Veronica Black had been raised in Los Angeles, though she had never really been outside the city. Her life was great, she was into music. She had gotten the job of writing music for bands, her talent was seen since she was a little girl. She could play the piano, violin, all level of guitars, drums. Anything really, she was a music savant some would say. She picked up music quickly, and her mother was always very proud of her. But things change, her parents died when she was sixteen years old. On her sixteenth birthday, her parents took her to an opera.

Phantom Of The Opera was her favorite story, they went to take her. But on the way home, they were hit hard by a drunk driver. Because the driver hit them head on at speeds of 90 miles an hour, her parents were both killed instantly. And Veronica was in the back seat, she got hurt. She broke both of her legs and even a few ribs, the car was on fire. But thankfully someone managed to pull her out, and the rest of it she blocked out. And who would have thought her life would get worse after it? but not right away of course.

At the age of seventeen she graduated high school a year early, then right after high school she was at a club. Playing and someone wanted to hire her right on the spot, and hearing her perform. She was wanted by many people to write for them, and she was going to get her own band together to. But of course, something was in the works. Within six months later, something bad happened. She was at the club when everyone was screaming outside, pretty soon people in masks came out. Taking people out, Veronica hid having no idea what was going on.

With everything going on, the fear got to her and she passed out behind the bar. And when she woke up, no one was there. When she got out of the club it was day time, and the street was bare. She could hear no cries, no foot steps nothing. She went home to get into better clothing, into a pair of jeans, sneakers and a t-shirt. She even put some food and clothing in a bag, and grabbed her car. Getting out, she decided to get something for a weapon. She knew of a place, and grabbed all kinds of guns, ammo. Even made a baseball bat with nails sticking out.

Now she was looking for survivors having no damn idea what the hell was going on, but in the distance she thought she saw someone walking. Course it could have been anyone, but she started to go very slow and rolled down her window. "Hey!" she called.

Richard Miller was originally from Texas but he moved to LA at the age of 18 to try and make it into the show business. He knew it would be hard work but he didn't let that scare him from trying anyways. Like most aspiring actors he worked at restaurants, clubs, even did some shady work he was not to proud to admit. But every actor had to start somewhere and if adult features could get his name out there he would try anything once.

Now 20 years old a little more experienced in how the business works in Hollywood he is finally beginning to make a name for himself. He's had a few minor roles in movies an extra here and there. He even has a small time agent that's helping him become something big hopefully. One audition after another and one rejection after another he finally received a call from a producer for a horror movie. It has a few big actors, they will be the heroes of course, and they want him as a sidekick it will be another minor role but this time he has more than just a few lines. This is his big break finally he's going to make it big.

His first role in a major production was a sidekick to a hero in a monster flick. Ironically the sidekick was one of the monsters first victim. Sure it was a small part but he was hoping this movie would do a better job or promoting him than his most recent movie "Banging Daddy's Little Girl #9." He knew that might come back and haunt him one day but right now it was time for the premiere of his first movie. They went all out with the red carpet famous celebrity guests paparazzi. Everything was here, he was here finally. With a big smile he walked into the theater took his seat and patiently waited for the movie to begin.

The lights dimmed, the room went silent and the beginning credits came one. His name came on and he couldn't keep a small squeal from coming out his mouth. Just before the intro was done there came a loud bang from behind the room the with the lights still dimmed everyone used there cellphones to see what all the commotion was. The movie continued playing as the bangs became louder and more frequent.*

Finally one audience member stood up to investigate what was going on. Just as he opened the door a loud yell came from a woman near the door. A man on the other side of the door had burst his way in and attacked the movie goer biting him ripping his flesh off killing the poor man with nothing but his mouth. At that gruesome sight everyone in the theater panicked and rushed for the exit only to be ambushed by more of those... Murderers was the best he could come up with at that moment. Richard fought his way out of the theater saving as many people as he could. Once the survivors managed to escape everyone ran in separate directions seeking safety somewhere far from here.

