Apartment 342, over there it was. Michaela checked one last time on her little battered pocket computer that she had the right address. So that was it, the start of her career as an errand girl. No, 'personal assistant'. At least that was what the add said. 'Personal assistant wanted. No special qualifications required.' Yeah right, the opportunity of a lifetime...

Not that this was her dream job, but she had run out of options by now. Pluto VII might be the last human frontier, but no one seemed to require any muscle and she needed to eat and a place to sleep after spending her last two nights coiled up in some corner on one of the lower levels. Which made her less picky. She had scanned all the job offers she thought she might be able to do, and replied with the best application she could come up with, a picture of hers included. This was one of the few she got a reply to. 'Come over around 4 pm, deck 3, Apartment 342' had been the short notice.

Deck 3 was definitely one of the better addresses around, quite close to the fabled Valhalla. Everything was meticulously clean, almost sterile. The walls, the windows, even the floor. One big fucking polished wonderland for the rich, the upper class of the station. And she would become the pet for one of them – if things went WELL. The thought almost made her turn on her heels and run, but she reigned herself in and continued her advance.

Her worn clothes – some old jeans, a washed out T-Shirt and her sneakers – made her feel out of place in this artificial haven, and the stares she got from its residents did nothing to alleviate that concern. She knew she looked a little unkempt right now, but she could not help it and had to shrug it off. Finally she was at the door. 'Be nice to that bitch' she told herself. Once more she took a deep breath, nervously pulled a non existing strand of her short hair out of her face and finally reached out with her right hand to ring the bell, her face directed at the camera with her best attempt of a smile gracing her face.

Fiona checked her office again and she knew, it had been browsed. Nobody else would have noticed the little traces, but she did. Somebody checked her papers, looked into her desk and her computer. And this someone has taken great care not to leave any traces. She knew she had enemies inside as well as outside. She had always expected something like this, and now it came. She could trust hardly anyone here for sure. She had always known that there was only one solution, to build up her own stuff. Creating a own system in their system, slowly replacing every part. Of course, she would have to act as she had noticed nothing. She could not just hire new people and experts right away, this would be to obvious. She would have to do it the way she worked so far, building up slowly, and move fast when the powers were redy. She would start with an general assistant first. That was nothing to be suspected, nearly everybody had one. If the assistance would be the right person, she could spy for her and help to get the next one in. Until she had her team around her. Maybe she would need a bodyguard after all. The govertment had offered her some, but she had resisted so far, because she knew that the bodyguards wer enot meant to protect her, but to guard her in a bad way. After she resistet, she recieved this letters. Abusive letters and deaththreats wer enothing new to her. But now there were obscene letters, what was even more abhorrent. She knew that some man were quite keen on her, especially some in the embassady above her rank. But these letters were not the product of some stupid hormon driven male telling his secret fantasies. They were composed to intimitade her, by a person who was well aware of the actions. That could be a menace. But she could not hire private bodyguards right away. The assistant was the start. There was a woman applying for it, and she was waiting for her. She wore her black turtleneck and the tight black bellbottom trouser today. She answered the call, and waited for the woman. She did not try to look intimidating. She knew she could produce a very warm, feminine and fully natural smile if she was up to.

Finally the door opened, and Michaela got a first glance at her potential employer to be. She could not resist the temptation to look her up and down immediately.

The haircut of that chick definitely looked a little retro, and she was of the older generation although she had kept in shape well. Seemed she also wanted her to feel welcome, which was a plus. So would try to return that favor, starting by immediately grabbing her hand in a handshake. A little sluggish again, but one of these days she would get the timing right and not act like she was on dope.

With her best attempt at a grin she greeted "Hi, you must be Fiona. I'm Michaela, here for that job offer of yours. Nice ta meet ya." Oh my, that sounded horrible.

The doorbell rang, and Fiona opened herself. She did not have a private secretary by now, if she needed one, she went to one of the secretaries of the embassady. This was another thing to change. She waited in her office, while the woman wa lead in by an employee. She sat behind her desk in her rather plain office. She did not think much of big, pretentious decoration.
Fiona smiled lightly. "Yes, I am." she looked at the woman. At least she wasn't one of those silly creatures who tried to impress with lots of make-up, bleached hair and slutty clothes. But her look was either a sign of good self-confidence, telleing that she was so good that she did not need to follow the damn conventions, or plain careless, what would be stupied.
"Now, tell me please, what exactly made you apply for this job?"

