Robin Hood ?? sort of......

The woman asked me q couple questions, mainly about why I was wearing what I am. She also asked about the well. "Well first things first, this uniform was a failed disguise. When I had overheard the rumors about a raid, I decided to wait in my home dressed like this and pose as one of them. The captain entered my home though, and he knew all his soldiers. I was discovered almost instantly. Now as for the well, it was a suitable hiding spot.". I looked behind her, and saw a small gathering of people huddled in the back. I gave them a slight wave but that only scared them more than normal. "well you people sure know how to make me feel welcome," The man was waiting outside of the cave, most likely waiting for a patrol. Then I heard a familiar voice shouting. "that's the captains squad!"

Leo heard an armored footfall in the cave behind him. He turned rapidly, ulling his bow from his arm, knocking an arrow, and barely aimed as he released the arrow from his bow. It tore through the soldier's breastplate and he dropped to the ground. Leo looked behind him and waved everyone back. There had to be another way out of this cave. Another arrow released and the second soldier was dropped. More filed into the cave entrance. They were here for one thing: to crush the resistance before it gained power. Unfortunately for them, Leo had no intentions of letting the people in this cave die. Another arrow released. He backed up slowly, still firing off arrows. He followed the small group into a small tunnel in the back of the cave.

The soldiers continued streaming in the cave entrance. There must have been thirty or fourty of them sent after their party of less than ten. Another handful of soldiers hit the ground. A crossbow bolt whizzed past Leo's head and clattered against the wall next to him. He snapped off a shot and the archer hit the ground with an arrow embedded in his neck. He backed into a small doorway before the two soldiers in their group slammed it shut and bolted it down. Several small impacts, most likely crossbow bolts, thudded along the door as it closed. Leo turned to Idrial, then the man in the tattered uniform. He could have led those soldiers here. He knocked an arrow, the tip gleaming menacingly, and turned it to the man. Unless he explained himself a little more thoroughly, he would find an arrow through his heart.

"Well, for starters, you might want to get that arrow out of my face" I said to the man. "Because, to be honest, at this range, I could kill you 10 times faster than at the speed you could release that arrow, considering my hand isn't empty" I gestured upwards my sword, which was surprisingly close to his chest. "However, before you injure me and I kill you, and probably this girl considering her weapon isn't even out and nor is she sufficiently trained, why don't we both drop the weapons." The man, with his training, should obviously see this as a very obvious loss. I really don't like people who are untrustworthy.

ooc : just a side note i dont mind some things but please dont control my chars actions unless i give the ok.. i will post if given the chance.. her actions.. thank you..

inc :

Both Idrial and Rinehold picked up cross bows and stood to ether side of Leo as he used his bow to take down the claw soldjers entering the cave while the people began making there way farther back in the cave.. she spoke to Rinehold as he released another bolt and he gave her his short sword.. before he turned leaving them to defend while he began leading the others threw the cave tunels of all the people with them he had explored them the most and knew where the many caverns lead..

as they contined to back up Idrial still shooting the cross bow a short sword at her side now until they were safe behind a closed door... she stepped back out of reach as Leo turned twords Serapis aiming and arrow at point blank range twords him while at the same instant Serapis had his own sword pointed at Leo's chest..

I may be untrained sir.. as far as a sword goes but with this cross bow if you kill him you will be dead also.. for i am a very good shot..

Leo

This would turn out bad. For the man, that is.

"If you do not lower that weapon, you will find that training or not, you will die this very instant. Do not let your head get the better of you, or you will die ten times faster than you can even twitch that sword. You forget that all I need to do is let go, which will take less than a second, and you need to pull that sword back to begin your stroke, which will take more than a second. Even if you stab, you will be dead before the tip touches my throat."

He spoke for the second time, his voice containing a barely concealed malice with a promise of pain. He didn't exactly understand how this curr couldn't understand that he was outnumbered five to one, and that the Ranger had more than twice his experience due to his daily training under Halt. He would not be pushed around by this lowly swordsman. He felt Idrial move up next to him. He did not care if the man had a sword to his chest. If he wanted, he could take that sword and drive it through the man's heart before he could react, but he did not want to do that. They had soldiers trying to kick down the door between them, and they did not have time for this man's crazy antics. They needed a way out.