He had no idea what was going on but if those... things came after him he wanted to be ready. The streets were all empty, painted red with what looked like blood. He quickly made his way to the nearest gun shop. As armed himself with guns rifles explosives he began to think. 'That's a lot of blood where are all the victims?' he grabbed a few knives a sword and plenty of ammo. He walked the empty streets of LA looking for any clue as to what was going on. Finally after walking a few blocks he saw another survivor. She was in a nice sporty car waving down another person nearby. Richard quickly pulled out some binoculars and looked through them to see what she was looking at. "Shit" he murmured as the creature turned to make his way toward her he pulled out a gun and shot at him a few times, a couple actually hitting him in the head. He ran towards the girl in the car and leaned in through her window. "Are you ok? I am so so sorry for doing that but I... I... I had to or it would have killed you." he stared at her for a while waiting for a reaction.

Everything had hit her so fast, first she thought she saw someone. But then come to find out, it was very much dead. Zombies? was this a really bad dream? a dream where she is co-staring in a film about stupid zombies? But then she heard gun fire and ended up ducking down. Her heart was pounding "What the hell!" She screamed, but then when she heard something coming. She didn't know if she should high tail it out, but then that was a good way how to end up dead.

So shaking her head, then she noticed someone coming at her. And seeing him, she could tell he wasn't one of "them" he seemed friendly enough. She sighed some and shook her head. "I am fine thanks to you, guess I need to be more careful" But then before she could say anything else, she heard the moans of the dead. And knew this wasn't good, so she looked at him. "Stranger id highly suggest you get into this car" she started up her engine again. Thankfully her car was brand spanking new.

And wouldn't break down on her. Which was such a good thing in this day, when he got in she put her top back on and rolled up her windows. Putting the Air Conditioner on, and sighed a bit. Making sure her seat belt was on, sitting back she didn't know what to really say to him. Looking at him for just a moment, making sure not to get into a car accident with either a zombie or an animal. "I'm Veronica, but people just call me V. Well guess I could say people use to call me V" She chuckled some.

"Thanks for the help by the way, your a good shot glad your on my side" She said with a very kind smile on her face. Just hoping that they could keep each other safe, and alive. She didn't want anyone dying on her, since to many people had died on her in the past few years.

Relieved that she was ok he looked at her voice all over for any signs of dead walker blood. He wasn't sure how this... Whatever this was worked if it was contagious or what but it was better to be safe than sorry. She was ok thankfully she was better than ok actually. He couldn't help admiring her beauty, she didn't look like the type of person that would have survived a catastrophe like this but thank god she did. He chuckled "These days keeping both eyes open is more important than ever." he said still admiring her.

To avoid looking anymore foolish than he already made himself look staring at her he shook his head and looked around at the growing horde of undead. "I think you're right it's about time we left." He quickly jumped over the hood of the car and into the passenger seat slamming the door. He threw his weapons in the back and fastened his seat belt. Normally he would complain about women drivers but this was one time when driving like a maniac was a good thing. He looked at her and smiled it was a good thing she could not read minds she probably would have kicked him out for that little remark.

"My name's Richard but you can call Rich, Richy, Rick whatever you like." he smiled and turned to look at her every time he felt she wouldn't be looking at him looking at her. He giggled and looked straight ahead at the road "It's no problem at all I've always been a big believer in the whole saving the damsel in distress." he looked at her and smiled "Especially when they're as pretty as you V." he chuckled and look straight ahead again.

