I often wonder why people wander into the General Board willingly. I was going to ask your purpose, but it's right there. I don't think they have a comfort zone there, or can be put on the defensive, but good luck.

It's not so bad. It's not a place for the thin skinned. Some of them showed up in defensive mode and never recovered from the first hit.

I don't know why they stay, but it is the one place on Lit where anyone can say almost anything, so they go for shock value, as that's the only thing that gets them any attention. They come to Lit expecting their wisdom to be recognized and worshipped, but are soon reduced to filling every post with nonsense schoolyard insults.

It's the kind of thing which wouldn't last two days, if sensible people ignored them, but that never happens. There are always people who think they are so clever, their corrosive wit will burn the poor troll before everyone's eyes. It never works, but there is an endless supply of people willing to try.
