Auron

He came back to his senses with soft and fluffy things all around him and delayed opening his eyes for a few seconds to let himself imagine that he was being treated by seven goddesses and just woke up from a nap to go back to hugs and kisses and caresses. But then he remembered all that had happened and his eyes snapped open to see the ceiling above him and he realised he was in bed, covered and hugged by someone... One of the goddesses from his dream perhaps? He turned his head to the side and saw Ash, peacefully asleep in his embrace, with a small smile playing on his lips. He moved a bit and kissed her forehead, drawing her closer in his embrace delicately so as not to wake her up.

Over Ash's shoulder he saw a wooden cradle standing near the bed but he had no way of peering inside without moving much so he lay back on the bed, drawing comfort from Ash's presence near him and the thought that this horror was finally over. Sighing deeply Auron closed his eyes again and rested.

Some hours later, Ash woke up and stretched, feeling warm and safe in her love's embrace. Shifting, she propped herself up slightly, taking care as to not to wake him just yet and winced. Oh! She was definitly sore though!

Glancing over at the craddle, she smiled and then peered down at Auron and bent down to kiss his nose, then his cheek, then his lips. Gently she bumped his nose and rubbed his with hers until his eyes fluttered open. She smiled again then, gazing into his. "Hi...I couldn't wait to wake you any longer." She murmured softly and kissed him again.

She heard him moan against her mouth and felt a rush of heat that thrilled her to no end. Even if they couldn't make love just yet, she could at least be close to him. Tracing his lips with her tongue, she coaxed his mouth open and then tasted him. A soft whimper caught in her throat. Yes...she was home!

Auron

Feeling soft touches all over his face Auron opened his eyes realising he had fallen asleep again and now his body ached from lying in one position for too long. His arm that Ash had been resting upon felt a little numb and the unpleasant tickle of blood rushing through it made him want to cut it off. His mind was turned from such uninteresting topics with Ash kissing his on his mouth and sneaking her tongue inside. He felt and heard himself moan as the familiar taste and touch of her lips on his enflamed his passions once again and he hugged her closer in a delicate yet firm embrace. Feeling so close to her almost made him forget all the strife they had been through or at least temorarily pried such thoughts away from his mind. He found comfort in her arms, reassuring himself that she was real and next to him and loving him as he loved her.

He tried breaking their kiss but Ash moaned a no-no and held his face strongly, continuing their reunion for a while longer.

The rush of love she felt for Auron was almost painful and she couldn't quite get enough of his taste, his touch as he pulled her closer. Half over him, she pressed her swollen breasts against his chest, her soft belly on his side and one leg wrapped over his thighs. Finally she let him breath a little and smiled softly, "Sorry...it just felt so good to taste you again. I almost feel like it's a dream and if it is, I don't want to wake up." She murmured, her fingers lightly dancing over his face, wanting to trace and touch every inch of him.

Shifting, she sat up and brushed her hair back from her face. The soft white gown she wore left much to the imagination, but it didn't matter much to either of them. They were together again. "How do you feel? You passed right out and hit the floor hard."

Auron

Auron smiled and brushed some hair away from Ash's face. "I'm okay, just very tired and hurting all over. But nevermind me. How are you feeling? Are you okay? Shall I get you anything?" he asked with care and anxiety. He had heard that labours are taxing and exhausting and Ash surely looked tired but at the same time genuinely happy.

He stroked her cheek. "I'm glad all this is over and we can live peacefully now wherever we choose. Also..." he added playing with his signet ring on one of her fingers. "We can exchange this piece of heavy metal for something more subtle and suiting..."

She looked at the ring and smiled, "That would be wonderful...even though this is lovely, it's a bit big." She sighed whistfully and bent down to give him another soft kiss, "I'm fine. Labor was...hard. I guess that's why they call it labor." She laughed and grinned, "But the Fate's were wonderful. He's beautiful...but I have yet to pick out a name...do you have a preference?" She asked him, shifting to peak at their son who was still sleeping peacefully.

