Sometimes the taboo is arousing JUST because it is taboo.

I have known woman who have suffered terrible abuse, and yet like to role play age play which effectively recreates the circumstances of that abuse. However, in this case, the "abuse" is under the control of the person who had previously suffered. Now, they overwrite the previous memories with ones where they can derive pleasure.