Michaela followed Fiona into her office as she replied "Honestly? I am broke. I need the credits, and you said there are 'no qualifications required'. Plus, hey, I get to see the better part of the station."

Had Michaela had more experience in the business world she would have known that this answer was as lousy as they could come, but all her known adult life had consisted first of the military service, and then her escape, and so she still was under the delusion that honesty would get her somewhere.

Fiona Cole

"Now, speaking about qualifications. Where do you see you're qualifications?"

Although she was not invited to do so, Michaela took a seat across Fiona. First she even lounged habitually in it, one of her legs over one of the armrest, but a stern gaze from her host made her reconsider, that and her resolution to be her most charming.

So she immediately sat upright, her back straight and her feet planted neatly next to each other on the floor, as she finally replied.

"Well... I am a very reliable person and ... I know to work that calendar software" she shyly held up her pocket computer, with all its scratches " and I think I am a quick learner, so i should be able to do whatever you tell me to"

Darn, hadn't it said no qualifications required. What did she expect?

Fiona Cole

"So, what are you expecting from this job? Is there anything you think you would like to do? Where is your interest?"

Seth Plissken

Seth stepped down onto the docking bay platform from the ramp of the transport ship, shuffling into line with the other new arrivals as they passed through the security gate ahead and into the station. He rolled his shoulders, shaking his head as he worked out the kinks of the long journey. The cheapest ticket had meant the longest trip, and he still wore the same clothes as he had when he left Earth. He kept his wardrobe simple. Black military issue jacket, nondescript grey shirt, dark blue jeans and his old army boots. A black backpack containing the rest of his meager possessions hung from his left shoulder. He leaned down to sniff himself. Wrinkling his nose he pulled back. He smelled of close quarters and stale sweat. A shower was top on the list of things to do once he got through this damned line. The security personnel that stamped his passport didn't bother with a welcome, only speaking to call for the next in line to step up. Seth slipped his passport into a pocket inside his jacket and walked through the security gate into the station proper.

The transport had dropped its passengers off on the stations outermost district, the slums, and Seth could immediately identify them as having been properly named. Beggars gathered to hit up the new arrivals while they were still fresh and small groups of thugs milled about looking for an easy mark. The set of his shoulders and the grim look on Seth's face discouraged such attention, and he was undisturbed as he pushed his way through the crowd. He was heading for the transport platform to catch a shuttle to the Embassy District. He needed money, and the American Embassy was likely to be the only place that someone with his skill set could find gainful employment.

The Embassy district was the complete opposite of the Slums. Clean, professional and much less crowded, the people strolling through this district wore sleek business suits and eyed him as if he were a beggar. He growled under his breath, quickening his pace as he walked across the square and into the American Embassy. The young woman behind the front desk looked up, the smile that had begun to cross her face quickly turning into a scowl. "How many times do I have to tell them to keep these lobbies clear?" She stood and violently pointed to the door behind him. "The Government Assistance office is one floor up, we cannot help you here sir!" Seth just shook his head and handed her his passport. She snatched it from him and sat behind her terminal, pulling his record up on her computer. Her eyes widened as she looked back up at him and returned his passport. "I'm sorry Lieutenant Plissken, we just get so many from the slums in ..." He cleared his throat to cut her off. "Seth. And don't worry about it. I need you to put me in the database as available. I need work." She nodded " Well Lieut...Seth...you are more than qualified. As a matter of fact, you'll be at the top of the list." Seth nodded and she pushed a small personal computer across the desk to him. "We'll contact you." He grabbed the device but before he could pocket it she grabbed his hands. He looked up at her. "Let me give you my personal number Seth...you know...just in case you need any extra assistance." He laughed under his breath and shook his head, pulling away from her. "No thanks. Just find me a contract." He enjoyed the pouty look on her face as he turned to leave.

Back in the slums, Seth was wandering the corridors looking for a hotel. This was the only place he would be able to afford lodging and he still desperately needed a wash.

