Frosted Apple Pie Bars:
CRUST:
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. baking powder
3/4 c shortening
2 egg yolks, beaten
1 t. lemon juice
1/2 c cold water
Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening as for pie crust. Combine egg yolks, lemon juice and water. Add to flour mixture and mix. Divide dough into 2 parts. Roll out 1 portion on floured board. Line bottom and sides of a 10x15" pan.

Filling:
8 large apples, pared and sliced
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 T. Flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Coat apples thoroughly with mixture of sugar, salt, flour and cinnamon. Arrange in crust-lined pan and cover with top crust. Seal edges and make decorative slits. Bake at 375 for 50 to 60 minutes.

Frosting:
1 C. powdered sugar
1 T. lemon juice
1 T. Milk
Spread on bars while warm.

Yes I just modify it to the Splenda. There isn't any taste difference

Me too. But it's really not bad. Cut it back just a little, and you don't have the splenda aftertaste.

I figured that out on my own. I put in a little more cinnamon too.

Me too, but I rarely use a measuring cup or a teaspoon. I was taught by the best 'dump' cook in the county.

I measure only a few things and new recipes.

I always measure rice. If I don't I have a mess.
