safe sex?

preventing STD's and in doing that you prevent pregnancy as well.

Who REALLY uses condoms, everytime, without fail?

I do, always without fail. I use polyurethane not latex condoms.

Does your age have anything to do with your choice of safe sex?

No, I have always been this way.

Vasectomy option ... have you considered it?

No, but even if he did, we would still use a condom. Having known women who have gotten STDs from their long time monogamous husband's, I figure trust no one but yourself. It may just be my mood right now.

Does eating a lot of pineapple really make cum taste sweeter?

So I have heard.

Safe sex is being prepared, whatever that might mean. Preventing STDs is more important, in my book...a couple can be "ready" for dealing with the possibility of a child, but one can NEVER be ready to deal with an STD.

Who REALLY uses condoms, everytime, without fail?

An old boyfriend and I used them every single time, without fail. We were both clean, but getting pregnant would have been a serious disaster. (He was married, yeah yeah, I know I might get a lecture...) So, anyway, we were VERY careful. Since then, if I'm well-protected otherwise (on the pill, let's say), then condoms aren't necessary. Assuming, of course, that my partner is clean, and he is. :)

Does your age have anything to do with your choice of safe sex?

No. I began having sex when I was a teenager, and the first time was with a condom. I have been very, very careful ever since. I'm also tested every year, even if I've been in a monogamous relationship, because well...you never know, you know?

Vasectomy option ... have you considered it?

Well, I'm sure I would support him if he chose to do it. ;) I do plan on more kids one day, though, so it might put a damper on the relationship. On the other side of the coin, would I have my tubes tied? Not yet. One day, though, absolutely.

Does eating a lot of pineapple really make cum taste sweeter?

It works for us. :)

thanks,

As for the whole cumming thing...i dunno, maybe its cause Bill Clinton was the president for most of my growin' up years, but to me, theres a big difference between a blowjob and penetration. When getting a blowjob, i wont use a condom, cause, well, that'd just be no fun. Granted, i might contract something from the girl, but, and you can correct me if i'm wrong, theres a greatist risk if we have unprotected sex, then there is to getting a blowjob, right? I dunno, i've never thought about wearing a condom while getting a blowjob...but yeah, thats how i know how my cum tastes, i've been told, and i've had the great fortune of sharing lots of deep kisses with the girls after i cum deep in their mouths:D

edited to fix spelling:p

What is the difference between penetration of the mouth or vagina? You are in contact with soft tissue.
To explain it in the simpliest terms... If your partner is carrying the HIV virus it can be passed on to you through any open wound (including any nick or cut in the tissue of the mouth, penis, vagina.) Is it likely to happen? Let's hope not.

Have you ever thought about taking an HIV test? Would you even be worried a tiny bit about the results? If you say yes then you need to practice safe sex. If you said no and have had sex with anyone who's history you don't know 100% then you need to practice safe sex.

Remember that you are potentially "having sex" with everyone your partner has ever had sex with and everyone those people have had sex with......

Didn't they teach that in health education back in high school?

Would be wary of Depo Provera. My own experience, and that of friends I have has been an almost instant huge weight gain that is irreversible for years no matter how many diets or exercise programs you attempt. Of course doctors only mentioned that after I had accepted and acted on their advice. Is also not infallible in the pregnancy stakes.

STDs, man. Kids are a great responsibility, yada yada yada, but man, if my unit rots off...I'd rather be dead. I'd rather spontaneously combust than catch a nasty virus with my love device.

Well, that's a touchy question. In casual sex? One of my hottest somewhat-regular bedfellows and I have been on and off for eight years now and have never, not once, failed to use a condom. Even when we were in competitions. Even when we were on film. Even when we were in orgies of 12 people. Even then. Never forgot once. It's your life. I mean, it's like a seatbelt (which I also always wear). You may not need it 150 times, but when you do, it'll stop you from cracking your noggin' on 2 tons of steel. But the same question, if I'm in a long-term closed relationship (read: hell), then after we both get tested I tend to relax a little. It's worked for me so far.

Does your age have anything to do with your choice of safe sex?

