What school are you in?

I went to Gateway College of Massage Therapy in Nebraska. I took the 1000 hour course. I figured who knows where I would end up.

MTI, Cambridge, MA. 900 hours of "basic training" with another 500 or so hours in sports massage
optional. I'm thinking of pursuing Watsu as a further goal.

I trained in Thai massage as well as Medical. I will be starting my own business in cooperation with a medical doctor in January. Right now I work with another therapist in her offoce, and decided it's time to spread my wings and leave the nest. I learned a lot from her and we are very close and hate to loose that connection, but she is very supportive in my decision on leaving.

Best of luck to you. I know a couple of recent grads from my school who are doing quite well in private practice. It's kind of a booming industry around these parts.

Thanks Great. I appreciate the luck. Mainly because I'm nervous as hell. But, I know I'm good at what I do because the doctor has had lots of massage from other people, and she asked me to come to work with her. So I must be doing something right anyway. I will be the only therapist in the tri-state area working with a doctor. What an honor.

So true! I'm hearing that Harvard Medical School is working with MTs on developing a protocol for perscribing mt by general physicians. You might be in a perfect setup to take advantage of that! Then you'll have the unfathomable pleasure of dealing with insurance.......

I already do some insurance cases now. Nothing elaborate though, and the doctor office said they would be able to do the billing for me for barter on massage. I figure it to be a win win situation.