Michaela shrugged. "Well, I hope I am not cooking coffee all the time. I can do that if it has to be done" A scwol made it abundantly clear how much she relished that idea "but rather do somethin' else."

She thought for another few moments, her head bowed slightly in contemplation, before she looked straight at Fiona again "Actually I'm not so sure what I'm supposed to do at all, maybe you tell me first?"

Sarah Robertson

Sarah's gazed followed Seths muscular frame with a dreamy expression as he coolly shambled out of the door. What a man, so unkempt, free and strong, so different than all the spick and span lackeys she usually had to deal with. Imaginative scenes of wild adventure rushed through her little mind, and stirred a desire within her to break free of the bonds of her petty little existance.

She was well aware that she was a decent looking young girl, but not more. She was slender, but not exceptionally curvaceous. Maybe she finally should get to working out more. It was apparent why he had refused her. But she would find other ways to win his heart, she only had to show him her love.

So as he finally had left the building she reached for the phone, and dialled a number of one of her colleagues. "Hello Tommy, Sarah here. There is something you could do for me..."

Fiona Cole

"So to say, I need a trustful person that is able to act spontaneous and self-contained and able to fill out unexpected demands and problems. Someone who is able to deal with persons and matters I have no time for. Maybe even to lead other people who work for me or to go out and get informations. Someone who is not afraid of authorities, but up to meet with them. Somebody able to learn and make progress, taking things seriously and not just as a thing do get finished before quitting time. Are you up to these?" she looked at Michaela.
"What have you done before?"

Michaela listened to Fionas little lecture with rapt attention, interrupted by the occasional nod as yet another part of her future job profile was revealed. Oh my, what had she gotten herself into?

So as the black woman paused for a bit she took the chance to speak, or rather stammer "Well, uhhh, sure... yeah I can probably do all this, or learn to... I am a people's person, ya'know" but this statement did not sound entirely convincing, not even to herself.

"What have I done before, uhh..." She was not sure she wanted to tell her about her military experience just yet, as that might ruin her already slim chances to get that job even more.

284729, that was the key code he had programmed in to the pathetic excuse for a network, all access to the hotel rooms, he didn’t need all of them, but it was easier to just hack a new code in to the system than decrypt the one he needed, he was only going to be here long enough for a change of clothes anyway.

He gave the hallway a quick once over, double checking he was alone, the room was vacant, he had payed for some supplies to be dropped here and the room was good for another day before the booking ran out, he just didn’t need people asking why he was using the override console rather than the key card. Questions were not his friend right now. Once he was content that no one was watching, he pulled open the wall panel to reveal the terminal concealed underneath.

“Why can’t these people just use a wireless system for maintenance, it would make this so much easier” he mumbled, fully aware he had just answered his own question as he tapped away at the consol for a few seconds before it beeped twice “Not that its hard though” he closed the panel once he was done and walked down the hall to the door he had unlocked, quickly slinking in though the door and locking it behind him.

It was a rather Spartan accommodation, bed, closet, fridge, a TV that looked older than him and a door that he assumed led to a bathroom, or at least a shower that someone was using, apparently his contact had used it after all, he didn’t mind, it would have gone to waste otherwise. He ignored the company and went straight for the closet, expecting to find a bag within it with what he needed, however when he opened the door he was left rather disappointed.

His contact wouldn’t have moved it, but the only person who could have would be the person staying here, which led Jason to believe that whoever was in the shower was not his contact. He sighed and walked over to the bathroom door, if it wasn’t his contact then it was probably just some squatter who figured out the room wasn’t actually being used, no big deal, just ask where the bag was and go.

The door wasn’t locked, but it still made a loud click as the knob turned, as if that wasn’t enough of a warning to whoever was inside, Jason had not in any way been prepared for the bright light and white tile his eyes were now forced to see, blinding him for a moment. “Fuck that’s bright” he mumbled in a tired voice, his hand coming up to rub his eyes.

“Bright?! What the fuck are you doing in here?!” a shrill and fearful female voice asked, the noise mixed with that of the falling water and the clatter of quickly moving bare feet on a wet floor, followed soon by the sound of something sharp scraping the bench.