He watched as they passed familiar streets, neighborhoods, even a familiar face every now and then with a completely different personality though. He quietly sat in his seat reloading his guns making sure they were close and ready to use if the need should arise. Than he turned to look at her "So any idea as to where we're going to go?" he sighed looking at her curiously.*

She smiled listing to him, and watching him reload his weapons. She took off pretty fast and sighed a bit, but then he asked her a question she didn't know how to answer. "I don't know honestly, if this virus has come here. I'm sure it has spread, but right now we need to be very smart. Look for survivors we cannot be the only two who survived this, and we need to get some supplies, food and water. I have enough for two people for about a day or two but that wont do. So we need team work here"

Veronica grinned "Though something tells me you wont give me a problem Rich, just teasing any way. But we should go to a store that isn't surrounded, in case we do find some people. And may need to get some medical supplies to, just in case someone is hurt. And I mean other then being bitten, since I know the virus spreads from bites as well." She headed for a store that had both food and medical supplies, and hoped that no zombie would be there. She knew her way around every inch of this city, and wouldn't let anything happen to him.

Pulling over she grabbed a shot gun and sighed some, looking at him she smiled at him. "You ready?" slowly getting out of the car, she grabbed the keys. Just in case someone was alive and decided to steal the car, she had her gun in her hands and listened to everything around her. She opened up the door and motioned for him to enter, keeping her eyes and ears open to ever little sound.

"Ready" he said. He looked at her as she grabbed her shotgun and walked out of the car taking command of the situation. He cocked his two pistols and placed his sword carefully in its holster and walked out behind her "You're a pretty brave girl" he smiled holding out his two pistols and listening for the slightest sound of trouble "Most girls I know... or knew would have never walked out into a world like this first head on like you did."

"And I don't think you'll get any trouble from me I'm a well behaved little boy" he chuckled and winked at her. He smiled and walked closely behind her looking all around for any signs of the living dead. He grabbed a couple of big purses and backpacks he found laying on streets "I think these will really come in handy don't you think." he giggled as he playfully modeled one of the purses "Doesn't really go with my outfit but it'll do I think." he looked at her quietly laughing "what do you think?"

He handed some of the bags and backpacks to her as soon as they got to the store and they began filling them with everything necessary for the days ahead. The store was fully stocked with everything they would need. He ran to the canned foods aisle and stuffed as much as he could into two bags. Than he ran to a tower of cases of water bottles and put as many bottles as he could in the back packs. On his way back to the entrance to wait for V he saw a rack with all kinds of candys, gum, snacks and mints. He looked at the mints then he looked at V direction. He looked back at the mints and grabbed some and quickly hid the cases in his pockets. 'This isn't really a necessity but hey you never know' he said to himself smiling looking at her.

Once at the entrance he hid behind a wall keeping an eye at the door for any signs of the zombies. With both backpacks around his shoulders and the bags hanging from the backpacks he was ready to leave if something happened. He quietly whispered at Veronica "Hey I just thought of something V" he looked at her than back at the door "If we're going to rescue other survivors won't we need a bigger vehicle?" her car was nice but it didn't seem like a rescue vehicle "don't get me wrong I like your car but how many people will we be able to fit in..." he cut his sentence short and looked back out the door. He wasn't sure but he thought he had heard something that sounded like feet dragging on the street "Shit you might want to hurry up V I don't think we have much time left here" he put a gun away and pulled out his sword a gun is good but we might want to keep quiet to avoid anymore attention he thought walking to the door.

Veronica smiled at his comment, looking at him she couldn't help bug grin. "Yeah I know I'm unique, I raised cars in my free time. My dad hunted, and even though I was never into shooting animals. I went hunting with him once, so I'm not afraid of getting dirty" She admitted to him. And taking a deep breath, she also laughed at what he said about not matching what he wore. She began to get some things, products that she would need since she was a "Woman" but wouldn't go into it with him.

Since she was sure he didn't need to know, she grabbed some projects. Grabbed some things like antibiotic creams, for wounds. Grabbed some soap and body wash, since she hated to not shower. And grabbed a few other things, but then she heard the foot dragging the ground as well. Grabbing a case of snickers candy bar's on the way out, she remembered what he said about her car. "I know that is why we are heading back to my place, I have a bigger car there."

