if you notice, unlike what many want to commonly believe, our closets aren't loaded with platforms, wedges, heels, et cetera.

At this point in my life, I sure have more sneakers than heels. I spend a lot of time on my feet during the week. But there was a time... Now I only have a few pair with any kind of real heels.

Well, except for boots. I still have all my boots, from low heels to stilettos. And I just added a pair of red western boots.

I did buy a pair of platform sneakers a while back, but I didn't like them despite the extra height they gave me.
