Horses are amazing animals. To be so large, yet so sensitive..to feel a tiny fly so strongly on their flesh. Friends have horses and the love the horses give to my friends is also amazing. The husband's horse, she will protect him like you wouldn't believe. On trail rides, if he's been drinking, it's like she is watching after him to make sure she gets him back safe.

Then could also be our romanticization of them w/ our fairy tales "and the knight in shiny armor rides in to rescue the damsel in distress, before riding off into the sunset".