And she burst out pretty quickly, seeing the sword Rich now carried. Which was nice, and she hopped in, started the car. "Come on Rich let's go!" She called out and the minute he got out and into the car. She took off, sighing softly she looked at the mirror. "Holy Shit!" She saw a zombie with an Axe, she backed up quickly and pushed the gas. But after about a block she saw a dead end. A new dead end, with zombies so she slammed on her breaks, which caused her car to spin in a perfect ND took off again.

Grinning as she did, you could easily tell that she use to raise cars. She was damn good at what she did, and took off for another way and sighed a bit. She knew they had to get the hell out of the city, but decided to do something. She turned on a radio and began to talk. "My name is Veronica Wolf, I am heading to 44 main street. If anyone is on this line, I will be leaving the city in twenty minutes. If anyone is alive, come find me. But you have twenty minutes"

Thinking for a moment "It's a long shot I know, but still if anyone heard. I want to give them a chance" She said and headed for her place, after about fifteen minutes she got to her place and pulled into the garage. She had a nice looking van, it didn't look like much. "This van was specially made, it can hold up to fifteen people. Just have to move the seats around, it has bullet proof glass. It can go from 1 to 100 miles within fifteen seconds, has special tires that wont blow unless you go over a spike strip."

She chuckled. "Strange I know, but hey I'm a mysterious person. Though I honestly had no reason for a van like this, but glad I got it"

He grabbed the bags and ran to the car. He threw the bags in the back of the car and shot at the zombies before getting in the car just in time. Just as he closed the door she took off slamming him against the back of the seat. He hung onto the seat and door as she maneuvered her way through the streets avoiding all the monsters in the way. "God damn you drive like fucking maniac." he relaxed as they drove at a more calm and steady speed "But you drive like one damn good manic." he looked at her laughing nervously.

He watched her leave a message over the emergency radio station "Do you really think someone will be hearing this?" He put his seatbelt on and turned to look at her "So where do you plan on going from here? Or from your place anyways." he grabbed a map he took from the store and looked around for any place that might have been still untouched by this virus.

He looked up away from the map as they arrived at a house "Wow this is your place?" he looked at it amazed "nice, very nice" he looked at her amused "Were you somekind of rich spoiled brat?" he immediately opened the door and stepped out of the car into her garage and looked around. He saw the van and walked around it once "Why exactly do you have this van?" he opened the door and looked inside "I've never known a girl that actually owns a van like this before"

He smiled at her explanation "So this van was just a spur of the moment buy?" he grabbed all the supplies and threw them in the van. "I'm ready to go how about you?" he turned to look at her smiling. "This is fun it feels like I'm going on a road trip with a stranger." he laughed and threw his weapons in the front passenger seat "Oh and that reminds me I think we should stop at a gun shop somewhere between here and wherever it is we are going, you can never have to much ammo."

She didn't realize how fast she drove till he did and said what he did. Veronica looked at him and sighed "I'm sorry Rich" She could tell he was very nervous now. Sighing some, she heard what he said about the radio. Veronica shook her head "No I don't expect anything, but I just wanted to do it just in case" When they got to her apartment, and made the comment about the spoiled brat. She smiled at him "I was very spoiled yes, but was never a brat.

I got my parents to build a homeless shelter in the city, and got them to fund our kill shelter for animals. And he gave them enough money, so it turned into a no kill shelter" She said simply and when he talked about going to gun stores, she motioned for him to follow her to the trunk. She opened up a chest in the back, inside it were all sorts of guns, grenades, ammo. "Ive already been to all the gun stores in the city. I got all kinds of guns as well to go with the ammo, and I just threw everything in here. Since I am kinda of a gun freak, I know all about guns"

Then she thought for a moment "But there is one survivor besides us, I hope you don't mind I'm bringing Tobey with us" She whistled and a large bark came out, and since there was a doggy door, a beautiful gray and white husky came out. "Rich this is Tobey. I can't leave him behind" She knelt down as the dog licked her. "He wont cause any trouble and he knows when to be quite" Tobey came up to Rich and tilted his head and lifted up his paw. "He wants to shake your hand" She smiled. Tobey would really be a good asset, she quickly got some dog food. Enough for several months, and she sighed a bit.