"ok, now that we both nkow were both screwed if this escalates, lets just deal with the problem at hand k??" I told the Ranger. This guy was pointing too many weapons at me. This is the second time since i met him. I dropped my sword.

Leo

Leo calmed down slightly as the man's sword hit the ground. He spoke sense. It was better this way. After all, if he attacked, Leo would shoot him. If Leo shot first, the man would attack. Either way they would both die. He released the tension on the string and lowered his bow. He then slid a foot under the blade of the sword on the ground and kicked it up into the air. He caught it by the handle and replaced it in the man's sheathe. He nodded just slightly at him before turning to Idrial. He placed a hand on her bow and lowered it for her. Now wasn't the time to kill each other. Maybe later.

He glanced back at the door. An axe poked it's head through. Not good. He motioned down the cave. They needed a way out. Leo pointed at Rinhold and motioned him forward. He would know the way through these caves. He caught Idrial's eye for just a second before giving her a gentle push down the cave. He turned and snapped off a shot through the opening in the door. A scream echoed through as Leo backed down the hallway after his companions. He backed into Idrial. He turned and motioned her down the cave again. Another unspoken message: We can talk later. He had gotten good and saying what he wanted without really speaking.

Whether he would really talk or not remained to be seen, as he had already gone over his usual speaking limit.

Serapis looked at both of them. "you guys go, ill catch up." Serapis told them. It was time to work. First, he set a fire trap on the ground which he made from random cave foliage, lamp oil, and a bow string waxer. Then, he pulled out both of his swords, prepared for the coming horde. They finally bashed through the door and about 15 of them filed in. Big mistake. As one rushed me, he set the trap off, killing all 15 and maybe more. As about 10 more came in, i rushed them before they could comprehend the explosion. I cave a quick chop to ones carotid artery, blood spewing everywhere as he choked on it. The next one I sliced at his knees, then as he dropped, removed his head. One caught on, and almost removed my hand, but i blocked it and sliced at his side. About half the remaining forces ran in sheer terror, calling me a demon, as i swept into the darkness. "Run as fast as you can!!!! Ill be there!!!" The captain finally came, and sweet justice was to be delivered. He Got his troops in line, then asked exactly what they were fighting. I was completely hidden, surronded by shadows, as i jumped out, sliced the captains leg muscle, broke his shin with a hard kick, then grabbed him. "Leave. Now. Or he dies." I covered his mouth, because i didnt know how loyal he was. he might just tell them to kill us both. As the soldiers filed out, they were met with a trap i placed earlier. Right on the inside of the door. The explosion took care of the last of them, and thats when i walked with my new "friend" to meet up with the others.

