So, to be pornographic a painting would have to be obscene, right? Is obscenity still part of the definition of pornography? If so, I'm not sure that's a "pornographic" painting, though it is a hot-sexy one, and definitely interesting. Ostensibly, a pornographic painting would be something a museum or gallery couldn't stick on a wall, right? But then the effect of the gallery or museum wall also serves to neutralize an obscene reading - so, can I pin the centerfold from "Butt On Face" magazine on the museum wall and its not pornography, but if I tack it into my bedroom wall and lay back on the bed for a little art appreciation, it is pornography?
The term is largely just a means of control - for legal reasons, for sure, but there's also this aspect of "its ok to look at this wiener, but not ok to look at that wiener" sort of selection going on. Michel Foucault would have something to say about this, wouldn't he? Where is that guy?

I don't do painting as I'm crap but I love this I have for my myspace page. Not sure who it is and not really pornographic in the real sense but quite interesting
This isn't spam, idiot. It's me sharing a part of myself with you. I've been posting here since 2003, n00b. F-off.
The name of the painting is "Taboo" so I don't actually call it pornographic. It was just the thread title, mainly used to draw interest to the thread, not the piece. The idea behind the piece was to be looking at porn without realizing it until later.
There are 2 penises in that painting. Both going into a vagina. I'm not about to do a painting slathered in penises. No one wants to see that. Well, unless they are gay...
