The Lit boards have become fascinating to me, for a reason that is quite unrelated to my original purpose for checking out this site. The General Board and Politics Board are a living and breathing microcosm of a much bigger and still-developing story about the thirty-some years of brainwashing within the American right-wing movement, in large part starting with Rush Limbaugh's radio show.

FGB is a great example, but there are many more to choose from on Lit. FGB is the guy who once said he always knows what to think by just taking the opposite stance of what the "liberals" say or do.

This, in a nutshell, has made it relatively easy for a large portion of the American population to be easily manipulated by strong personalities.

Actual experts 9n public opinion and propaganda such as James Carville whose business it is to influence large portions of the population have remarked upon the fact that Democrat voters are much easier to persuade than Republicans.

The thing most striking about you liberals is you cannot conceive of the idea that other people might actually harbor opinions and desires that differ from yours. If their opinions differ from yours than they're obviously stupid, gullible and easily led.

In this election, I had no party. I am Canadian. I just watched the entire circus unfold, and hoped for the best. I would rather have any Republican of merit than this nut. It is often said that when the U.S. sneezes Canada catches a cold. I fear a far worse malady is ahead, for everyone.

Obama, obsessed with destroying the USA from within...Israel and other allies know they could NOT count on him. Our enemies laugh at him and wonder how we could so blind to elect him a second time.

He has no honor. No integrity and when facing our enemies and non friends NO balls.

Putin is smart enough to dismiss what he is doing (making things as tough as possible for the President Elect so that he will be so busy fixing the huge fucking mess Obama is going to make at the last minute) and wait for the new Government and sanity to be installed.

The only reason we are not fainting is that he seems to pick fairly decent people to his cabinet and other offices appears not to be extremely left or right wing.
