While you *can* breastfeed with nipple piercings, it will require a lot of extra care. The size and shape of your nipples can change during pregnancy, so that is also something to take into consideration. I have also heard of nipples leaking milk through the piercing, although not often. It is best to remove the jewelry while the baby is feeding then thoroughly clean and replace the jewelry when finished.

If you do an internet search on the topic you can find quite a few bits of advice. Personally, I waited until I was done having kids to get my nipples pierced, but I have friends who have managed to breastfeed with piercings. Good luck!