When she turned back to Auron again, she was frowning slightly, "But I do have one worry that I must speak to the Fates about. Ganelon...I am a rian'tel. Which means bad luck will always find me to save you. I don't want something bad to happen to our child...do you think it's wise...that we..." She swallowed hard, not wanting to even think of the possibility of splitting up again. "stay together when there could be so much danger for the little guy? I am his mother, the one who's supposed to nurture him, but how can I if I'm constantly chasing off illnesses and monsters and god knows what else?"

Auron

Auron thought about the implications of what Ash had just said and had to agree with her anxiety. If she were still to be persecuted by the damn bad luck that had been tailing her all her life then the life of their child was endangered as well. All because of the Fates' heartless wheel of Fortune and their bloody plan. He held Ash in his arms and smiled at her.

"I will talk some sense to them and whip their butts to make them listen to reason if they won't agree to relieve us both of this blasted duty we had never asked for and were asked if we would accept it. I don't feel like being their toy anymore, not after the way they had used us to save their sorry behinds..."

He smiled at Ash and winked kissing her nose and making her giggle a bit. "But we'll take care of that when time comes. For now perhaps you should introduce me to the little fella over there. And we will think of a name for him so that he takes strength and courage after his daddy and beauty and determination after his mommy."

She smiled at Ganelon warmly and kissed him softly, then moved away. Carefully she got out of bed, wincing slightly from her soreness, but wanting badly to hold their son again and let Ganelon meet the little guy.

He was still sleeping soundly and was warm and cozy as she picked him up and craddled him in his blankets against her chest. Slowly she sat back down on the bed and shifted back with Ganelon's help. "He has your hair color already." She murmured softly, gently pushing back the blankets so that Ganelon could take a better look at their son.

A soft mop of redish hair covered his little head. He was all pink and soft, his face peacefully relaxed in sleep. His soft lips forming a cute little pouty face and his fists clenched up under his chin. Ash couldn't stop smiling and glanced over at Ganelon, kissing his cheek. "You want to hold him before he gets hungry and demands a feeding?"

Auron

"Erm... okay," Auron replied a little uncomfortably as he had never held a child in his arms before and gently took the little bundle from Ash's hands and helt in securely against his chest, looking down at the round, pink, sleeping face and the slightly parted lips. Their son's hands were small and frail and he couldn't help smiling at the small life he was holding. "What do I do if he wakes up and starts screaming? Besides... he's strangely silent... I guess he got tired too," he joked and with a smile handed the baby back to Ash and sat next to her watching his little family with a happy heart.

"Okay... what do you say we name him Lancelot?"

Ash laughed softly and wrinkled her nose. "I don't think that's suits him." She said and gently traced her sons features with fingertips. He stirred and made a soft whiny sound, his mouth working. She grinned and slipped a finger over his lips. He happily began sucking on it and she giggled. "Guess someone is hungry again...lets just be happy he's quiet right now. I know later on he'll probably drive us both a little silly with constant chatter and noise. That's a child's job." She joked and began parting her gown.

As Auron watched, her breast came into view. Fuller and rounder, still tempting to the touch even as he watched his son latch on eagerly to her nipple. She gasped in surprise, still not used to the feeling and made a face. "Ow! He has suction!" She grinned and winked at him, "I'm glad you're not that eager about my breasts or I might be in trouble."

Auron

"Just you wait some time and I will show you how much I can be eager about a breast or two," Auron said with warm smile as he watched his son suckling and even helping himself a little with his hands. "Oh, see see! He's already taking after me!" he joked and delicately stroked the small head. "Gosh, he's so small and tiny. To think that one day he will grow up..." Auron sighed and plopped back against the pillows next to Ash.

He watched her out of the corner of his eye as she happily fed the baby and he lay back with his hands behind his head.

"How about Biren then?" he asked, the inventive gears in his head spinning and working hard.

Ash shook her head, "Too stuffy...I'd like something strong...like yours. Although I think Ganelon the second or junior wouldn't suit him at all." She giggled at the thought and pulled her nipple away from the sleepy infant. Tucking her breast away, she gently burped him, then rocked him back to sleep before setting him back into his crib.