“What? Woh now” he said, his eyes focusing on the knife first, sending his hands up in surrender, the fear of the knife momentarily making him ignore that the rather attractive girl holding it was naked and badly covering herself with a raggedy towel “This is my hotel room” he said, the anger in her eyes dying somewhat when she remembers she wasn’t supposed to be there either “now if you would kindly tell me where my bag is, I’ll be out of your lovely long brown hair” he smirked, but with how tired he looked in the bright lights it looked forced “even if it is pink right now.”

She glared at him for a second, but recognised that it would be easiest to just cooperate to be rid of him quicker. “Just wait outside for a second, then I’ll get your bag” she said, still brandishing the knife, though she wasn’t quite as murderous looking as before.

“Ok” he said, without offering any argument as he turned to leave her “Just don’t take too long” once back in the room he went straight to the bed, collapsing back on to it, sighing in contentment at finally having a moment of rest and respite from all the running he had been doing.

“I didn’t open it” she said, now out in the room as well, the towel now properly wrapped about her to cover her nude form “I just didn’t want to be blamed for it if anyone found it, so I hid it better for you” she walked over to the corner of the room and crouched down, taking care not to give him another free show as she did, and pulled up the carpet. Hiding underneath was a little maintenance access point for god knows what, the writing on it had faded, but it was unlocked and easily overlooked, the perfect hiding spot. She retrieved the bag from within the hideaway and turned back to Jason.

“What’s in here anyway?” she asked, expecting an answer that didn’t come, Jason was asleep “Great” she said sarcastically as she walked over and placed the bag down on the bed, opening it, she was a curious girl and he was a curious thing. However she didn’t expect what she found, drugs, guns, incriminating evidence, all that would have made sense, but clothes and some petty cash? That didn’t make sense at all. She looked over at the sleeping puzzle and it all suddenly clicked in her head, the news said just over a hundred unprocessed slaves had escaped the day before, and her mystery man was in just the kind of grey numbered jumpsuit they loved to put unprocessed slaves in.

“Aww” she moved over and gently stroked his hair “poor thing” then abruptly slapped his head “Wake up!” Jason responded slowly, turning his head to look at the girl with confusion in his eyes as he figured out where he was and what was happening, then a look of slight panic when he did.

“Oh fuck I fell asleep” he said, jumping up and grabbing the bag before dashing in to the bathroom, slamming the door behind him “How long was I out, please tell me it wasn’t long” he called out to the girl through the door as he rapidly changed his clothes.

“Only a minute or so, but by the looks of things you need more” she said, straightening the towel around her, now that she knew he wasn’t some kind of criminal out to get her she was starting to realise how cute he had looked sleeping, plus, the escaped slave sympathy vote helped “Escaping from a slave train must be tiring.”

“Ha, more like getting myself transferred to a slave train, planning the escape, making it happen then running for 20 hours straight” he replied though the door as he pulled on his pants, he was proud of his work, a devilishly simple plan perfectly executed, that netted him 129 decoy runners as an added bonus “tiring doesn’t cover it”

“I’ll bet” she said before going silent, not quite sure how to respond to what he had said, who would? After a minute he emerged from the bathroom, now dressed in black jeans, a white shirt and a sleeveless blue hoodie, his hair tied back properly and the tiredness on his face dispelled by what appeared to be a splash of water to his face “You clean up good” she said, the tiniest hint of a blush on her face, the colour change far too subtle for Jason to have noticed with his limited experience of human interaction.

“You half clean up good” he responded with a smile “the end result must look great” she blushed a little deeper, but still the change was right over his head “do you have an email contact?” he asked, intending to explain his need for it, but before he could she stood and replied, he voice sounding strange to Jason for some reason, more high pitched.

“Sure, I’ll write it down for you” she quickly found a scrap of paper and scribbled the email down before handing it to him.

“Thanks” he said, taking one look to memorise it before tearing it up “If I ever need another safe house for a drop off I’ll know just who to call, but for now I have to get going fast” he went to leave past her but she stayed firmly in his way.