He sighed in relief as they got to their destination and he looked at her "maybe next time I should drive" he laughed nervously "I dot want to risk becoming one of those things" he chuckled nervously and followed her to the drunk. "Damn that's a lot of guns." he looked a the grenades and grabbed them "Everything there is to know huh?" he carefully put them on the table and started building a makeshift case for them "You never put these just anywhere where they can bounce around and have the pins pulled out." he chuckled and put them away again "I realize now just how lucky we were to have made it here alive."

He saw the dog run out of her house and begin to lick her trainers face 'damn that's one lucky dog' he said to himself smiling watching her play with him. "I don't know is he reall well trained?" are you 100% sure it won't start barking and attract unwanted attention to us?" he took the dogs paw and shook it gently looking at it he always liked huskies but he never earned enough money to be able to keep one as an aspiring actor. "And that's another thing." he said as he saw her put some dog food into the vehicle "We'll be using up storage for dog food that we could use for human food and stuff like that." he pet the dog and sat on the hood of her car.

He saw how much she cared for the dog and couldn't say no to her "As long as he doesn't get us killed I suppose he can come along." he joked helping her put the rest of the food into the van. So is that all? As she was organizing everything in the van he took the opportunity to take a peek into her house. I wasn't like him to look into peoples personal space but He figured a quick peek to sort of investigate the person he would be traveling with wouldn't hurt right? He looked around for anything he might consider interesting before she realized he wasn't in the garage anymore.

She smiled at him and nodded "Yes my dog was trained by one of the best, my dog only barks if its an emergency. In this case, if he sees a zombie coming at us and we don't he will bark. He has always seem to know when to be quite, my dog bought him for me as a puppy. He was the biggest, he was actually hogging up his mothers milk, so we got him a few weeks early. " She sighed when he commented about the dog food. "Relax, see this?" She pointed to what just looked like decoration, it opened up and she put in the dog food. So there was plenty of room for people food.

"Don't worry, if I thought having my dog would be a big problem. I honestly would keep him behind, I may love my dog. But I'm not selfish either, id never risk your life or anyone Else's life. Like I know the way I got here was crazy, but I was trained on how to use my car at very high speeds. I didn't know what I wanted to do so I learned to be a stunt driver. But then decided on a music career." But when she looked up she noticed he was no longer there, she smiled and got her dog in the car. And went inside, and noticed him looking around.

"Find anything interesting?" She giggled happily. "Don't worry about it, I don't mind you looking around. Ive always been a very open person, if you like on the way out of this city. I can tell you all about me if you like, and perhaps you can do the same? at least things you feel comfortable sharing with me. I'm not a nosy person, least I try not to be"

He looked at the secret compartment where she put away the dog food and sighed on relief "ok that's good more room for human things." he laughed looking around her living room hoping she didn't notice the differences in sound, his voice now coming from inside her house instead of next to her. He looked at some pictures she had on shelfs and tables in the living room. He picked up a picture he found of her with her parents her mom just as pretty as she was and accidentally said out loud "Well now I see where she gets her good looks from." he giggled and looked at her shocked and nervous scared she might have heard that.

"Oh umm sorry curiosity just got the best of me." he laughed and put the picture back down where it was. He walked back to her and leaned against one of the couches "Oh yeah that sounds like a good idea." he picked up another picture and looked at it "Poking your nose in other peoples property is a good way to find out about that person but I suppose I could just ask you." he put the picture bam down and looked at her blushing "It's less embarrassing than getting caught." he laughed again. "Speaking of are we ready to go?" he walked towards the door waited for her there waiting for her answer.

