Sacrifice and Acclimation

"I am sorry to hear that you are cutting your trip short King Marek, but it seems my daughter is of mind to accept your invitation and depart with you as well. I hope that your stay here has been a pleasant one." The Queen stated as they ate.

Kaitlynn blushed slightly as he patted her hand. She was looking forward to their after dinner walk in the garden. She knew at some point she was going to have to marry. So far she found Marek quite the gentleman when he chose to be. But there seemed to be that edge about him that drew her in.

"It is nothing against your or your kingdom I assure you my queen" Marik said smiling and holding the princess's hand "I simply need to get back to my kingdom and prepare for the upcoming events also I have to admit I am very eager to show my darling her new people if every thing continues to go smoothly" He said winking and then turning to her.

"I have made the arrangements so we are all set we shall be leaving in three days time" He told her kissing her hand before dropping and going back to his food "I trust that is okay for every one involved" He said smirking in pleasure.

Kaitlynn was taken back a bit by the term of endearment used toward her in front of her mother. It was even stranger how her mother seemed to accept it. Her face felt hot and flushed from blushing at his affection.
After he released her hand she slowly pulled it back to her lap. He was a man that seemed to posses the ability to make her turn as red as a tomato at his whim. She wondered if she could detect a smile at his accomplishment.

"Three days is more then enough time to be sure she's adequately packed and ready for the trip." her mother replied. As dinner concluded they announced their walk through the gardens and her mother dismissed herself to finish up some tasks of the realm.

Taking his arm they walked once again out into the garden looking up just in time to see a shooting star. "What do your people say of shooting stars?" she questioned turning to him. Her eyes looking up as they stood inches from each other.

"That they are a gift from the gods" Marik replied watching it for a second before glancing back down at her "That they are meant to show us that they watch over us and that as long as we pray to them they will always be here"

"Of course I do not know about all that" He said with a wave of his hand "I do know that it means good luck and good fortune however"

"And I seem to be having that now"

He leaned in kissing her softly testing the waters. Once he was sure it wouldnt freak her out to badly he moved in wrapping his arms around her he kissed her deeply and with passion his tongue sliding into her mouth and claiming it as he kissed her under the stars.

She lost her breath when he leaned in to kiss her. Her body stiffened slightly before he broke it. Searching her eyes his lips returned to hers and kissed her with a fire she had never experience before in her life. Her arms slowly went up around his neck as her body was pulled tightly against his.

A soft moan came from her mouth into his as their tongues danced under the stars.

When the kiss finally broke she had to hold on to him to steady herself. A whirlwind of emotions shot through her eyes as she looked at him. Slowly steadying herself on her feet she stepped back from his arms, turned and began to walk back inside.

"I could not resist any longer" Marik said chuckling low and deep as he finally pulled away. His eyes were alight and dark with lust. His desire was painfully apparent from the sharp intake of his breath to the way he eyed her hungrily.

"I think we should call it a night" He finally said slowly a smirk pulling up on his face "I would hate to..... give in to temptation to early I find it hard to control my self around you"

He leaned in giving her one last deep kiss before he pulled away and stroking her cheek.

"Good night princess"

With that he turned disappearing back inside.

Her eyes were glassy, her cheeks flushed, and her body felt a fire she'd never even thought could have existed. If in that moment he had said we'll be married tomorrow she would have simply nodded in agreement. The only thing she was certain of is she didn't want that kiss to stop.

Slowly her senses came back as she stood now staring at the empty doorway. This man was dangerous and she couldn't get enough. But what traditions of his kingdom and teachings lie before her made her slightly hesitant. Did it really matter? He had already given his word she wouldn't be pushed outside her comfort zone. He already promised to honor her virtue till they wed.

Slowly she walked in milky eyed with a smile of utter joy. She made her way to her rooms balcony where she stood and looked out over the country. His kingdom sounded exotic, their ways were more open from what she gathered. It would take time and adjustment. But she was willing to do whatever it took to make him happy. Never had anyone that tried to court her caught her mind body and soul up into a twisted mess like he did. That was a good thing.