“Why don’t you hang around, you’re tired, rest will do you good” she said, moving closer, gently resting her hand on his chest, it wasn’t the first time something like this had happened to Jason when he was attempting an escape, he didn’t understand the charity when the people were so hostile to him only moments before. He knew he had to leave though.

“I can’t” he said remorsefully, he would love to rest, but he had to be somewhere far more secure before he let himself do that, preferably after he had hacked in to some well defended systems and scrambled all data pertaining to the hunt for him “too risky now” he reached up with his non prosthetic hand and griped hers reassuringly “don’t worry about me, I’ll be…”

He went dead silent and stared off in to the distance for a moment “All the doors in this building just unlocked” he said before looking back to her, seeing the confusion in her eyes “that means they’ve found me, but don’t worry, I have a plan, I just need to know how good you are at faking an orgasm.”

****************************************

There were 6 of them in the building, all of them racing off to check a different section, they had to be quick or Jason might hear them and disappear before they caught him, he had given them the slip one too many times already, their employers would not look kindly upon yet another failure in recovering such a valuable piece of merchandise.

One of them came to the right door, purely by chance, he drew the concealed pistol from inside his jacket with a grumble, he wasn’t actually allowed to use it, but he could still make the threat. His boot crashed in to the door, the cheep wood quickly giving way and crumpling inwards, his gunsights quickly falling on a pink haired woman getting some rather intimate attention from someone under the sheets, who was apparently skilled enough that it took her a few seconds to realise she was at gunpoint. She screamed and pulled the sheets up around her, probably scaring the shit out of the lucky bastard with his head in-between her thighs “Get out, GET OUT!” she threw the lamp at him, but the heavy thing didn’t make the distance and crashed on the floor, it had the desired effect though, he closed the splintered door behind him and sent on to the next one with a sigh, Jason would have heard that, they weren’t going to find him here.

****************************************

She stopped her hysterics shortly after the broken door closed, or came as close to closing as it ever would again, a wicked grin spreading across her face to compliment her mischievous look “did it work?” Jason asked as he peered up at her from under the sheets.

“Who said you could come up for air” she replied in a sultry voice, but all it got in response was a confused ‘huh’ from Jason, so she quickly dismissed it “Never mind” she said, turning away from him as he blush deepened again “You should go quick, while you can.”

“You are a life saver, literally” Jason said with a grin before quickly jumping off the bed and heading out the door, moving as fast as he dared. The rather unfulfilled girl on the other hand sat in the bed, still blushing as her mind processed everything that had just happened as he started to dart through the door.

“My name is… Dammit” he was gone, and she was feeling very unfulfilled after their little charade as more than the shower water dripped down on to the bed.

****************************************

Jason had to slip past two more of them on the way to the front door, but he managed it, he even came within a foot or two of the one guarding the lobby and still made it to the door, intending to quietly slip away, if he had not come in through the back door he would have known exactly how his plan was going to fail. He gently pulled the door open, but before he could get the gap wide enough to slip through, a bell chimed just overhead, they hadn’t had one of those at the back door.

“Fuck” stealth was ruined, he didn’t bother looking back to confirm it, he could hear the lobby guard giving chase and calling his friends, at least he would have a few minutes head start on those ones, if only he could give this one the slip somehow.

Seth casually walked along the corridors of the slums district, having learned the location of a decent hotel he was heading in that direction, eager to settle down for the night. He was deep in thought, thinking of what would need to be done tommorrow and where he might possibly start the search for his sister. Prostitutes and drug dealers called out to him as he passed, all ignored without even sparing a glance. He caught sight of the hotels sign up ahead and breathed a sigh of relief, thinking about how wonderful that shower was going to feel he quickened his step.

He was closing in on the front entrance when the door suddenly burst open, carrying with it the sound of a blaring alarm siren. Seth watched as a young man burst through the open door, a hotel security guard in hot pursuit just behind him. And then something truly odd happened. Perhaps it was because the young guy reminded him of his troubled past. Maybe he was just bored from all that time spent cooped up on the transport from Earth. Or maybe he just wanted a fight. Seth sidestepped as the young guy ran past him, stepping back into the path before the security guard could follow.

