Resident Evil: Desperation

NINA

Michael turned slowly and stared openly at the woman before him.

Nina in turn stared back at him. He hadn't dropped his weapon.

By rights, she shouldn't have survived as long as she had. Not alone here without any help. But she had.

"I said drop your weapon." Her voice was calm and her eyes never wavered.

"No."

This answer surprised her.

"I'm not putting it down... do you have ANY idea whats out there?"

"Yes... and how do I know you're not one of them?"

"Do I look like one of them?"

"No... but then then the others didn't at the start either..." She glanced to the door he'd just entered from.

"Shh!" She warned, pushing past him. She slipped out into the hallway. There she saw it crawling forward. Sniffing the air. A human gone horribly wrong. Sniffing always... searching... food.

She stalked up to it and twisted around with a vicious kick that sent it's head flying away from the rest of it's body. It's body took a few seconds to register it before colapsing.

"Come on!" She urged Michael, "it's not safe here anymore!" She scampered down the stairway looking frantically from left to right trying to decide which way to go. Suddenly the confident girl who had decapitated the thing with military precision was gone and she appeared to be, just a sweet lost child battling to survive.

Ray

I hadn't noticed the other man at first. i'd been too distracted with getting myself to cover, but I nearly ran into him heading inside.
I stepped back, letting him pss me, as he didn't sem to notice me either, then followed him through the door, lifting my shotgun to face whatever may be waiting for us.
I made sure the door was closed, not even looking around me at first, then turned to the man.
"Whatever your name is...whoever you are...It's good to see someone else alive..." I said.

Daniel

I grit my teeth and slam headlong into the side of the spider, not letting land on the guy.I roll over and it lands on m.I take a few shots at its underbelly blowing its insides outside.....

Denholm

“JESUS H. CHRIST, MATE!!”
Denholm nearly jumped out of his skin. The voice behind him had startled him as no other being still alive had ever done, with perhaps the exception of the deceased young lady that tried to bite his fingers off a few minutes before.
"Alive? Sneak up behind me again like that again and I may drop dead of a heart attack."
The man looked nervous, a fact that could be explained if there were other ded folk traipsing about the town. Its the sort of thing you just can't get used to.
“You might want to point that bloody pellet shooter in another direction. I’d hate to have it go off and spread me bean across the far wall.”
Denny was trying to recover a bit from the shock of the dead woman and that probably explained the fact that this guy got past him without his noticing him.
He needed to settle down.
Mistakes like that can get you killed.
He straitened his tie, “Right then, my names Denholm Forrest. Can you explain what the devils going on here?”

Jeremy

I watched as the man that had saved me fired shot after shot into the thorax of the spider, blasting huge holes into it. I saw that the spider wasn't going to give up with a fight though as is began to move its head down. I brought up my shotgun but knew that there was no way that I could use it with the man under the spider and put it down then pulled out the two pistols, firing shot after shot into the spider.

daniel

Mustering every ounce of strength i fling the spider off me and roll away.I pick up the mans shotgun and start firing at it......

Ray

Before i could answer the man,I heard gunshots, repeated shots, and very close, then a shotgun blast.
I looked at him, unsure if he knew what was going on or not. He seemed surprised as well.
"Let's check this out..." I said, heading toward the sound.

Jeremy

I dropped the two empty clips of ammunition from my pistols to the ground and looked at the spider, seeing with shock that it was still alive. I couldn't believe that after what the man and I had done to it it was still alive and moving. I slammed two clips into my pistols and after cocking them brought them up and started firing shot after shot into the spider again, knocking it to the ground. I watched as it started to move again and shouted out, "What does it take to kill you you ugly fuck!"

"All right, you seem a decent Bloke. Mind if I grab me self something in the way of self defense?"
While Denny had heard the gunfire too, sounded like a shotgun or something equally noisy, he was beginning to realize that walking about hits little burg without adequate firepower would be foolhardy.
Shotgun man looked at him blandly for a moment then said, " Sure, help yourself. Make sure you load up on ammo though..."
Then he was gone, through the door running towards the sound of the shootout.
"Curiouser and curiouser."
What else could he do? He followed, slipping out the door and into the cold dark night.

