"Rooooooooooad Triiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip," Whitney yelled at the top of her lungs while standing in her convertible bug.
Alicia or Ali smiled at her bestfriend and shook her head. "Shush before you bring my momma out here raising hell." As if her mother could hear her Ali's mom came out the door asking them why they were so damn loud.
"Hello Mrs. Johnson. I'm sorry. I'm just so excited that we're going cross country for the summer before college. I'll be quiet."
"And behave. You two women better act like ladies."
Ali rolled her eyes at her mom's cautions. "We'll be fine momma." Ali whispered for Whitney to drive now. Whitney put the pedal to the metal, screeched, and peeled off. Ali looked back to see her mother fumming. "That wasn't smart. Fuck!" Ali looked at her cell to see her mother was calling. She answered it dutifully and for the next hour was cursed out and reprimanded on the dangers of driving. Ali could have killed her bestfriend as Whitney laughed the whole time she drove.
Ali and Whitney were as different as could be in looks. Whitney had milky cream skin with blue eyes, and long blond hair. Ali had a caramel complexion, shoulder length jet black hair, and dark brown almost black eyes. Where as Whitney was slender Ali was shaped like an hour glass. She had curves for days and often hated not looking more like Whitney. Other than that the two girls were very simliar. They both were the only child to do corporate lawyers. They were both fun, wild, crazy, and often threw caution to the wind. They both gotten into Harvard. And they both were expected to follow in their father's footsteps and take over the business.
That was a lot of pressure and hence, the road trip across the country before college. The only time they both felt they could be wild before they went to their ivy league school and followed in their father's footsteps. They wanted one more good time. One more adventure before they were forced to grow up.
"Wanna stop here at this diner for food," Whitney asked. Ali had taken over the driving hours before and she shrugged thinking the place looked seedy, but pulling over anyways. She was tired of driving and being in the car.
