Abigail Brewster
Age: 24
Height: 5'2", Weight: 116 lbs.
Hair: Black with purple tips
Eyes: Brown but she wears contacts to make them appear purple

Coming from an average family, to most which meant poor, Abigail never felt like she was lacking anything in her life. She knew her family didn't have everything but as her grandmother always said, if they didn't have it, they didn't need it.

And Abigail lived off that.

In school, Abigail was a perfect student, so when she was recruited to attend the Wells Academy when she had graduated high school, she was beyond shocked. It was the schools part in doing good by letting one under priviledged community member attend the prestigous college. But Abby didn't see it like that, she saw it as a chance to better herself and become successful in life.

Little did she know that the school's academics were even harsher than the other students who would talk about her behind her back. But still, Abby wasn't a quitter, she needed help so she asked for it....

Little did she know she would end up falling for Chris, her tutor...

******

Her eyes were red...beyond red and bloodshot, they were just a mess.

Abby hadn't stopped crying for the past few days about the breakup of her and Chris. It just couldn't be true, damnit! She and Chris were perfect for each other, they could talk to one another about everything...that was until he returned from his little mission to Africa...how the hell did things go so wrong in such a short amount of time?!

Sure they both did things they regretted but they could let the past be the past right?

No... Abby hated to admit it but she was the jealous type. Not to the point of being abusive but she just knew that everyone in Chris' circle of friends was better than her, and it was hard to get Chris to understand that... no matter what, Abby felt like an outsider.

Why didn't she fight harder for him? Why did she have to screw things up more by sleeping with Alexander? Shit, why did Alexander have to tell everyone and anyone he could that he and Abby fucked.

That was the word he used too, fucked.

Sniffling, Abby laid back in bed and picked up her phone for the umpteenth time...no missed calls from Chris, no text messages from Chris...nothing from Chris....

Chris Matson
Age: 26
Height 6'4"
Weight: 187 lbs
Hair: blonde, or dirty blond as some would call it
Eyes: Blue

Chris grumbled as he looked at all the photos of him and Abby together. He hated to look at them, yet he couldn't throw them away... not yet. As much as it pained him to see her smiling face in them, he knew he would still she her when he closed his eyes.

It was all his fault. All his damn fucking fault. He decided to go on a trip to Africa to help out some starving people. It made him feel good. Yet while he had been there, he got friendly with a young woman named Justine, a dark skin beauty from France. She was a year older then him, and had been working with Aid Programs like the one he was helping since she was 16.

Every day he could he thought of Abby though... but he had been away from her for two weeks... and Justine seemed to take a liking to him. Then one night, when the two of them were sitting around a fire talking... she kissed him, and he didn't stop her. When he had woke up the next morning, Justine sprawled out along his body... his first thoughts were "What the hell did I just do!?" And, "What will I tell Abby."

He cut things off with Justine right away, telling her it was all a mistake. He went back home... intent to tell Abby everything. But when he saw her, he couldn't... and he hated himself more and more as time went on. He pushed her away, thinking what a piece of big shit ball he was. Every day he wanted to tell her... to make it up to her.

Then he found out Alex has slept with her. He caught his former best friend in the open and confronted him about it. After hearing Alex go on and on about what a slut she was he punched him right in the nose and walked away.

He found Abby, in tears, confessing everything. Thats when he confessed as well. And told her it was over. That if the both of them could cheat on each other, then it couldn't work out.

And he had so wanted it to. Before he left for Africa he had left, he had bought an engagement ring. He had planned on proposing to her when he got back. Now the ring just sat there in its little box, and he couldn't dare bring himself to look at it.

He looked at his phone, half expecting it to ring and have Abby's cute face pop up, letting him know it was her. But it didn't. It was over. It was all over.

What the hell had he done.

Having no choice but to get out of her apartment, Abby went to the corner coffee shop to get her ususal cup of coffee. There used to be some mornings that Chris would show up unexpectedly and surprise Abby by waiting for her with her usual order, a large coffee and a blueberry bagel.

Today wasn't going to be one of those days.

She felt so miserable but she put on a brave face. Abby couldn't be holed up forever in her place. She had called in her limit of absenses from work anyway....

After she got her order, Abby sat down in the back of the small shop... she sat facing away from everyone and just stared at the wall while sipping her coffee. God, she never realized how miserable she was without Chris. Just knowing that they were over after all they had been through...

Remembering the first time he had introduced Abby to his friends, they had immediately told her she didn't belong..of course it was all during when Chris was making them drinks. Abby didn't know what to say, but they had literally shut her up and made her first time meeting them truly awful. She never told Chris about it because she didn't want to make it seem like she was complaining or whining. So Abby did what she had to do, she just took it.

That was years ago, now they were done with the school for the summer, Abby didn't think she could go back to anyway if she was going to run into him but she was one year shy of graduation and she couldn't give up her dream now...

What was she going to do with herself for the next 2 months? Since starting college, she had spent her off time with Chris, he took her on vacations...nothing expensive, even just little drives up to the mountains for a hike...or to the beach down South for a weekend. Even though he came from money, Abby never gave it a second thought. Sure he was rich but that's not what attracted her to him.

Chris well...he was Chris. He loved to help out people. At first, Abby thought the only reason he asked her out was because he felt sorry for her. But of course, that wasn't the case, he liked her and the feeling was very mutual.

She wanted him back, damnit! This wasn't fair. But when he came back from Africa, he was quiet, as if thinking over something... he pushed her away. Oh, how Abby wanted to push but she was afraid the more she did push, the further Chris would pull away.

