You can start by going through tags. For example-I’ve tried looking for RAAC stories, but I don't really know how to search for them. So, if you could recommend some RAAC stories, I’d really appreciate it, as I’m very interested in the topic.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, really. I will read the story.I will shamelessly plug one by @Actingup and myself, It Just Ain't Going To Happen, about an estranged married couple and their college-age daughter who concocts a scheme to get them back together!
(I notice you have a few other requests for stories with a military husband, and stories with alternating husband/wife PoVs, and our story kind of fulfills those requests as well)
Probably the best reconciliation story ever written in the particular category. Loved it!I will shamelessly plug one by @Actingup and myself, It Just Ain't Going To Happen, about an estranged married couple and their college-age daughter who concocts a scheme to get them back together!

Unfortunately, many people dismissively label reconciliation as RAAC, even though RAAC (reconciliation at any cost) essentially means a reconciliation that takes place half-heartedly, mostly as a result of external pressures.RAAC is often framed as a criticism, and is one of the most divisive themes in Loving Wives. I think that it’s a really interesting area to tell a story in, particularly if the outcome is not a forgone conclusion. The other extreme of Burn The Bitch / Bastard tends to get more support!
Thanks, @Ianus4 - that's a really good insight on the reader's perspective on this, and I think explains why there are such a range of reactions. Thanks also for the recommendations - there are some great writers there.Unfortunately, many people dismissively label reconciliation as RAAC, even though RAAC (reconciliation at any cost) essentially means a reconciliation that takes place half-heartedly, mostly as a result of external pressures.
Stories of reconciliation are indeed divisive. On the one hand, I think this is the most challenging subgenre; it requires nuanced characters and a precisely crafted plot to be believable. On the other hand, the limits of forgiveness generally depend very much on the individual: in this case, the reader's personality and experiences. Yet, well-crafted reconciliation stories can offer the greatest catharsis. I have particular admiration for writers who can create memorable works in this subgenre.
I really doubt the 'best' (see @Ianus4's list of amazing stories), but thank you anyway! Also really glad you liked it. We certainly enjoyed writing it and reading all the various comments from different perspectives, even if some of them made us uncomfortable. @PennyThompsonProbably the best reconciliation story ever written in the particular category.