Ray

I left the man in the front room and headed back toward the sound of the shots. I froze when I came upon it. Two men were fired into a giant spider, already torn to pieces but somehow still moving.
I waited, standing behind them, thinking, if I fire while they're preoccupied, they might not realize I'm on their side. Besides, who knew if the firearms would kill the things at all? Might just be a waste of ammunition.

daniel

I was starting to realize that i was wasting ammunition.I stopped when i realized that i had in my pocket what could kill it.I yelled to the other man to cover me for just a second i dug into my pocket for a small vile.

I open the top and coat 2 shotgun shells in it.I load them into the gun and replace the vile in my pocket.

I fire them into its side then yell to the man to take cover.Next thing we know the spider explodes from the inside out...

Jeremy

I looked over at the man and then at the spider in amazement. I slid my pistols back into their holsters and walked up to the man, grabbing my shotgun.

"What the hell was that stuff. What did you do to my shotgun?!"

I walked towards the spider and gave what was left of it a kick. The thing had exploded outwards and what was left was a disgusting mess. I turned to the man that had killed the spider and said, "Okay. Now I need to ask who you are and what you are doing here."

I then heard a noise near the door of the store and turned suddenly, bringing my shotgun up and saw another man standing there.

"And just who are you?"

Ray

"And just who are you?" One of them asked.
"Does it matter?" I responded. "Whoever I am and you two are and that guy out there is, we all have to get somewhere safe. This place obviously won't cut it."
I remembered my place then. We were all in the same situation. I doubted the the man who'd asked me that knew any more than i did, especially given that he'd asked the other what he'd done to the shotgun to make it kill the spider, something I was curious of myself.
I took in a deep breath, trying to calm for the first time since steering my car off the road.
"My name is Ray Daniels. I'm here looking for someone. Now, who are you two? And what the fuck is going on outside...AND in here?"

Daniel

"Just a simple anti toxin," i told them, "It didnt hurt your shotgun," i assured the man.

"My name is Daniel Blake and i actually only came here to get gas in my car because i ran out," i said.

I didnt tell them i was running scared because Umbrella was hot on my tail because i stole the only anti T-virus serum and them papers that held the secret to making more.

I turned to ray, as he said his name was and said, " if we can get to a safe place I can explain whats going on,"....

Ray

"I don't know the geography of the town here, but I passed the police station. It's a pretty small town. I'm guessing that if there was a safe place, it would be there," I replied.
"By the way," I added, "There's another guy out here. Judging by your reaction to me, I figured you'd want to know."
"Let me grab some ammo and whatnot and we'll get the hell out of here..."

Denholm

Denholm looked around a bit. The sun had set by now and it was painfully obvious that the power was out in Desperation.

There was a counter on the left side of the store, the king with the cheap formica surface you find in pawnshops, hospital and police precincts. The glass of the front case was smashed and, he could only assume, most of the weapons there were gone. In fact, all Denholm could see was a wide assortment of rifles and shotguns. Near the top of the rack he spotted a very nice Mossberg.

