resubmitting a story

Hi everyone, I had submitted a story that was sent back due to supposed underage content in it. This was a mystery to me since all the sex in it involves people well over the age of 18 and there are no underage characters in it. I did take out some references to one character's youth even though they were in no way sexual references and I tried resubmitting it after using the same form I received when it was sent back to me.
However, even though I resubmitted it, it is not in my list of pending stories and seems to have disappeared into the ether
Should I start from scratch with it? I used the submission form that was sent to me to send in the revised copy but I am not sure if that was the right way to do it
Any advice would be much appreciated

The thing to keep in mind with automated filters is that they don't necessarily understand context (semantics). They're often looking for words, phrases, or combinations of words that match a pattern associated with prohibited content.

So even if every sexual encounter in your story involves adults, references to a character's youth can still trigger a filter if the wording resembles patterns it's been configured to flag. The filter isn't necessarily determining that the character was underage during the sex. It's detecting a combination of terms and sending it down the rejection path.

That's one of the inherent problems with pattern-based filtering: it can produce false positives as well as miss things that don't match the patterns. Humans understand context. A keyword or pattern matcher doesn't.

Given that you've already removed the references to the character's youth, IMO, I'd resubmit the revised version and see what happens.

Make sure you've gone through the whole Preview Submit tick the box again cycle - are you sure it's still not in Draft?