Gabriel Wyrmdal

Name: Gabriel Wyrmdal uses the name Wyvern
Age: 22
Height: 6'10"
Weight: 358 lbs
Class: Knight/Paladin
Physical description: Short white blond hair, dark blue eyes, heavy muscled from wearing heavy platemail armor and using a heavy double bladed axe, a huge sword which he wields with a shield
Background: Born into royalty Gabriel was raised to follow in his father's footsteps as a champion to the king, one of the elite knights that is in attendance to the king as his personal body guards. Many of the other royal houses was jealous of the Wyrmdal clan's success and their closeness to the king. Gabriel got set up in an elaborate scheme to kill the king, but he stopped the attack, yet ended up looking guilty. He left disgraced and traveled the kingdoms, fighting many battles, showing his abilities as a pure bred fighter in countless skirmishes, handling his weapons like they were part of him and as light as feathers. Unknown to Gabriel his name has been cleared by hard work of his family and friends of the family, now the king's men awaits him on the borders to welcome him back as a hero and true champion to the king.

~~~
Gabriel was sitting on his horse surveying the lay of the land ahead, the forest could hide many enemies, but as far as he knew, he left his enemies far behind. He nudged his horse forward and they moved forward, following the well used trail. He saw smoke up ahead and a castle, that meant that there would be a settlement and a settlement meant an Inn and that is what Gabriel wanted. A tankard of ale, food and maybe even a place to rest his head for a while before resuming his travels, silently he cursed the Gripphendals, he could swore it was them that forced him onto this road, but he did not have time to prove it. He shook the dark thoughts and looked up to see a group of troops appearing out of the bushes, they didn't notice him, but Gabriel could see that these were not troops used to keep the peace, from the gear they wore it seemed more like they were skirmish troops and they were definitely scouring the woods, looking for somebody. Suddenly one of the troops noticed him and pointed him out, Gabriel lifted an eyebrow in amusement when they formed a ragged attack formation, clearly they didn't have a commanding officer with them.
"Halt! State your business here"
"I'm just traveling through neighbor, no need to get excited"
"I think he's with them"
Gabriel became even more amused, he was clearly not from these parts and neither were these men. He removed his shield and hefted it so that the crest faced the soldiers.
"I am not from here neighbor, look at the crest and if you really want to pursue the idea you are harboring of attacking me, then you will fall at the hands of Wyrmdal"
One of the soldiers quickly backed away, the others turned to look at him
"What is going on with you?"
"H-h-have you never heard of Wyrmdal? The Chesmonian king's champions. You can go seek your death if you want to, I'm not insane"
With that the soldier turned and fled down the road, Gabriel turned his attention to the other soldiers, he could see that they wanted to leave without losing face
"I'll rather not head out towards your newest conquest, but beware the one that attacks my back, he will die swiftly"
Gabriel turned his horse and trotted off, he wondered what they would report back to their commanding officer. Gabriel saw a faded trail of to the left side of the road and decided to take it, it wasn't like he had somewhere else to go nor was he in much of a hurry anyway. He followed the trail and noticed that it intersected with gametrails and actually meandered through the forest. Gabriel noticed a cave entrance half hidden by underbrush and realized that the trail branched of to there. Maybe it was a hiding place that haven't been used for some time? Gabriel thought about it for a while and then dismounted and tethered his horse, he walked towards the cave entrance and peered inside, was his imagination or did he hear voices inside, he decided to make certain and called out
"Hello? Is anybody in there?"
The claw soldjers inside the cave who were still alive were trying to get threw the door turned at the sound of Wyvern's voice and called out.. stay where you are stranger unless you wish to join those we've come for in death.. he ordered 15 of his men to continue trying to break down the door while he and 7 others moved to speak further with this new comer.
who are you and what do you do here ? he asked his hand on the hilt of his sword ready to draw it if need be.. his men already had theres out in antisapation of the door being opened and the battle to come.. i suggest sir that you turn around and leave as what goes here is none of your concern we track outlaws and will put them to the sword this day..
One of his men screamed and the man turned with a curse from Wyvern and started heading twords the door as his men started threw only to be thrown back by and explosion.. killing half of his men...
..............................
Leo had urged Idrial to leave with the others but she trusted Rinehold to get them out she however had no intentions of leaving.. she moved back as far as she could and took position oposite Leo and waited while Serapis set his trap.. the small explosion shook the cave causing not only fire and smoke damage but also rocks to fall from above..
