I was on hiatus when Just Another House Party came up, but I'm here now, so I can finally review it - over 2 weeks after release!
I'm gonna start pawkily. Do this story live up to the hype I had for it after reading RLD's updates? No. Do it live up to his best works? Also no. Have I enjoyed it? Most certainly yes. The thing is, this story really has a charm, so even if it lacks here and there, it's still a good read.
Let's start from the main couple. Finally, 4 years after he debuted, we've got Ali Khan as a main male character - fucking finally! And she's every once a great guy he was teased us, really the Cute One to Brad's Nice One and Kyle's Mean One. True, I'd prefer to his motives to be better flashed out, but it wasn't me who he should fully satisfy, but Cassie. And she's very nice too! Some time ago I had a privilage to read an alpha version of this story and Cassie was unsufferable there. Now she's quirky, also with her SJW attitude, but she become a really likeable person.
When it comes to their sex, it's quite a different style than RLD's usual scenes. The only fully fleshed one (the first one) is kind of short and not as position-filled like the previous ones - instead, we get a few shorter scenes which makes the whole work feel somehow like a marathon (which is here as well, although not as long as usual as well). The main motifs (Cassie coming back for more of Ali and the couple filling all kind of spaces during a party) are pretty lighthearted, which is quite surprising given the whole thing started by the girl devastated after catching her boyfriend cheating on her. But, well, there's a lot of Eroshire humour here - the intro is freaking hilarious, although I'd rather have it more about Ali than Kyle. I mean, Kyle certainly deserved what happened here, and I was giggiling maddly, but still.
There is only one thing I truly didn't like but I'm gonna put it in spoiler.
Do better, RLD!
But except for that and some minor thing, I enjoyed this story. It's short and not as sex-filled as Eroshire tales usually are, but still has a lot of charm and I had a lot of fun with it.
