Truly, Ally, hats off... spiffing!

Have you sourced some pictures for our front page yet DarlingBri? I can only hold the press so long, and then all these words come tumbling out ...

Get me a coffee.

I'll see you at the press conference this afternoon.

Thanks.

LOL

I have an idea...instead of the same old GOP vs. Dem crap, let's have a contest to see who can find the world's best looking David Horowitz!
Who said anything about "the same old GOP vs. Dem crap?"

I believe you are the one who stated "Colin Powell, whom ignorant people on the right like to call an African-American, is actually of Jamaican descent." I just asked you if Colin Powell himself considers himself to be African-American, does that make him part of the "ignorant people on the right?"

It's the name calling (ignorant people on the right) that got my attention and caused me to do the research in the first place. No fair trying to change the topic after you've been caught red-handed with a slur in your mouth.

Plus, not all of the Black people in the U.S. are descendants of Slaves. Colin Powell, whom ignorant people on the right like to call an African-American, is actually of Jamaican descent. That's a big difference.

There were 300,000 African slaves shipped to Jamaica, a country smaller than Connecticut. So I imagine if you are black and have Jamaican lineage, you also have African lineage.

J. C. Watts is actually Swiss by the way.

Modifiers

Just because DarlingBri brought it up I thought I might refute one thing he said about modifiers. It also happens in the frozen tundra that we like to call Canada. Although it isn't wide spread there are Italian-Canadian Interest groups and African-Canadian groups and what have you. It kind of bothers me but in a country founded on the notion of immigration it isn't all that surprising to see people retain strong ties to the country of their families origin.

Also as to what Cheyenne said in response to Laurel's comment about "Ingnorant people on the right." Do you contend that there is no such beast as a ignorant right winger? Laurel did not say "All right-wingers are by definition ignorant." She merely stated that when Republicans, who are oh so quick to point out that they embrace African Americans like my man CP, they be somewhat on the ignorant side and as Artie Ziff said "There's a differnce between ignorance and stupidity."
