Rejected work not showing notes

Hello!

I recently submitted a work that was rejected and sent back with notes in a file. For some reason I cannot open the file to read the notes. I've tried on several devices and browsers but it just takes me to a 404 page. Anybody else have similar issues?

I suspect that your story was rejected not with notes but because it has unresolved notes in the document. You need to resolve, accept, or reject them and resubmit. This is a known source of rejections.

That makes sense though there is a different file attached to the review page than the one I submitted. That's what is throwing the 404

Hard to guess at this without screenshots or direct access.

I would just make whatever changes you need to your original file, and submit a new version.

The issue though is that I don't know what changes they want because I can't access the file. I can try and tidy but it was already in a formatbI was ready to publish so I'd like to know what they are after. It's fine though. I submitted a help ticket so I'll see what they say.

It was on a word doc. It may very well be an unresolved note. I just wish I could open what the mods sent.

You have to figure it out yourself, from the rejection notice. The site won't give you anything specific from your text. It's a bit cryptic, but sounds like you've got some gunk left in your word document.

Try copy pasting into the Submission Page's text box - it might be more obvious finding the "notes" that way. You can edit in the form, if you find anything.

Have you found any unresolved notes or suggestions, perhaps from an editor or beta reader, in your original document?
