I love Canasta! Although I haven't played it since I lost my regular partner - my late sister - we learned how to play it from my mother's mother, and whenever she came for a visit from Virginia, we three could always be found in the living room - around the coffee table - cards in hand.
This image below - is the result of a snow storm that has hovered over our city for the last few days. It snowed here all day Friday - and this was taken - when it had just started snowing - AGAIN!
This is the street I live on - as of 7am yesterday morning... looking West. The man-child took this with his digi-cam while standing in the middle of the street. Today, we're bracing for yet another storm due to dump more on us either Monday or Tuesday.

I've always known that this type of snow would happen... IF we didn't always have 40mph winds. The snow that was still on the ground on Christmas - was the result of 'no wind'... and this latest storm (which is still here) is also the result of 'no wind'.
The city is at a virtual stand-still. The State Police have closed I-40 East from Tramway Blvd. (the very last street in the city at the base of the mountains) into Texas... and have also closed I-25 North from Tramway Blvd. into Colorado.
Even the big rigs are not allowed into the Canyon... and there are two or three 18-wheelers loaded with mail, and headed for Dallas/Ft. Worth - that have been here since Thursday night when the first storm ran through the Canyon and the foothills and then came down to start covering the city.