"Out of the way!" the guard bellowed, reaching down to pull a baton from his belt. Seth stood his ground and even moved to block the guard as he attempted to run past him. "Come on now...what'd the kid do...steal some towels?" The guard huffed in frustration. "No asshole...he's an escaped slave, now move!" The guard lashed out his baton towards the side of Seth's head. It was painfully obvious that the guard was inexperienced in the use of his chosen weapon, telegraphing the move to such a degree that Seth easily reached up and caught his wrist before his blow could land. A swift knife hand to the guards throat from his other hand followed by a leg sweep sent the man to the ground, out of commission. Seth reached down and grabbed the baton, turning back to face the young man. "Lets get the hell out of here before his buddies catch up."

Fiona wasn't very convinced that Michaela was really the person she was looking for. She wasn't well prepared, and maybe less intelligent then she had hoped. Fiona wasn't looking for anyone who was cooking coffee and running back home later. This job could be even dangerous, and she would not put anyone in danger who might not be capable to even see what was coming to her. Maybe she should really specifiy the ad a bit more.

Michaela was not very good at reading people, but the expression on that black woman's face spoke volumes nevertheless. Probably she was just trying to be polite by pulling this through to the end, but it was clear she was found lacking. Probably not smart or quick witted enough or whatever. As a consequence she slowly started to slump down in her chair, cursing herself and wondering what she should do next, only half listening to what else Fiona had to tell her.

"Well" she started finally, pushing herself up again with her hands on the chair's armrests "I guess I am just wasting your ..."

BAAMM!

She knew that sound, had heard it countless times before. It was the explosion of a small scale detonator, used to blast open amongst others locked doors that were not too heavily armed. And it came from almost directly behind her. Her tired indifference was a thing of the past as her head shot around at a speed that any onlooker might fear she was about to tear off her own neck. Any sluggishness was gone now, her whole body for once allowed to operate at full speed, almost relishing the impeding danger. For the first time since what seemed forever she felt alive.

It took her only a microsecond to realize that the office door was still closed and the explosion had probably torn open the main entrance. Her amplified hearing could already make out the steps of heavy boots crossing the small foyer, and any second they would be in here. Not wasting anymore of the precious little time she had left she was out of her chair and across the big office table in one swift dive, an outstretched arm dragging her still surprised and utterly perplexed host to the floor together with her, flattening her under her own body, and not a moment too soon.

As she was about to disappear behind the desk she could see out of the corner of her eye how the office door slammed open and three masked men in nondescript grey maintenance overalls stormed it, each of them holding a submachine gun. At the first sight of movement, they fired, their small but leathal weapons spitting in rapid succession, but all they did was to perforate the polished plasteel front of the table and the wall above. The two women cowering behind it were safe for the moemnt, and as quickly as it began the sound of weapons fireing died down.

Michaela knew she needed to act, and to act quick. Already the three assassins moved up on her cover, one circling around each side while one went straight for the middle. If only she had a gun, but there was no way she would have gotten one through customs. So she desperately grabbed Fiona's hair, violently pulled her head up enough that their faces were mere inches apart, and quickly growled "Do you have a gun here?"

Fiona was shocked, but not left of her senses. She knew that something like that would happen on day. She knew she stood no chance against them, but they were only after her, and she could not let them harm this poor girl. She whispered to her. "No gun. Get under the table and flee when you can." She stood up, she had to distract the attackers. "Allright, you want me. Here I am."

Jason was thankful that the man let him past, he couldn’t always rely on a civilian to not give a crap and he didn’t need another big son of a bitch trying to stop him. To his surprise though, the man turned out to be far from an uncaring observer, Jason chanced slowing to glance behind him, his steps faltering when he saw that the guards path had been blocked “That’s never happened before…” he mumbled, trying to understand it in his head, perhaps it was because this time the people sent to capture him weren’t carrying automatic weapons, the possibility of getting shot was quite the deterrent.

"Lets get the hell out of here before his buddies catch up."

“Running, I like that plan” He finally responded after a moment’s hesitation “I don’t have anywhere to run to” he said just as two gunshots rang out from inside the hotel, god knows what they were shooting at, but he hoped it would distract them for a while “but there’s two perfectly good things to run from” he added with a grin, just before he turned and continued his mad dash away from the hotel.

