Beginning with Chapter 3 of my "Saturday Nights in the Dorm" a series, readers using this feature are skipping ahead one chapter. 3 sends them to 5, 5 to 7, etc. If you navigate back to my author page and go to 4, at the end you'll be prompted to go to 6, etc. After Chapter 11, it sends readers back to 4.

Everything looks correct about the order in every place I look. Someone suggested I manually put it out of order, then correct it, and maybe that would fix it. Tried that. No dice.

I've messaged Laurel. I've messaged Manu.

Can anyone help?

Not for me. On the last page of Chapter 3, I'm offered Chapter 5 (see screenshot).

@Chase_Storm there are two ways for a series to form, automatically or manually. If this is an automatic series then you could try converting it to manual. The consequence of making a series manual is that you then need to add each new part to the series. But you are supposed to have complete control over how the pasts get added and ordered with a manual series. I don't know if this is the best route to fix this issue, but you can try it.

Thank you for confirming I'm not crazy (at least about this).

This series started out auto. I converted to manual when I discovered this problem, hoping it would help. No dice. Everything looks fine on the back end. I've even mixed up the chapters, saved the new order, and then gone back to put them in the right order. This still happens.

Your examples are of chapters 1 and 2 which, yes, work correctly.

This is an honest question. If you see no issues with the other chapters, it perhaps explains why all of my attempts to get help have been ignored.

That is a very weird bug.

You could delete and recreate the series. That would take a long time (because it takes forever to approve a new series) but it might work.
