Rejecting the Bailout: Cry Wolf Backlash?

So if the man in the street never feels the result of this credit crunch, here's our experience of the Great Panic of 2008:

A bunch of rich guys' investment houses go belly up. The rich guys start screaming it's the end of the world and they need our money. A bunch of politicians give our money to them. For the next ten years there's no money for the middle class -- no money for loans, no money for health care, no money for roads, no money for education, no money for nothing. We don't know if this is because of that 700 billion or because we're just getting screwed as usual. All we know is that a bunch of rich guys and politicians told us the sky was falling and told us we had no choice but to believe them.

Fucked again. That's why people are pissed. They're pissed because they're being steamrolled yet again. Yentzed. Dicked. Another invisible crisis, like Iraq and the WMD's that didn't exist, and the Second Terrorist Attack that never happened. That Second Terrorist Attack that turned our lives upside down with all those different colored alerts and the lines in airports and the phone tapping and suspension of rights. Now Big Brother's reaching into our pockets and we're damned pissed.

BELEGON

The story I hear is everyone is adding pork to the bailout.
