Hey guys I'm writing a story that takes place in Chicago and the problem is I don't live there and can't travel. Besides, nobody knows a city like someone who grew up and lived their whole lives in it. I need some info from the inside.

Like if you wanted to go to a seedy night club full of bored over-privilaged young people, where would you go? The type of place nobody questions too much what those two are doing half-naked in the corner.

And if I wanted to get to Grant Park from the Nightclub district, which roads would I take after midnight? How is the traffic at those hours?

I need the skinny on the Windy City!

I'd really love to get a source who is an expert on Chicago. That would make it SO much easier to write this story, and maybe even turn it into a novel.

Hi NT. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and live near Chicago now as well. I never really did the night life scene. But I will ask around and see if my friends or sisters can help!

hmmmmm...the over privilaged really don't go to the seedy places...southwest side of chicago is loaded with a good amount of seedy places that yeah, you could do just about anything in there and no one would bat an eye.

to Grant Park from the night club district....I'm gonna give you from Rush Street which I think is still a club district...straight up state street to randolph hang a left go about 3 blocks to grant park

hey needfull....i'm a southwest suburbs girl. i have been to a few seedy nightclubs (imagine that) back in the day, but i couldn't tell you how to get there....i had my head down and my mouth full on the way if you need any info on the southwest burbs, i'm your woman. good luck with your project.

hmmmmm...the over privilaged really don't go to the seedy places...southwest side of chicago is loaded with a good amount of seedy places that yeah, you could do just about anything in there and no one would bat an eye.

This is AWESOME! Yeah it helps and I will come here if I have another question. Right now I am trying to get my main character from Grant Hospital to a fictional nightclub (we'll assume on Rush Street) To The Buckingham Fountain all by about 4:30 am for a meeting with the Master Vamp of the city.

Of course I assume its relatively easy to sneak into the park after closing?

Thanks AS2U, I might indeed need to know about the Suburbs. Like for instance, if a well-to-do family of three lived on a plot of land where they could have their own family cemetary behind the house, where would they live in relation to the Chicago Metroplex?

I wonder if anyone can tell me, does Grant Park shut down Buckingham fountain after 11pm? I also wonder how easy it would be to sneak in after closing. I imagine it wouldn't be that hard, such a huge place. Any help is appreciated.
