My keyboard skills are my best :) I have a pair of keyboards - Yamaha DX-9 and a Roland D50. Here is a midi I did late last year on the DX-http://www.geocities.com/snorkmaiden_usa/midi/utopia_snorkmaiden.mid

Real Nice! I'm a music lover myself, but actually more of a singer. I've written several lyrics, but haven't yet found someone to do the instrumental. Hard to describe just what one would want, ya know? :)

Thank you Pink Fire,

Just to let you know - I didn't write it, its just my interpretation, there is big difference between being able to play and being able to compose so I understand how you feel about your song. I am unfortunately not gifted as a composer :(

SM,

Don't cutt yourself short...yes it is one thing to interpret and replay what someone else does but deep inside exists the ability to transform things and make your own melodies and music...just sit down and start playing...it will come to you like a dream and the it may bot seem like anything at first but you know what? It is you...it is all you...each note and each melody is you...no one can take that away and the more you hear yourself the more you will be inspired and your soul will take over and there is no wrong note...no wrong melody...it is you.

I understand what you say, Papi. The problem is every time I do something like that it 'sounds' borrowed from something else I have heard, do you know what I mean?

We all borrow and use what has been done before because it has made an impression on our souls and that is part of us and it is GOOD...there is nothing wrong with that...just go with it and just make it your own...add a twist to it or play it faster/slower or whatever you feel like...I understand very well what you mean....but trust in yourself and your abilities...you will see it become your own.

Heck, all artists borrow songs from other artists a couple times in their lifetime. An example I have off the top of my head is Alien Ant Farm's Smooth Criminal. Thats a remake of the Michael Jackson song. So its good you're borrowing songs Snork. Helps improve your playing and might give you a few idea's of writing your own songs as well.
