Ah the teachers' favorite day! Revenge!

I loved conference day because I had the kids prepare their parents with the true story of Bubba.

I thought you'd never ask......

Bubba, his real nickname, was a kid I taught in the 7th grade. It was a K-8 school and I taught every subject. Well Bubba's parents were upset about a grade on his report card. They insisted it was incorrect. They wanted the grade changed. They were irate that he'd received such a low grade. I was asked to see my grade book, which I politely handed over. I gave them a calculator to figure out his grade. They figured out his grade and sure enough, I had made a mistake, so I changed the D to an F! Well they hit the ceiling and went to the principal who sent them to the district's area office. The area office told them that they had no case since they had insisted his grade was incorrect and wanted it changed. I had changed it.

I got a call from the area office and the area superintendent was in stitches. He was a man who rarely smiled.
