Tyler

Tyler watched as Silk walked out the door.

Now where is he going and why didn't he ask me to go with him. He might be good, but he's no match against a whole ship full of sailors.

He turned back to Beth.

"Yes I'll help you. I'm not sure how or what I need to do, though. I don't think I'll be able to seduce any of the men," Tyler laughed rather loudly, "Well, they do take very long trips together, you never know."

Tyler caught himself before he laughed any longer. He realized that Beth wasn't likely to be in a laughing mood.

"I still don't understand everything that is going on. Why is this ship carrying only female prisoners? What are we supposed to do while your leader, Morgan, is gone?"

Morgan Fletcher

Morgan seated herself opposite the captain and laughed, forcing charm into her husky voice.

"Jasmine will be up in due time. She is seeing to some of the women who have fallen ill. That woman has a tender heart, so you needn't spare one of your own people. And never fear, Jasmine is just as eager to meet you as I was, sir."

She picked up a knife and and sliced off a morsal of cheese, which she lifted to her lips and nibbled. The captain finally began to eat as she made the concession.

"Have some wine, my dear," the captain said, gesturing to the glass nearest her.

"I am afraid I must decline. Having no tolerence for the drink, I would soon be as ill as any of the women in the hold."

Not quite the truth. Morgan needed every wit about her and had vowed not to dull her senses until The Lark was safely under her command.

"Please don't allow my temperance to impede your enjoyment, Captain. Eat, drink, and be merry."

Morgan got up and walked around to the back of the captain's chair. She leaned down so that the man would feel her warm breath on his ear as she whispered in a throaty voice.

"Be very merry."

Beth

I did smile at his remarks about seducing the men. The thought was rather funny, as was picturing him attempting such a feat.

"No, no I think Morgan just needed ears out there, listening to the captain and his men for their plans. On where we are going, things that could aid us in getting our freedom.. Can you perhaps sneak around and listen to their discussions? Perhaps see where the captains men are discontented the most?" I paused, wondering what else could possibly be done in our aid?
"Perhaps weapons, or sailor's clothing? Just things we can use?" I again went back to thinking, mulling over in my mind everything I could possibly think of that would be of assitance?
"I do not know why this ship only carries female prisoners, but I do know all of us are here for no reasons that really hold water against us.." I glanced up over our heads, hearing the hard thumping of boots move across the above deck. We needed something to assist, someone as well and I really did believe that Tyler and his companion was our best aid aside from Morgan's leadership.

Tyler

Tyler grabbed Beth's hand and held it tightly.

"Yes I'll do what I can. I don't know if I should leave now or wait until Morgan gets back. I'm sure she'll have something to say to me. I don't know how to take her. Damn Silk. I wish he would have waited on me. It's hard to say what he's getting himself into. What do you think that I should do?"

Beth

He startled me some what when his hand came out and gripped my own tightly. I pulled back a little, my eyes watching him closely for anything. My mind registered he was being friendly, but it still did not stop the fear that ran down my spine. Even Tyler was stronger than I was, every man I had met infact. I didn't like that at all.
I kept my smile in place and glanced where his hand held my own. He wasn't causing pain, but no one would infront of a room full of women. He was charming and sweet, but did he change behind closed doors?
I lifted my head and brought my eyes to his own, holding his gaze as he spoke. So sincere, passionate in his desire to help us. He could be trusted, or so part of me was saying. The other was just saying simply enough, 'He's a man...'
I cleared my throat, looking for something He could do that would be of the best benefit for the entire lot of us?
"Thank you Tyler, for all your aid." I smiled and squeezed his hand back in return before pulling it from his.
"Can you find out how long we have until the next stop and just where it will be? And if you can watch the crew for shift change and their assigned areas?" It was all I could come up with at this time. Morgan did not really talk to me much about all of this.

Riley

After finishing his fresh water shower Riley returned to his bunk where he put on a reasonably clean but tattered uniform. It was his turn to take the watch on the prisoners hold and as he approached the hatch he caught a glimpse of Silk leaving. He distracted the guard by telling him about a card game on the fantail and as he hurried off Riley motioned to Silk who was lurking in a dark corner.

"hey there matey you'ld better watch your step more closely around this area the word is out that there is some strange goings on here and everyone is courious. What are you finding in there with those poor women?. If your thinking of warming up to one of them you'ld better think twice, lad , theres no good with that lot of missfits to be sure. well its none of my business I guess, just that you seem to be a decent bloke in spite of your background."

Tyler shows up coming from the hatch behind Silk and Riley shook his head. "
Two of you in there, bet you've got those lasses stirred up like hornets now, don't you. Theres a card game going on on the fantail if your looking to learn anything about this ship you'll have better luck there than in the prisioners hold. Though you lads better just watch from the shadows the crews too light on this ship for some one new to slip in and not be noticed fifteen to be exact counting the cook and the first mate, mind you don't tangle with him he's a drunk and a sadist to boot. If any of the ladies go near him they're sure to be skinnned alive he'd rather do that than lay with them. Gets his enjoyment out of torture, they say. and let me tell you somothing else. don't be tying any sailors up again just toss them overbaoard it wll only cause you trouble if you leave any evidence. the sharks will have a fine meal and none will know the diference. not the cook mind you or the first mate the captain will miss him and blame me."

"Now get out of here you scalawags before you get us all killed."

Jasmine

When the woman in front of her didn't start talking to her, Jasmine began to pace around the small, dark room, looking at the faces of the women. Most of them didn't meet her eyes, seeming determined to stay lost in their own misery. Jasmine understood that feeling very well. The woman talking to the other man who had come into their prison with a freedom that Jasmine envied suddenly and passionately, was holding his hand now, but then, as soon as that started, it ended, and Jasmine watched as he slipped out the door and was gone. Envy welled up in her with an overwhelming tide, and suddenly, determined, she walked directly over to the door. As she reached the door, her courage failed her, and all she did was rest her head on the rough wood, a tear silently slipping down her cheek.

Wiping the tear, Jasmine turned around and looked, realizing that both of the men had left, and that they were again alone, just the women. A sense of security filled her now that the men were gone, and she took a deep breath to steady herself. Resting her back on the wall next to the door, she slowly slid to the floor, leaning her head back, and waited. She didn't know what she was waiting for, but she had become accustomed to waiting for other people to lead, being most comfortable when she only had to react.

Silk:

Riley motionned for them to get lost, so Silk patted Tyler on the back and left his friend with Riley. He moved swiftly across the deck, and disappeared around the corner.

Silk returned below deck, and caught himself just before making his way back to the woman who had captured his heart. Three burly sized men stood in front of the hold in which she had been kept with the other women.

He stood for awhile, just out of sight, but close enough to overhear them speak.

"Don't know who left this door unlocked, but whoever it was is in serious trouble!" said the first.

"Lock it up again and let's get outta here before someone rats us out as the culprits." said another.

The first big man took the lock from the wall and secured it in the latch, securing the prisoners inside once again.

"Damn, now I got to work that lock again." Silk muttered to himself.
