It's botanical name is Aechmea fasciata, it's a flowering plant in the bromeliad family, native to Brazil. It's also a very popular plant in Hong Kong; I remember we had several tall ones in our backyard when I was a kid. And I had several bromeliads as House plants years ago. Mine were not this color though. I think they were red.![]()
Another photo of Norway but don't know the exact location. I believe there are quite a few varieties in the Bromeliad family. Were the flowers on your plants like this one?