Nope. I'm 24, and not at all. It's my fear of never having great sex again. :)

Vasectomy option ... have you considered it?

Nah. I only neuter my cats 'coz they piss on the floor.

Does eating a lot of pineapple really make cum taste sweeter?

Yep. YUM...but I've got to ask you guys something, 'coz maybe you can enlighten me. What makes a woman taste like french vanilla?

Some statistics. 70-90% of people have the cold sore virus which is actually oral herpes (herpes simplex virus type 1). Of the 70-90% of people who have oral herpes only 10% have recognisable symptoms. The remaining percentage either have such minor symptoms they go unrecognised or they are truly asymptomatic and have no symptoms. Oral herpes is transmittable to the genitals even in the absence of symptoms. 30-50% of new cases of genital herpes are now caused by type 1 transmitted through oral sex and most of these transmissions occur when the "giver" did not have symptoms. Think about it, if we go with saying 9 out of 10 people have oral herpes you've only got to have been given oral sex by 2 people and chances are you've been with someone who has oral herpes. Funny how cold sores are no big deal but when someone gets the exact same virus down south it's seen as dirty and gross. Standard std panels do not test for herpes, so unless you have specifically requested it chances are that the person who you thought "clean" is not so clean afterall.

And, just for the record, condoms don't provide total protection for sex of any kind as herpes is transmitted by skin to skin contact and the virus can shed from anywhere that is serviced by the same nerve pathways as the infected area (for oral herpes that would be the lower third of the face, for genital herpes the entire 'boxer-short' area).

A lot of other stds can also be transmitted from oral to genital. People seriously need to alter their perceptions of oral sex as being happy, dandy and just about risk free.

I've got a good web address to a discussion forum if anyone wants to read up more. However, I'm pretty sure I'll have no takers.

Thanks for all the replies

I just re-read the replies and am trying to remember my frame of mind when I posted this.

In my professional life I see young folks (teens and 20's) are usually most diligent about using condoms, except of course when they show up for prenatal counseling.

In my personal life I see men and women over 35 are hesitant or not prepared to use condoms. Talking to friends who are my age or older, and aren't concerned about the birth control issue I've heard ... "if I thought he/she wasn't safe/clean/healthy, I wouldn't be having sex". And yes, these are reasonably intelligent people, most are in the health care industry and know the risks.

And absolutely NO ONE I've talked to in my totally informal and useless poll ever considered using a condom (or the female equivalent) during oral sex. I floss my teeth daily and at least once or twice a week I'm too forceful and end up with a small amount of bleeding between the teeth. Not to mention the piping hot pizza that blisters the top of my mouth or the Tortillas that stab my gums.

Point is that my mouth is certainly more likely to have a "breakdown in skin integrity" and be a portal for all sorts of nasty germs. So it would seem that I'd be more likely to contract something there than through vaginal intercourse. I know this but damn, I just cannot imagine oral sex with a barrier between my mouth and his penis. (lol ... nurse mode ... coulda just said cock!)

Gracious, I'm rambling. It's late and I'm out of nurse mode for the weekend. Hope everyone has a fun and safe one.

my also totally useless poll on taste has made me decide to give up the beer and switch to pineapple juice (with a splash or two of vanilla flavored rum!)

*** what is it with guys and vanilla ??? ***

Oh have Mercy ... as if this day hasn't been bad enough ... sweet Jen thinks I'm a man.

Please forgive me, with your decision to change from beer to pineapple juice that made me assume that you were a man, seeing as most men drink beer and as we had discussed that men drink pineapple juice to better the taste of their cum I deduced that you were a man, but seeing as how you're a lady, you KNOW I'd love to go down on you as well. :D

Don't mind me. I'm insane today. :)

Jen,

You're batting a thousand and making me feel SO not like a woman. Cracked up at your post ... had to run pee real quick ... (get rid of the first Bud!) ... and drowned a mosquito in the toilet. Yeah! A freaking mosquito! God I love the South!

Yes, real women drink beer!

I guess I assumed that if pineapple was good for the gander also was good for the goose.

Not only an I insane too ... also awesomely tired and goofy. Thanks for the giggle.
