Question about cock rings

I was very interested in getting a cock ring. So one day I bought a 2" dougnut style cock ring. I did not expected it to be so thick or big. So since I have been wanting one for like 2 months, I rushed to put it on. I did and started to play with myself to get myself hard to see how it actually felt.

All I can say is that is your cock supposed to be changing colors and is it supposed to hurt? I think I should have gotten the 2 1/4" (I think that was the size) ring instead of this one. Maybe even that is going to be too small. I don't know but can someone please fill me in on this? Obviously I didn't do enough research on it.

Thanks

It sounds as if the ring you bought might be made of an inflexible material such as steel or brass. If that's the case, you may want to buy one that is either adjustable or flexible. My experience is very limited in this area, but I don't think that you should be experiencing much pain if you're using a cock ring properly.

You may also want to read the threads on cock rings that are indexed in The blank manual sticky at the top of this forum.

Well you are right that it is made of steel. I love this ring but think maybe I should get a bigger one. If that doesn't work then I will get a rubber one. Thanks for the info.

Yikes!

Been a while since I posted, but had to on this one.

You simply must do some research!!!! I think that if you are inexperienced with a cock ring, perhaps you should not be using a metal one. Learn with an adjustable leather strap first. If a cock ring hurts...thats bad...very bad. Look up "corporal fibrosis." Sounds like you metal ring is WAY too tight! Also, for a beginner, a correctly fit cock ring should be left on no more than 10 min. Even for advanced users, 20 min is pushing using any signifacant restriction.

Even a small guys erect girth is usually over 3"... so use only enough restriction to get a good effect... no more. Think adjustable. Also, you did not mention if you use it around your cock only, or around your cock and balls?? They are used both ways you know...

OK, there are some women that like the feel of smooth metal rubbing their labia and clit, but unless you have mastered the more subtile motions to take advantage of that, a metal ring is no better than an adjustable one...worse possably. Penis pain is not a path learning those skills!

Adjustable rings allow one to ...well..adjust! lol! You can learn what your proper size should be, etc. Easy to switch an adjustable from cock and balls..to just cock too. When I use one, I almost always prefer a leather adjustable. There is a whole art to these little devices, like with so much gear. Learning its PROPER applications in all their glory is a good skill to have, but like so many things in life, and sex, exqusite rewards can come with dangerous complications.

Do you really have to ask

Let us know if it falls off - that's always a bad sign!

:nana: Cock rings are great, its like wearing underpants without the pants, supportive, but yet free. Put simplistically, it rubs the parts that your cock can’t reach, because its busy rubbing the parts your fingers or tongue can’t reach. Don’t buy one from a sex shop or site, just get down to a good hardware shop, I think they might frown on you wanting to check it for size and girth, but you can get rubber or steel rings for a fraction of the cost.:nana:

Thanks for the feedback. This is the first time I have bought something without doing much research on it. This is surely too small for me. I am looking into buying an adjustable one. I am using it around both cock and balls.

Everyone asks a stupid question from time to time.

Thanks again everyone. I will go hang my head in shame now for being stupid.

Well as Mr. Garrison said on South Park, "Children remember there are no stupid questions...just stupid people." Seriously, I tried a cock ring with my girl friend once, and only once. It was a proper fit, was suppossed to increase pleasure, but it only made my cock numb. She loved it, I was hard for a hell of a long time, but couldn't feel a thing. I mean, I'm a giving lover, but not THAT giving...

:nana: This gives new meaning to the term ‘numbnuts’, are you sure you weren’t using a strap-on, by mistake. You need to re define your definition of a ‘proper fit’ before your cock drops off, as it's not supposed to make it go numb. :nana:

I bought my first one recently, actually a pack of three different sizes, made of silicone. The largest one worked great and there was no pain. My wife said it made my cock much bigger.

i had one that i tried about a year ago, it had a peice of plastic where it came together and ajusted, (will probably sound stupid here in a sec) that pushed up into my penis and made it hurt, my wife really liked it, but it didn't do it for me, i don't know if i was just wearing it wrong or what, but i'd like to try another one eventually

Cock Rings take a few tries to get right. When they are the right fit and worn properly they can increase longevity. Your GF will always enjoy it more than you do. They are designed to decrease your sensativity (not make you penis numb though). There are important things to remember though..,

1: The ring you use should be quite a bit larger than your penis since it has to wrap around you balls as well.