Idrial dodged two such rocks as Serapis started fighting the men coming in the door after the explosion.. her eyes stinging from the smoke she still took aim and when she had a clear shot fired the cross bow she carried.. but with the smoke her shots were few as it was near impossable to see in the small space..
she layed down the cross bow and drew the short sword Rinehold had given her and waited..
Leo
Leo watched as Serapis set his trap. An interesting tactic. He would have to see what he can pick up about it from the man. The ensuing explosion shook the cave and dislodged rocks from the ceiling. Leo stepped out from under one and snapped off a shot, taking a soldier clear off his feet. He moved up to the now demolished door and caught a glimpse of Serapis entering the smoke. Leo released another shot. Of course, Leo couldn't see what he was shooting, but he could see movement, and he knew where Serapis was, so he shot whatever wasn't him. He spotted a movement off to the left. A quick turn and another shot dropped the soldier to the ground.
Another explosion and the smoke cleared. Serapis was dragging a soldier towards them. He glanced over at the cave entrance and noticed a knight poking his head in. Leo tapped Idrial on the shoulder and nodded at the knight, knocking an arrow and turning it to face him. He didn't pull the string back, but pointed it at the ground in the man's general direction.
Idrial watched sevral of the men fall back as Serapis grabbed one of the higher ranking officers that came threw the flames using him as a sheild to try and gain exit.. but as there were others coming in from behind.
she counted out of the 15 innitally that came threw 8 were dead leaving 7 alive still in the cave with them and the remaining 8 counting the captin who went to speak with the stranger outside the cave were now coming in at Serapis's back.. she held her sword at ready waiting for the men to reolize they had Serapis surrounded and could over power him.
the smoke was thinning but not by much.. alot of the air in the cave had been sucked out by the flames.. making it hard for everyone to breath.. she saw Leo draw his bow.. firing over and over
the man serapis held gave some sort of signal with his hand and 3 of the men turned to attack Leo.. 2 facing him 1 after idrial... leaving 4 plus the other 8 coming in to face Serapis who would be over powered if he continued to hold his captive...
before she knew it however the battle was over and Leo was tapping her on the sholder and pointing another arrow in the direction of the cave entrance.. a man clearly not dressed in the claw uniform was poking his head around the corner checking to see if it were safe..
Gabriel Wyrmdal
Gabriel was shocked by the explosions and he pulled his head back, not the type of reply he was expecting. First a threat and then explosions and a lot of smoke, he looked around the corner just to see a figure notching his bow, it seems like he stumbled upon survivors from the town. He stepped into view allowing them to see that he was armed, but that he wasn't holding any weapons save the shield. He could see that the officer that threatened him was being held captive, Gabriel made certain that the face of the shield was full on display
"Greeting neighbors, it seems like you had a scuffle here"
He slowly approached, making sure not to make any threatening or fast moves, he grinned at the officer
"Well neighbor, it seems like you are going to get put to the blade before the end of this day"
He looked over the strange group in front of him, then saluted them by moving his shield to his side and touching his fist to his chest
"I greet you, I am Wyvern of Chesmonia"
He looked expectantly at the people for introductions
Idrial stepped forward I am Idrial of Kilgram our homes were over taken by these vermin let us get out of this smoke filled cave and into come clean air.. after you of corse.. she said smiling slowly once they exited the cave they could question the prisoner and discover how many men still held Kilgram, and how a knight of Chesmonia came to be here..
Gabriel Wyrmdal
Gabriel did not want to present his back to armed people he just met, but then again he didn't have much of a choice, placing his trust in fate he turned and led the group out of the cave. He was surprised to find the air outside so clear and refreshing, he took a deep breathe and stepped aside to allow more of the people to come out. He scanned the forest, it didn't look like there was any more soldiers around and he was sure that more didn't follow him.
"I know that you have many questions, but if I could find this cave out of curiosity a good tracker would find this spot even faster, you will need to find a more secure area"
Serapis snorted, looked at the newcomer, then at the captain. "How about some talkin???" He said to the captain, then realized everyone was having trouble breathing. hHe remembered the feeling. Years of accidentally blowing up his small room had taught him all too well, but he had trained lungs, and actually breathed easier than normal. He left the cave, hoping the captain wasn't dead from suffocation or smoke inhalation or something. He gestured towards Leo, asking if he wanted to take the first punch. I love interragations.
Leo
Leo followed Idrial out of the cave while Serapis drug the captain out. A quick scan of the treeline revealed no additional soldiers. Leo looked over at Idrial and ran his eyes along her body. He needed to get control of that. He was looking at her with a little more than just protection in mind...
