That's nice color. I like dragons, and I like tattoos that have some meaning. Does yours represent something -- an event, a change in your life, a goal, something like that?

I was living with an artist (who had several nice tatoos). She took me to a biker convention, and talked me into getting one. After about 20 minutes of looking, I found that one. The dragon is for martial arts (several years of competition) and the guitar is for my music (I play & teach guitar & bass).

The best part of the story was the guy started doing the work and it began to get uncomfortable. I have a high tolerance for some pain, but evidentally not for needles. When he got to my tricept, I almost screamed. I looked around and there were about 20 huge bikers watching (the guy who did mine is somewhat of a local legend). I sat there trying to look cool, while a voice is screaming in my head, "Stop, please!" It's good work. Someday I want to find an excellent artist to do a portrait of my daughter on the front of my right shoulder.

Thanks for saying nice things. It really took a lot for me to put up pics. I've been a lazy-ass for so long, I was really nervous. Maybe by the end of summer I can put up a picture and not cringe.

It can be hard to put up pictures. Even when no one says it, you hear the judgements and they are always negative in your head. It's one reason I have trouble keeping up some of the "racier" AVs I have -- even when everyone compliments me, I hear the echo in my head about how bad I look, how wrong it is, how pitiful the attempt, etc.

I have no tattoos myself, because my skin doesn't heal well and scars easily. However, I have a friend living in Greece now who is a tattoo artist. When I want one ( and I know what I want) I have promised him I will travel there and let him do it, since he will stand still if I feel a need to kick him afterwards
