Hello !

I tried to put a photo (my head from side-on) on my Avatar.
But it is still « waiting for moderation » after many days.

I tried to put also a photo (me lying on a towel on a beach) on my Member Profile Header Image.
But it seem it as been rejected.

And yet, these photos respect the guideline (no nipple, no butt, no genitals, etc.) even on the beach one (these body parts are hidden).

So, what is the problem ?

Thanks,
Caro

For me, a week is generally "many" days…
And the photos are real, taken by my husband with a film camera and put on my computer by scan.
No AI : On one is my face side-on, the only modification on the other is a red heart to hide my butt (I'm Lying on a beach).

Changing your avatar takes a long time. I've got my other two pen names awaiting moderation ( they defaulted to the profile picture a while back ) and I prefer the avatars I used to have on the forum, so I'm finally getting around to making that change.

I don't think I'm quite to a week yet, but I remember the last time I did an update, it took at least a couple of weeks, and it seems like it was probably longer. So long as the little banner at the bottom of the options page says "User avatar uploaded successfully and waiting for moderation." then it's still in progress. All you can do is try to forget about it and be pleasantly surprised when it finally happens. LOL

Don't forget, there's exactly one human moderator and she gives stories priority over everything else (series, avatars, etc.).

Can I add, I've tried adding a couple of pictures of myself - inappropriate ones (nudes), but not AI or anything, and they got refused. I went to check and saw that they violated the community guidelines - fine. But why do I see many users who have naked pictures on their profiles? More graphic even than the ones I tried to post. Is it because they were added before the rules became stricter? Genuinely curious.

Probably. The "no nudity" policy is only a year or two old.

There was an avatar purge last year some time when a whole bunch of AI avatars disappeared and folk had to reload their images.