She smiled at him, seeing that he got caught he seemed embarrassed. "It's alright really, that picture you picked up. That was my mother" She said happily. But then she noticed he picked up her other picture. She smiled and walked up to him, sighing a bit she ran her fingers over the picture. "That's my dad and my uncle, my uncle died three days after that picture was taken. It was a freak accident, it was at his home. He was working under his sink, he hit his head very hard. And he died."

Thinking for a moment she didn't know what more to really say "It was said that his bones were very thin, come to find out he had a very mild version of brittle bone disease. I was five when he died" But she smiled when he asked if she was readynoddingng. She went in the back to get one more thing, it was two teddy bears. But she wasn't ashamed to bring them. "This blue one my uncle bought me, and this one here. Is worth a few thousand dollars, my parents bought it for me."

Heading into the car, she put the small bears in another compartment and looked at her dog. But forgot one thing, so she quickly got out and grabbed the two cases of spring water she had. And put it in the trunk, making sure that everything was situated. Making sure she forgot nothing important, she got in and left the building. "I will admit, this van. It was my dad's idea, he was a police captain. I wrote music for popular bands, and I got some stalkers in my time. Long story short, he insisted on getting this van specially done"

He listened to her tell the story of her uncles death "I'm so sorry were you two really close?" he knew what it was like to lose a member in his family. Since he moved to Cali he had lost touch with his family but he still managed to find out when his favorite uncle had passed away.

He walked to the van and sat in the front seat and watched he put some water and teddy bears in the van. He grabbed one and looked at it carefully "I think a girl that still sleeps with a teddy bear is just absolutely cute." he looked a her and smiled putting the bear back in its place. "Speaking of sleep you won't need any pajamas?" he said regretting it right away and hoping she didn't want any he knew how girls were with clothes and if she was anything like a normal girl she would take forever looking for the right thing.

She smiled looking at him kindly and laughed "Thanks, I know it's silly. Grabbing two teddy bears, when the end of the world is on our door step. But they are really the two things I treasure more then my dog and my own life. And your life now" She said happily, but then he asked about Pj's and shook her head. "I already took care of that, I brought some of my clothing. " She thought for a moment, and stopped. Since no one living or dead was there.

Looking at him she smiled more "Do you need to stop at your place for anything? anything you need or can't live without? I am sure we have the time." She just wanted to make sure that there was nothing he would regret leaving behind, she was the same way with her bears. Which was why she brought them, and of course her dog Tobey. She was honest with Rich though, if her dog would be a problem. She would have let her dog loose and pray to god he would be ok.

He looeked at her thinking long and hard for anything he might want to take with him on this long trip they would probably never come back home afterwards. "Yes actually there is." he looked away from her she sort of ashamed of what he was about to say. "I hav a lucky shirt I wear every time I fell I'll need some extra luck it helped me get a role in a big movie and I've considered it a lucky shirt ever since." he looked at her again with a sheepish grin.

He sat behind the steering wheel and held it tightly "Do you mind if I drive though?" he looked at her nervously "I mean no offense against your driving or anything but they you were driving right now I'm scared you'll pass all the turns and we'll end up going the long way." he laughed and turned on the van. "I promise I'll be gentle with her." he closed his door and put it in reverse carefully pulling out of her garage and her driveway and into the streets. As they left her street he looked at Veronica "Hey V seeing as how nobody showed up to your place would you like to maybe try it again this time my place?" he said handing her the radio.

He drove fast paying close attention to all the street names making sure to turn at the right ones. Finally on his street he slowed down looking around for any signs of the infected. He pulled into his garage closing the door behind him and turning on the lights. He opened Veronica's door "Welcome to house de Rich." he smiled than looked around "Umm my house not a rich persons house." he giggled embarrassed "Not all of us are as rich as you after all." he walked into his house smiling and held the door open for her make yourself at home while I get my clothing." he showed where the bathroom and kitchen where and walked away and into his room.