That's when it all happened. She had a God awful day at work one day and the first thing she did after work was run straight to Chris' place, planning to get what ever it was on his mind, off.... But he wasn't home. She had forgotten, it was his night to have dinner with his parents. That's when she bumped into Alex, who lived in the same building. Abby couldn't say how it all started but she started to confess everything to Alex about the trouble she and Chris were having... then he comforted her and one thing lead to another...

God, she wish she could take it all back...

But you can't.. a little voice told her in the back of her head. He broke things off when Abby was willing to let all that had happened just be one bad memory and they could go on with their lives. But like a blow to the head, he broke it off with her... damnit!

Chris shook his head as his phone rang once again. He already knew who it was. He had set up a special ringtone just for this person. His mother.

Well she wasn't going to stop if he just ignored her. He picked it up and groaned as he answered it. "Yes Mother?" He said as he rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"Christopher dear, I heard that you and that harlot broke up. I am so happy to hear you finally came to your senses." He heard his condescending mother's voice though his phone.

"Mom... I didn't come to my senses. I made a mistake. And if I could I would do everything in my power to fix it. I miss Abigail. This is all my fault."

"But I heard-."

"You heard wrong mother. While I did break things off with her, it was my fault. And I don't need to hear you telling me how happy you are, or that I'm better off meeting a girl you approve of or is of the right family.... You know what mom. Bugger off." He said as he hung up on her. He could already hear her taking a deep breath in, ready to hurl a torrent upon him, but his phone was turned off as soon as he could press the button.

He tossed his phone across his apartment. His lonely apartment... where everything reminded him of Abby and the time they spent together here. And where he so wanted to spend more time with her.

Urgh, he needed to get out. He got up. He needed coffee. Thats it. That would take his mind off his shit-hole of a life. Yeah.... keep telling yourself that you fucking prick. You king of morons. Ruin the most important thing in your life and say hey, "Coffee will make it all better." I hope you fall and break you neck on the way.

He ignored himself. It was all he could do without wanting to bash his own head in.

He made his way to to the little coffee shop... his mind lost in thought. He never noticed the one person he so wanted to see and yet never see again sitting in the corner of the little shop.

Abby would've stayed there all day if she could but she had things to do today. She needed to clean up her apartment, get some groceries and then meet with a girlfriend later on who wanted to take Abby out to a club, hopefully to forget about Chris... but nothing could make her forget about him. Oh how she wanted to talk to him so bad but she knew he wouldn't talk to her. He had made that abundantly clear when he broke things off.

She was at the last sip of her coffee when she over heard someone behind her in the booth next to hers.. "....so it was a great movie about how a guy kidnapped this girl and took her to a cabin deep in the woods, miles and miles from civilization where he--"

Sighing, Abby stopped listening and got up, she hadn't realized the little shop was getting crowded and that was her time to take leave. She didn't feel like being around a lot of people right now. Pushing her now empty coffee cup away, Abby scooted out from the booth only to almost bump into someone.

Melissa.

Mel had a long standing crush on Chris and had taken to hating Abby not just because she wasn't one of them but the fact that she took Chris from her. When asked about it casually one day, Chris had told Abby he was never with Melissa and that she was just a jealous person, not to mention greedy.

"Well, well, hello Abigail," Melissa's condescending tone could be heard from across the shop, she was sure of it. Melissa always made it a point to be heard. "You really need to watch where you're going, these shoes cost a lot, probably more than you'll make in a month...oh wait, you and Chris broke up...I meant it costs more than you'll make in a lifetime...now that you're not with Chris any more that is..."

It was no use for Abby to fight back, instead she walked around Melissa that's when she noticed him at the counter...her heart jumped in her throat and she wanted to run into his arms but quickly turned and hastily made a quick exit.

The cool morning air was like a slap to the face but Abby didn't care, Melissa had thoroughly embarrassed her in front of Chris, just when she thought things couldn't get any worst!

Chris turned around after he got his coffee, just about to take a sip when... There was Abby and Mel. Standing there in front of him. He had missed what went between the two, but from the look of pure shock and embarrassment on Abby's face, and the smug one on Mel's... it wasn't good.

Chris was suddenly torn to go back on his orders for her to stay away from him. He wanted to wrap his arms around her and tell her everything was going to be okay. But he couldn't move. Things were over, and he had to let it all go.

Then Abigail dashed out of the coffee shop and was gone. And all Chris did was stand there holding his coffee.

"Hey Chris, how are you." Melissa said sweetly. He just looked out the shop in the direction Abby ran off in. He should've known... this was their shop. Why had he come here.

"Chris... hello?" Melissa spoke up, slightly agitated.

"Oh, hey Mel. How are you?" He said distantly. He couldn't get his head off of Abby. But he needed too. And maybe this chance encounter with Mel would help him. He knew she always had a thing for him. He was never interested in her, but maybe she could help him forget about what was, so he could move on to what should be.

"Oh, nothing, what plans do you have tonight?" She asked as sweetly as before. Chris looked over to her. She was pretty, there was no doubt about it. But she was also here, and maybe just wanted he needed.

"No, how about you, got any plans?" He said sweetly to her as she fluttered her eyes and tried to look all sexy in her over priced makeup and outfit.

"Oh... no." She replied

"Ah, what a shame." He responded.

"I know. But I bet I know something that would put that whole thought of shame away. You, me, dinner... then back to your place. Say 7?" She said as she brought one of her fingers to her lips and sucked on the tip. Always with the games of seduction with Mel.

"Sure. Why not. I'll pick you up." Chris smiled.

Why did he feel like he was cheating on Abby, as Mel smiled and walked away. It wasn't like they were still together. Man, it was going to be hard to get over her. He was so sure she was the one too.