Leo shook his head to clear his thoughts and glanced over at Serapis. He silently declined with a wave of his hand. He did not torture people for fun. He blinked, clearing the smoke from his eyes. It did bother him, but he breathed easily, used to deeper breathing from the many longshots he has made. He looked over at the knight. The Crest on his shield was easily recognizable. Wyrmdal. Interesting that he was here. Probably wandering. The man's reputation proceeded him. Leo was actually glad that his own didn't precede him. In fact, no one even knew him. An odd thing it is, being a ghost of your world.
Callused palms gripped the wool twined hand grasp of the English long bow with insured knowledge that it was either going to be successful kill this time or another abysmal shot which would result in an another long chase. Either way the task had to be done for the growling stomach dictated the rules. Galron once more, like the previous three times, drew back and took aim upon the long legged aging beast from hell. His breathing slowed, his emerald orbs locked onto the heavily aged buck. Its antlers gave its age away for they were of impressive size, should bring good coin in the markets. Galron studied where the other arrows hit, now just stubs from the buck raging through the forest, and slightly moved up and to the right, that should be where the beast’s heart is, at least he hoped this time for he did not wish to hike another five leagues after this hell beast!!
The arrow flew and hit its mark but to the dismal of Galron, the beast only snorted and dashed off once more into the heavy foliage. “I’d be roasted and fed to the pigs!” Galron’s angered voice rose way above a whispered curse. His green orbs shot a hatred glare up at the orange and pink riddled sky. “What the hell have I done to deserve this!” he cursed at the gods not thinking clearly, for the growling of his stomach was now going to be three days.
Moving up to the area where the hell beast stood once again, no make that for the fourth time, he found the tracks and once again began the long foot chase after his most wanted thing in the world. “You will not get the best of me you beast from the underworld!” he spat again like the past few times. Pushing the long dark strands of hair from his face and relocating them to the area behind his ear, he studied the tracks and realized that he must have done better with this shot for the beasts stride was not as long as before. This fact gave some relief to the tired feet that began to move in the same direction.
The scene that met his emerald glare was one of shock as he toppled the hill and began to descend for there were bodies everywhere, motionless and bloodied. He heard voices coming from the left of him, knowing dam good well they saw him before he seen them. He stood looking at the bodies but also looking at them with his peripheral vision. He waited for them to greet him or order him to lower his weapon, either way; this wasn’t a situation he wanted to be in… Once again, he muttered to himself… “WHAT THE HELL HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS!”
The med surrounded the huntsmen " drop your wepon, and come with us. you have poor luck huntsmen" The one who spoke motioned for others to move forward in order to get the man to move. " well take you to the one in charge his hand should be bandaged up by now."
One of the others snorted and laughed but was quickly silenced by another. who wispered " idiot unless you want killed dont. Who ever shot thos arrows is a dead person when we catch up."
The one who had wispered shuddered, as another asked. " if it really was that girl who was reported to have shot him, i dont think its gonna be quick"
" shut your rambling mouths you talk too much if ive to say it again ill run you through myself take him to the leader"
(sorry its not my best work but thank you for joining i appreceate it. :D hoping to get it going again )
Galron’s head lowered, his fingers releasing the bow reluctantly, but what choice did he have? None. A part of him wanted to raise the bow up and fight off these pigs, but that would only end in one way and that way wasn’t with him walking away. He knew his abilities and limits long ago and if he turned to fight these men it would be putting his talents to the test. A test he did not wish to conduct at this time, there was no need to do so at the moment.
He only looked over at the two having their not so private exchange of words and turned toward the direction they motioned for him to go. His mind playing back the words the two idiots spoke just moments ago. He liked the knowledge that their leader was hurt but was impressed when he heard that a woman was the one that injured him. He has heard about the female rogue that ventured out in the wilderness but only took it as a present time folklore, but now it sounded as if it was a truth.
Upon his travel to this meeting place. He did take note of the path and location of what he passed by and what he heard in the forest. This way he would know how to get back to this area if an opportunity for him to escape comes to play.
He remained silent, hoping to stay on the good side of these misguided fools, till the time he meets with this leader. He made several short stories up in his head just to be prepared when he did finally come face to face with the man.