Fiona got to "... want me ..." when she felt a surprisingly strong hand grab her waistband and quickly drag her back down behind the cover, just in time before the three surprised assassins had beeen able to prime their weapons onto her. As the same hand pressed her face into the fine carpet she could hear Michaela's voice near her ear again "None of us need ta make any stuipd heroic self sacrifices, now stay DOWN!". Was this the same girl that only moments before had sat so forlorn and lost in a chair in front of her?

There was no time for Michaela to curse about that stupid bitch and the fact that she was not even properly armed while making what appeared to be some quite dangerous enemies. The black woman's charade had halted the three guys breifly, but they were advancing again. Time to act.

Her hand closed around the chair Fiona had sat in before her rather aprupt trip to the office floor, and with a tug of her arm she hurled it over the table and into the direction of the rightmost assailant. While it was still in midair she dashed - although 'dash' would not remotely do her move justice - around the desk and towards the target of the flying chair. While that one's attention was momentarily focused on the incoming piece of furniture, the other two reacted immediately. They were trained in their craft, but they simply were not prepared for that sort of speed, and so as their mean little metal contraptions started spitting slugs at the human form rushing across their field of vision in a blur of movement the bullets only managed to trace behind Michalea, leaving their tracks in the wall behind her. So intent were they to catch up to that girl that they were unable to stop in time before their sweeping line of fire arced over the third comrade, and riddled with bullets he slouched against the young woman who had used his frame as improvised cover.

Michaela immediately seized the opportunity, she had hoped for something like that to happen. One of her hands closed around the hand of the dead man leaning against her that was still holding the little submachine gun and turned it around, while her other hand found its trigger. Before the two surviving assassins even registered what was happening she opened fire on them, and as they had neither her reflexes nor any sort of cover they almost immediately slumped to the floor, red blotches slowly growing all over their rumps. And then there was silence. Dead silence.

Michaela had already pried the weapon from her unwilling assistants lifeless grip and was standing next to the exit door, checking that the three corpses in the room were indeed all that was to come. She took a step back, and as she surveyed the carnage she had wrought a satisfied grin came across her face. Almost as an afterthought she called out to Fiona "You can come out now. They are all dead."

Fiona climbed up. This all went faster then she could follow; the only explanation were bodily modifications. She looked at the dead, while she heard an alarm sound and people running nearby, no doubt security.
"You are not what you supposed to be...." she said, still shocked from what has happened.

Michaela looked back at her, now a lot more self-confident than during the interview, the grin still across her face. Her life had just been at stake, and still in a strange way it had been fun. She felt like a race horse that had been allowed to run after being locked up in a paddock for far too long.

Finally she ended her contemplations and replied "Neither are you. This was a professional hit, and not a subtle one. Someone wants you dead very badly. You'd not tell about that sort of enemies when we were talkin'."

As the alarm outside continued, she added "Will you be able to handle the security guys, or should I better get going?"

Seth tucked the baton into his belt behind his belt and started running after the other man. So much for a good nights sleep and a nice hot shower. The gunshots that rang out only reminded him that besides the baton he was unarmed. He growled under his breath, catching up to the young man as they wove through alleys and corridors to throw off any pursuit. They ran on in silence, Seth just behind Jason and occasionally turning to check for anyone following. He suddenly slowed to a stop and grabbed Jason's arm to slow him down. "We should stop running, we'll draw undue attention to ourselves."

"Name's Seth." He extended a hand to Jason. " Considering whoever those guys are that are pursuing you are packin', we should probably find some firepower. Somehow I don't think they are going to give up that easily. Any ideas?"

Fiona Cole

Even before Fiona could answer, teh security members bursted in, and suddenly stopped, surprise in their face as they looked around.
Fiona had put herself back together again, and spoke to them in a very strict voice:
"You are late. If it would not be for my private bodyguard, I would be dead by now. Shouldn't you prevent such things?"
The security men stammered something, while moving his gone around.
"You will check who this men were and how they got into here. I will answer any questions later. I cannot stay in this bloodstained room, and I need something against my shock. We are off to the cafetaria." She picked up her bag from the floor, that had survived the shooting undamaged.
"Come Micheala."
