Does educating people about white privilege—the idea that for white people, their race is a boon, but for black people, a drawback, at least in certain social situations—make them more empathetic? A fascinating new study suggests that the kind of racism awareness training taught in many university classrooms is not only useless but may actually be detrimental.

The study was published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General in April. Researchers provided participants with some academic literature explaining the concept of white privilege and then asked them to gauge their reactions to hearing a story about an unfortunate man. For some participants, the man was described as black, for others, he was described as white. Researchers also ran a separate experiment in which the participants were not told about white privilege before reacting to the story. They also queried both sets of participants about their political beliefs.

What they found was that conservatives who had learned about white privilege were no more sympathetic to the poor black man than conservatives who had not learned about white privilege. For liberals, the results were alarming: Liberals who read the educational materials about white privilege were similarly unsympathetic to the poor black man as the liberals in the second experiment, but they were even more unsympathetic to the poor white man.

"What we found startling was that white privilege lessons didn't increase liberals' sympathy for poor Black people," writes Erin Cooley, one of the study's authors and an assistant professor of psychology at Colgate University, in an explanatory post for Vice. "Instead, these lessons decreased liberals' sympathy for poor white people, which led them to blame white people more for their own poverty. They seemed to think that if a person is poor despite all the privileges of being white, there must really be something wrong with them."

I'm glad someone is talking about this, more people need to find the strength to address the personality disorders we are creating.

Transgender kids, we've gone beyond helping kids who need help into manufacturing more transgender kids.

I'll never forget when I was working with a crew of people around my own age, early 20s. All of a sudden all the girls turned gay. That was about when the rainbow got turned into a LGBT thing... I had this cool, worn-in hat with a rainbow ribbon on it. I had bought it when I was in my teens, with my own money. One of my girlfriends, who was a recent convert to bisexualism, would not shut the fuck up about my cool hat. I was just like fuck it, I gave it to her, it's meaning and sentiment had been all fucking rearranged.

Which, that is one good thing about MTF transgenders. It's like holding a mirror up to women and asking, "Is this what it means to be a woman? Hair, make-up, clothes? A certain anatomical hole that can be fucked? Ladies, are you a hole?"
 
Whether or not transgenders make the "change," their suicide rates are still well above the norm.


There are two options to choose from:

1). It is a form of mental illness.
2). "We" are not properly accepting and integrating them into our lives.

I'm racking my brain to find a third alternative,
but if you are that unhappy before or after, then
we might want to honestly examine the premise.


Is not Affirmative Action a targeted privilege?
If this positive policy is used to select a candidate,
is everyone on board with the "merit" of the individual
or do they constantly worry about their competence and ability?

Now, the sons and daughters of official Washington DC,
boy, are they showered with privilege and they used to be all white
but now that people like President Obama are becoming more prevalent
(and I have always wondered if he was, indeed an affirmative action President)
their children too seem to enjoy the privilege that one would normally assume "white."
 
Affirmation can be addictive, that's why we have the term attention whores.

The "white privilege" narrative by the left is a racist belief that carries with it the unintended subliminal component of minority inferiority, as it promotes a theory of pandemic racial oppression, but lacking any evidence of societal mechanisms of such oppression, the alleged oppressed are confronted with other realities for their present condition like personal choice, lack of formative parental guidance, education, and personal initiative. Note these shortcomings are not confined by race only.

One thing I have noticed, racist, poor white trash hate seeing black people who are better educated or more successful in life than them.

That's one of the main reasons they had a problem with the Obamas.

I think I've read that here before. Oh yeah, every one of your previous posts.
And you are wrong, of course. The reason I detested Obama included his lying about Obamacare (If you like your doctor …, This plan will save you $2,500 a year); his kowtowing to foreigners; his endless apologizing to the world for what the U.S. has done (we actually saved the world in the 1940s); his inept handling of the economy; his spying on the press; his weaponizing of the IRS against his political opponents; and his general contempt for those who disagreed with him.
