Directors liked him because he showed up on time and remembered his lines. That, of course, did not make him a great actor, or even a particularly good one.

So FOX broadcasting the speech was intended to embarrass Trump? That might be the dumbest excuse I've ever heard.
More likely, they just couldn't see how it would embarrass him. Not to mention they know their audience is one of the few who still want to see Trump make an ass of himself.
By that standard, 99% of actors are failures. Reagan made a decent living as an actor. Most actors are unable to do that and most of those who do make a living at it barely scrape by.