She smiled and nodded switching seats with him, she wasn't to worried about how he was driving. But as he suggested, she nodded and told people where they were going. And watching him drive fast, she just relaxed back in the seat. After about ten minutes, they got back to his place. She smiled even more when he helped her out of the car, when he commented about his place. She chuckled some, seeing his place it was nice. Nice and Simple.

"If you think having money is fun and easy it's not, I had no friends growing up. I would do some kind of charity work, and people would call me a goodie goodie. A spoiled princess. I don't know why either, I never ever flashed money to people. I hardly brought money for school lunch, it got so bad I just stopped eating at school. I spent my time just studying, I grew very lonely. Even tried to take my own life once, the bullying got so bad."

She didn't say this for pity, but when he told her to keep herself at home she nodded. There was a reason why she always wore her black choker around her throat, it's where her suicide attempt could be seen. She tried to hang herself, but the rope broke. She sat down on the couch and sighed, waiting very patiently for him.

He listened to her story in his room packing anything he thought he would need. She didn't have any friends in school because she was a rich girl and everyone made fun of her for that and here he was doing the same. He quickly packed everything in a small suitcase and slid it in the ground down to the living room.

He walked to the living room with his lucky shirt in hand and sat next to her wrapping an arm around her shoulder pulling her close to him "I'm sorry it must have been really hard growing up and here I am making things worse." he looked down at his feet ashamed than grabbed the choker around her neck " I have to be honest I thought this was some kind of kinky fetish thing I thought the virus caught you while you were... Ahem" he cleared his throat and looked away from her face "Never mind forget I said anything." he giggled and hugged her tightly "I promise I'll be nicer from now on"

He grabbed her choker "What of we take this off now I'm going to need you alive so we don't want to risk anything." he looked at her face smiling and continued "Unless you really do like it rough." he giggled and gently pulled on the necklace playing with her. He let it go and rubbed her shoulder "Don't worry I'm just kidding." he giggled "I really do need you... Alive I mean. I need you alive." he cough nervously hoping she didn't misinterpret that.

Listing to what he said, looking up at him she enjoyed having someone put her arm around her. Making her feel loved and liked, but then she noticed how he handled serious things, joking around. She was starting to understand his personality, and from what she saw? she liked him. "it's alright to joke around, I can take jokes. I learned the hard way that if something bad happens, you need to find joy in your life. My joy was my uncle, my parents and my dog. I was very close to my uncle when he died, he was like a big brother he kid around all the time"

But then she felt him touch her chocker and heard what all he had said to her, needing her alive? she didn't think anyone cared. But he seemed to, then made the sex joke. Or at least what she considered a sex joke. She had never taken her chocker off, looking down for a moment. She took a deep breath and removed the chocker, the scar was very visible. "I tried hanging myself, I hung for about a minute. Then the rope broke, and left me with this scar."

She wanted to cry but forced herself not to "Ive been so ashamed of it, this is the first time Ive let anyone see my neck in ten years. I did it when I was nine." She looked up at him, expecting him to be creped out, repulsed, something. But so far nothing came.

He giggled "I can tell you really cared about your uncle huh?" he rubbed her shoulder "if it helps you feel any better I will try to joke and play around more often." he moved to sit facing her "But I don't want you to ever think about suicide again." he put a hand on her chin and turned her head to face him and looked into her eyes "And if i find out you have been thinking about it I'll feed you to the zombies myself." he said jokingly.

He looked and at the scar and moved his hand to her neck and gently rubbed the scar there. "You shouldnt be ashamed of this scar in a way it kind of proves that you're a fighter and you wont let anything or anyone bring you down anymore." he didn't think that made much sense but hopefully it would help her feel better now.

