I absolutely agree. C'mon, Harold, finish it.

Better yet, how about making it a contest. You provide the open lines and all entries have to finish the story in such a way as they see fit.

I"m great at coming up with those little teasers to start a story, but I'm absolutely worthless at coming up witha story to fit the promise.

I've had this opening sitting in a file with a rough outline a the story for several years waiting for the imnspiration to actually write the story

I'll ditto what's been said that sex can be the plot. I've written stories this way and I've certainly gotten off to more than a few that had its entire focus on the sex.

It's been four years since I last tried to turn that into a story and I'm no closer to being able to use it than I was then.

Stroke stories are like porn movies--first exciting, then titillating, then boring.

A plot and character development give the story some interest instead of being one long description of multitudinous sex acts.

Which is what I'm writing lately and would explain my recent scores.

Go to the Story Feedback Forum almost any day and you'll find them posted by little newbies with proud, smiling faces waiting for someone to tell them what a wonderful story they have written.

The fact is, a Pure Sex story cannot be a story. A "STORY" has a beginning where the characters in introduced, the setting is created, a middle where characters interact, tension is built and so on, and an ending that ties up all the loose danglies.

We Met. We Fucked. We Left. Just doesn't qualify. Where's the point?

I'm not exactly a newbie, (or little) and I have written hundreds of stories like that. I do include a brief introduction telling why the characters are in the position they are in, and a little dialogue, but no plot at all. Like several people have said, the sex is the plot.

I know many people dislike stories that are pure sex, but honestly sometimes I'd like to read a story that follows as such: a hot girl does it with a guy, the end.

I like a good sex story too, and while I find myself considering writing such a story, I can never bring myself to do it. But, FallenMorgan, if you write one I would suggest one change in your idea: Hot GUY does it with a girl.

Let's get the priorities straight!

Once was just pure stroke with spelling mistakes, poor grammar and so on, and the other was a well written well drawn out story with plot, characters, decent spelling (I'm not great at grammar to begin with), and all the bells and whistles of a good story. Your question asked if I would read a straight sex story if it was well written, and I voted 'yes'.

Heck, I'll read a cornflakes packet if it is well written.

Jenny said that pure sex stories miss the plot. That's often, but not always, true.

What the issue is, have you got a good piece of fiction that keeps me turning the page. If you can do that, the sex bit is irrelevant.

That statement describes most of my stuff too. Sometimes though, if you squint, you can almost detect a plot.

(Okay, only if the story itself isn't making me happy, I admit I scroll down and find sex. Then if the sex sucks too, I close the window. Shh, don't tell people that )

I know what ya mean though. Sometimes I just want sex. I don't want to use my melon and know that there's something behind it. (No pun intended. )

And sometimes I even get one of my favorite books out and just re-read the sex scenes. 'Brazen' by Susan Johnson. It's got some good smut. And I know where all the good parts are. Hehe.

As a matter of fact, that was in a book that someone told me was great new erotica-- and that was the only line that I thought erotic in the whole book!

Are you telling me that women use the paperback equivalent of men fast-forwarding through porn flicks to find the sex scenes?

I must admit I've got a few "adult paperbacks" that fall open to certain sections and even a couple with the spines so broken the really good pages are falling out.
