Theo waited until he saw the boy's body vapourised before he and Ray ran forward towards where Helen lay. Ray reached her first and gathered her up tenderly in his arms. They headed back to the car, Theo holding Helen's head in his lap as Ray drove. Theo could feel her body against him writihing under the skin as changes began to take place.
When they arrived back they put her to bed; both could feel elasticity beginning to change in her skin, an amazing change in hair colour already happening.
There was an akwardness - who would stay with her? "You stay first Ray," Theo said. "I'll stand guard. Look -" the matter was difficult. "Whatever Helen decides about - us - afterwards? I hope you stay. We couldn't have done this without you. You'll get a reward for your work."
Ray nodded. "I just want to help her. I don't know what'll happen once she's - changed. She will have you again." He trailed off.
"I know she wants you, too," Theo said simply. Ray smiled, a genuine pleasure on his face. Theo grinned. "I'm sure she'll show you that in the morning."

The night passed; at some point Theo and Ray exchanged places and as dawn broke Theo looked at his wife sleeping peacefully, her body now even more perfect than it had been in her youth. He smiled and stroked her cheek gently. She stretched as if waking from a long sleep.
"Am I -" she began. He nodded and watched as she got up naked and went to the mirror. She gasped and for long minutes looked at herself at every angle, also allowing Theo to see her and to feel himself becoming aroused, wanting to be the first to make love to her new form.
She walked over, slowly. Confident, not hiding anything, her hips
swaying seductively.
He took her in his arms. "I want to go to bed with you," he said,
simply.