Snatching it quickly he grabbed two boxes of shell from the back counter and, upon finding the chamber empty, he loaded it with the house brand buckshot.
Secondary weapon? he thought.
There was a Glock 9mm on the floor, fired till it was empty, the slide thrown back revealing the empty chamber. He picked it up and popped out the clip.
"Shit."
Realizing that there had to be more ammo he rummaged quickly through the rest of the ammo boxes until he found some of the appropriate ones for the pistol in question with a blue shield on them.
"Marvelous. Teflon coated. Awfully nice of the Yanks to leave these lying about."
Two more boxes stuffed into his coat, he turned and there, underneath the pilfered register were a few more clips that may or may not have fit the Glock.
"Sod it all." He grabbed a hand full and stuffed them in the remaining pockets.
The other guy had shot out the store through the back. Denholm followed suit hoping that the fellow would be waiting for him out side.
Not that he was afraid of being alone. He needed to find this Doctor Daniel Blake and then find out what in the hell was going on in this town.
He emerged from the darkened storeroom and there was the helpful gent that shared the armory with him. He was staring across the street. He was talking to two other men who looked as though they had been to hell and back.
"Now there is something you don't see everyday." There was what appeared to be a very large bug, maybe a spider, on its back, in some general discomfort (judging by the severed legs and continuous volley of fire that had been applied by the individuals across the street).
The man just turned and looked at him crossly, as if to say Asshole!
“Who the hell are you,” the one with the shotgun demanded.

Denny extended his hand, "Denholm Forrest. Lovely town you have yourself here."

Jeremy

I looked at the guy and thought that he must be nuts..... there was no way anyone could be happy in this town. He looked around the store and saw his bag sitting on the floor. He rushed out the back way and looked down the alley, seeing if anything was about.

"Seeming as we are in this together I might as well give you my name. It's Jeremy Redfield and I'm here to find out what happened to my brother and sister. Now, where are we going?"

Michael

I watched as the girl ran down the hallway. She stopped, a began to look around as if she was lost. I wondered how long she had been holed up in that room. I approached her quickly, grabbed her hand and turned left, pulling her along with me. She seemed surprised, but came along peacefully. I led her down the stairs. We approached the door, when suddenly it flew off it's hinges. Standing before us was a giant creature, humaniod but deformed and seven feet tall. It stared right at me as I stepped back, holstering my 9mm and pulling out the Magnum. I pushed the girl into a side hallway. I cocked the gun.

"This is not going to be pretty. First chance you get, run across the street and get the others. They're in the gunshop. Tell them to haul ass here ASAP!"

With that, I fired two shots into the creature, which didn't even seem to phase the thing, but I got it's attention. It charged me and swung at me with a clothesline type maneuver, which I ducked. It swung again, I lept back and fired two more shots into it. Still nothing. I was going to need some serious help with this thing. I ran towards the stairs, and climbed halfway, firing the last two rounds into it. Still no real affect. But it moved past the girl . . . this was her chance!

"GO NOW!!!" I yell to her. I see her charge out of the uilding as I quickly reload another six rounds into the Magnum.

"I hope the get here soon . . ." I thought as I ran up the stairs, this thing hot on my heels.

Ray

I was about to suggest that we leave through the front, if we could get out, so as not to be forced to move on foot (whatever those dogs were, they were too fast to run from), when I heard the shots, this time louder, more powerful.
Across the street, the building I'd heard the shots from before I was certain.
Peering out into the alleyway, seeing only a few of the creatures, I slipped out past Jeremy, saying "Ray Daniels, nice to meet you,) as I went by. I passed the man in the alley for the second time in three minutes and was heading around front, knowing that several of the zombies would be waiting there for me.

Daniel

I hurried out the door past jeremy. Redfield...hmmmm i know the name from somewhere......

I looked at Daniel and saw that he was trying to think of something but right now that wasn't what we needed. I walked over to him and put my hand onto his shoulder, causing him to look up at me and said, "Come on. We have to get out of here before more of those things come back and try to kill us. Now are you coming with us or are you just going to stand there and wait for them?!"

Daniel

Thats when i remembered."Clair," i said almost to low for anyone to here.I nodded towards him and loaded my gun."Lets go," i said..

Ray

They were scattered everywhere. I had to dodge left and right, literally slipping through fingers and grasps just to get by them and to the other side. I hoped the others, if they were following, would have as much luck.
I saw the girl then, moving toward us at a fairly quick pace, not seeming to see me yet.
"Hey!" I shouted, waving my arms over my head to get her attention. "Hey! What's going on in there?"
