Well Signal wouldn't replace Lit, far from it, but it is just the better option to accomplish what you wish with regards to group chats.

Notifications of new messages without the constant refreshing of the lit page. The ability to send pics, vids, gifs, audio, etc.

I still use Lit every day even though I have a group of special lit friends in a Signal group chat.

Discord is okay but just realize they keep everything on their servers whereas Signal delivers the messages and then deletes it off their servers.

@Hornymwtxn helped me setup & get started w signal.
it has a better user interface, and gives us more options of group role playing.