He took her hand and looked at her again "Now with the end of the world here money doesn't really matter so we're all poor." he smiled "And if anyone you know dares make fun of you again just remember you're a million times prettier than they are." he giggled and gently pinched her cheek "I know it has nothing to do with anything but still jealousy is an ugly thing." he leaned over and kissed the cheek he just pinched then looked at her smiling.

She listened to everything he said to her, feeling his fingers against the scar on her neck. He seemed to make everything right in the world. She felt his lips on her cheek, and she smiled at him nodding. "Thanks..." She said with a kind smile on her face, and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him and sighed a bit. Who would have thought, it would take a stranger to make her feel better about herself. So she just relaxed for a moment, and sighed.

They had to get going, that much she knew. So she decided to stand up "Come on before we are lunch and dinner" She said with a grin on her face and looked around. "Did you get everything you need? because I doubt that we will be back here for a while or if ever. You have any pets or anything?" She chuckled. "Or am I the only pet person here?"

"No problem." he said as he grabbed his bags and his short for the couch than walked ahead of her into the garage. "No I don't have any pets my job kept me to busy to keep a pet." he looked at her dog "It would have probably died on me of starvation or something." he chuckled and threw his things into the van.

"Speaking of lunch and dinner are you hungry?" he walked back to the kitchen to grab a quick snack. "Starving ourselves to death won't be of any help to anyone." he grabbed a bunch of bags of chips and cookies an put them on a back seat. "Lets go." he hopped into the drivers seat and waited for her to hop in.

She smiled at him kindly and nodded, watching him get some junk food. "I don't think we have to worry about starving to death." She watched him get back into the drivers seat and sighed a bit, getting into the passenger side. She sat down and sighed a bit as she grabbed the seat belt, and looked at him. "So where we going now?" She asked, looking over at her Dog she smiled at him. He was laying down on the matte in the back.

He looked at her sigh so much and wondered if something was wrong. "I don't know yet." he turned on the van and pulled out of the garage "Hey is everything ok?" he drove down his street a couple of blocks "Did I say something bad or out of line?" he looked at her again and reached one hand over put it in her shoulder "If I did I'm so sorry and I take it all back." he looked at the road ahead dodging all the wrecked cars in the way and looked back at her.

He drove out of his neighborhood passing one after another after another until he reached Hollywood Blvd. he had walked by here many times hoping one day to have a star of his own. He passed all the Stars all the buildings slowly hoping to maybe see a dead celebrity run at them trying to eat their brains or something. He laughed quietly at the thought. Who knows maybe they'd get lucky and be the heroes to one of the many celebrities that where here for some red carpet event. It was just hopeful dreaming but hey it didn't hurt. He turned back to look at V he was so concentrated on his dumb daydreams he completely forgot she seemed to have a problem.

He drove off Hollywood Blvd. onto the freeway drove off to some unknown location yet. "I honestly have no idea where we are going to go yet." he grabbed the map and handed it to her "Here maybe you can find something you like. There should be a lot of rural around here." he reached in his backpack keeping his eyes on the road and handed her another map. "Or maybe you want to stay in a celebrity home." he looked at her smiling wondering if which she would choose. Than looking more serious straight ahead at the road he said "Or we could just drive and drive until we meet other survivors in other states other cities, find a new stable place to call home... For now anyways." he didn't like the idea of leaving his home forever but there wasn't much of a choice right now. He whispered to himself "Whatever it takes to survive."

She smiled listing to everything he said "I'm fine, just thinking about what the hell is going on. I mean if we are the last none zombies in the world, then the human race will die and we are the last two in the world" When she was looking at what he said with the map, she picked the first place he pointed out. "Will be nice to find other people, I hope we do other wise. I'm not to sure what will happen to us" Veronica smiled at him.

"And you need to stop worrying about me so much I'm not a doll I wont break down." She chuckled at him and patted his hand that was on her. She really was ok, just doing a lot of thinking lately. And he wasn't to sure just how things would go for them, but as long as she had him she would be ok. And of course her dog.
