Sanctuary for Illegals

But you do not understand borders and national security.

All I can say is, " I'm quite sure I do". But getting back to my original point, I don't feel there should be an adversarial relationship between my state's AG and Federal Immigration authorities. Basically I'm saying I'm against the idea of "sanctuary" cities or states. I have told my AG this. When it comes time for his re-election, I'll support the candidate who will be cooperative with Federal authorities on this issue.

So, are people fleeing Drug Cartels or not? That's what you said before.

That is what I said. And if you'd bother to read the damn news you'd know Mexico is cracking down on it's southern border where a lot of the problems originate in Central America.

I never said the border was unsecured what I gave you was a reason why people might cross illegally into the US.

So let's recap since you seem to be a massive dumbass.

1. Illegal crossings are down thanks in part to: economic situations, desire to reunite with family in Mexico, and Mexico cracking down it's southern border.

2. There are many reasons people make illegal border crossings. I gave you just one reason: violence.

You can hold those two thoughts in your head at the same time can't you?

Can't have them freezing to death on the Manitoba border now can we? Be down right unhumanitarian. A couple of guys already lost their fingers, Be damned if some children will die!

When there are legal avenues available for immigrants to obtain entry into the US and citizenship, defending illegal immigration is damned absurd, actually.

A few years ago, my wife's daughters and grandchildren from the Philippines joined us. It took 16 years from the time their immigration was approved until they actually arrived, and these were family members. How long do you think it takes if there is no family connection? :(

See the OP. Bank robbery is also a federal offense.

Discretionary enforcement. Pot is still federally illegal. Not much they can do about it either. Not enough money in budgets to go after small time users and individual undocumented people. Bigger fish to fry with less resources all the time.