2: NEVER where the ring for more than 30 minutes and that is pushing it.

3: It should not move, it should stay in place and where? There is a sensative spot deep at the base of your penis.. this is where it sits. If it is a gates of hell style, ring 1 should be in this spot.

4: Constantly getting hard and soft will be uncomfortable.

5: Leave the stainless steel rings for the pros, stick to latex and rubber based until you get used to the sensation (or lack there of)

Actually, some are meant to go around both the cock and balls, while others are meant to go around ONLY the cock.

I have worn the metal one a few more times and it seems still to hurt but not as bad. It does numb it a bit but I can still feel. I think I should have gotten the 2 1/4" ring instead of the 2".

I just recently bought a beaded cock ring with very strong magnets. The only problem is that the thing is a little too big for it does not make my cock extra hard or thick. It makes a great bracelet though :D

Ring Ring!

socalsurfer: Hello?

socalsurfer's penis: "You know that 2" cock ring? It hurts! You should see it down here, a bunch of the cells that hold the blood that keeps me hard are exploding! Even the nerve cells are getting smashed! Keep doing this and my warning system will get all fucked up! Don't blame me if you can't get me up when your are 30!"

...but not as bad. It does numb it a bit ..

Ring Ring!

socalsurfer: Hello?

socalsurfer's penis: "Hey, forget about that last call, a lot of the wounded nerve cells died already, the warning system is already burning out. Oh the horror! You should see it down here man, deal cells bodies lying around everywhere, piling up fast. Hey I know you can't feel it that well anymore cause some of the nerves died, thats why I called."

... but I can still feel.

Ring Ring!

socalsurfer:"Hello?"

socalsurfer's penis: "Won't feel it for long if you keep it doing this to me! After the lymph system hauls all the guts of the dead cells away and all this scar tissue down here hardens up and blocks off the blood, it won't matter if you feel anything or not, because I'm gonna go permanently on strike! Not even Viagra will get me back to work."

I think I should have gotten the 2 1/4" ring instead of the 2".

Ring Ring!

socalsurfer:"Hello?"

socalsurfer's penis: "Whatever... but if it hurts or makes me go numb I'm still going on strike! You know how to play dominoes? Better learn how quick, cause if you don't figure this out damn fast thats all the socialsurfing you are gonna be doing."

Seriously socalsurfer, aside from getting cardiovascular disease, repeatedly making your cock hurt and go numb... even if you can still feel something... is the best possable way to make yourself impotent. And unlike other forms of impotence, Viagra will not be much help. That it does "does not hurt that bad" now... is a very bad sign and alarming. When it comes to your penis, hurt=damage! Other bad things can happen too, your penis can curl up like a pigs tail. Seriously, you could wake up like that tomorrow if you don't stop this nonsense.

Cockrings are not supposed to be used this way!

hey thanks for the warning asshole.
socalsurfer, as I read through all the (accurate) advice you got on this thread, which all boils down to:
1) It should not (NEVER!) hurt.
2) It should not (NEVER!) make your penis numb
...it was apparent from your last post that you were not grasping WHY that advise is true.

I apologize if my attempt to give your penis a voice, a way to tell you IN WORDS what each sensation (of lack of same) really means and the consequences of all that, was a bit snarky.

But I am hopeing your agitated reaction means the message got through to you.

And anyone else that will read this thread!

You cannot "train" your penis to take a size it was not meant for.. it will not "build" itself up to be able to handle the wrong size. IT IS NOT A MUSCLE!
It is a corporal vascular structure, and your descriptions of your newest experiments with your 2" ring was a pure description of the path to self induced corporal fibrosis.

Not sure why you made that post actually... I got the sense you were looking for some validation of your latest experiment...because "it did not hurt as bad". As I said, if that is the case...that is alarming.

What irked me, given all the advise you got from everyone, was that it is apparent you still have NOT taken the time to research this for yourself and understand what is so dangerous about all this and how to use these things properly. In this case that sort of attitude will only affect you, but what about something like STD's? Are we going to experiment away "in the dark" until it afffects someone else?
