Personal Truths.

Anton LeVay?

actually blackbird, it's not a direct quote from anyone. it's my own. still, that doesn't make me a philosophical genius by a longshot. aristotle, nitsche, and many others have developed similar theories on their own. they also did it long before that phony. anyway, as i was saying, the idea has been around for a long time...probably 'cause it's simple, valid, and accurate.

... No - I agree that he was a phony... It just sounded like something he might have said. *shrugs*

I agree, in a way... Good and Evil is in our heads...

Never underestimate the willingness of many people to prove themselves utterly without principles or morals that are anything at all like your own.

Yikes. That's one hell of a personal truth. But it begs the question; are anyone's moral's exactly like your own? I know mine are pretty unique... and I know there are several people here that I would say have pretty different outlooks on life - but does that make them immoral?

Mine

Love all. Serve all.
This is another version of the Wiccan Rede, Golden Rule, et al., tailored to fit my personal definition of respect as a kind of universal love and service.

Never underestimate the stupidity of people in large groups.
I inherently mistrust (super-structural) organization as both unnatural and stifling to the creative impulse.

This too shall pass.
Life is change, stability is an illusion. All things, both wonderful and horrible, will change with time and thus should be enjoyed or endured fully in the present.

Stand and be true. (Stephen King, of all people. ;) )
Be who and what you are, to the best of your abilities and the limits of your capacities. Everything is a learning process, and the only way to learn is to respect yourself and the moment.
