Quest for Life

Magic and Mayhem

OOC: sorry everyone I havent been on much lately too much stuff going on here.

Leroy held the charm at his throat in his hand for a moment and began chanting words softly, as he did so the clouds began to thicken and darken slowly the sound of thunder rolled through the forest. As he chanted the clouds massed together over the worst of the fires destructive path and began disgourging gallons of rain, extenguishing small parts ofthe fire, and helping to control other sections. then with a leap Leroy dismounted his horse giving a nod to the mysterious woman astride the horse he dissapeared into the forest.

Running through the forest dodging trees and thickets easily Leroy ran through the forest all the while chanting to himself. As he passed animals here and there they turned their head as if listening to something, but no sounds came from the passing creature. then ater a split second of listening they fled herding their young, and moving swiftly in the direction leroy had just come.

Faster and faster he ran straight towards the blazing fire and once he reached it he passed though the flames as if they were not there, yet as he passed they were not there anymore. Just the smoking charred leaves and limbs, and the occasional body of some poor creature of the forest. Abruptly Leroy staggers, then falls hitting the ground with such force the ground around him splits open and he slowly sinks into the dirt. Breathing heavily, and holding his head leroy laid there watching the smaller fires that the rain nor his poassing had put out crackling, and he watched as they were one by one extinguished by Yruddry, the guards, the stranger on the horse, and Cera.... He laid there watching and resting passing into unconciousness a few times. Hearing his name called several times, but not yet having the energy to respond. He laid there and slept......

OOC: hope the post wasnt too long, and am not trying to hog the show, but Leroy has a few tricks that are yet to be explored.

Yruddry

It was several hours before the group rose out of the debris-choked river. Except for Leroy, their attempts to stop the fire had been laughingly ineffectual. None of them had ever been so close to such raw, destructive, elemental fury. The ashen ground was still hot and the blackened trees around the river smoldered fiercely. Ghast had returned, looking nastier than anyone had ever seen.

Yruddry led the first team of horses to the bank. The second team had panicked briefly at the height of the fire's passing, and before the woman from the forest could calm them, a lot of their foodstuffs had fallen into the filthy river. The others led the rest of the horses out, and everyone assembled on the riverbank. Yruddry looked them over. They were all a sorry lot. The blowing ash stuck to their wet bodies instantly, and all quickly became the same gray as their surroundings.

Yruddry wasted no time. "All right, we need to get out of here as fast as possible. I think there's a town about a day's ride over that hill, if the fire didn't go that way. I don't think it was traveling in that direction, but I don't know how wide the front was. Leroy," he turned to the big Celt, "we need to find the fastest way over that hill. Unles you know of a route?" he asked the wild-looking woman.

The people and wagons began to trudge through the desolate landscape.