Crawling back into bed, she sighed and relaxed back down, facing Ganelon. "I can't wait until I feel like myself again...I'm just so sore and tired." She murmured with a yawn and slid her hand up his chest, letting it rest on his heart, "Did...did you find your uncle? What of your family...what will you tell them about all this?"

Auron

"I'll tell them nothing. Zelgadiss will have to file a report about the proceedings here so it will be solved officially. He was in the dungeon along with other prisoners Garlock, may he burn in hell forever, threw in there," Auron replied. "They'll see for themselves. I bet mother will just faint seeing me come back married and with a son already... All in less than half a year. And already my namequest finished. Damn, my father will be green with jealousy. It had taken him so long to complete his. I must have set a new record I think," Auron continued, stroking Ash's hand with his fingers and drumming a beat on her skin.

"Oh, the ancestors gave me a new name -- I am Auron Swordbearer now, the recognised heir to my family's legacy. It's a cool name but I like Ganelon better I think... Shut up, grandpa!" he said hearing his grandfather's nasty comment in his head.

"If you don't like Biren... what do you say to Crell?"

She smiled, proud that Ganelon had set out to do what he needed to do in so little time. "That is wonderful...Now are you're free to do what you'd like, right?" She snuggled closer, "Auron hmmm?? It is lovely, but no...you'll always be Ganelon to me. Now Crell...sounds powerful enough, but sort of barberic too. I don't know...but keep going, you're getting better." She teased with a soft kiss on his chin. "I want you to name him. I know you'll come up with a wonderful name for him that'll be just right."

Just then, their door opened up, letting way to three Fates. They were all smiles at the cozy sight. "Hello you two..." Merygold spoke, "We were about to leave, but there is a small matter we must take care of before hand. I hope you don't mind."

Ash gave them a curious look and shook her head. Ganelon looked a little put off, but said nothing as they both sat up, Ganelon helping Ash and holding her close. "What is it?"

Auron

Auron sighed discontentedly as the merry trio of carefree Fates barged inside on their calm moment and made a nice mess of it. Merygold stepped forward as the representative and looking at the two of them seriously began talking.

"I know that you are probably coming up with a name for you son and I know what I am about to put forwars will sound preposterous and outrageous to you but it has to be said and we have to see your reaction and whether you'll agree or not..."

"How about you get to the point and stop beating around the bush?" Auron cut in, annoyed.

"Yes, you're right. Well, we'd like you to, if it isn't too much of a bother..."

"Oh, just shut up, Merygold! Had having your face cut off such an impact on your conversational skills?" Lachesia interrupted angrily. "Mebbeth, you tell them!"

"Ach, very well," Mebbeth stepped to the side and sat next to the cradle. "We want yeh to name the boy Rand. Simple as that. We see that he has an even greater destiny to fulfill than the two of you had. But for that to happen his name must be Rand."

Auron thought for a moment. It was a nice name with a pleasant tone to it. He glanced at Ash who seemed to be thinking the very same thing as her face lit up and she smiled widely, "I like it."

"It is a great name for our son. We can agree to that on one condition..."

"You dare bargain with us, boy!?" Merygold cried.

"Either you agree or look yourselves for another Rand. I want you to cancel our roles as your helpers. We want nothing else to do with this or with you. Well, Mebbeth, what say you?"

All three pursed their lips in thought until Mebbeth finally spoke. "That I cannot undo, boy." Her older voice was raspy, but held compassion toward the two of them. "We figured that you would worry about Ash being a rian'tel and how that would take a toll of both of you and the little one. Then we saw his destiny and came up with only one solution. Although we cannot end the fact that you will be our helpers, we can make Ash from rian'tel to ta'veren. This way no real harm will come her way or yours and the three of you will be as one unit."

Ash gripped Ganelon's hand and squeezed it. "What if we have another child?" she asked, praying that was also possible.

Mebbeth gave them a toothless grin and chuckled, "She will be beautiful, like her mother, but hold no powers as you three. There can only be three until deamed otherwise. This is the way...but it won't stop you from having more children."

Ash glanced at Ganelon. "Well, seems as though we have little choice...I see no other way."

Auron

Auron shrugged and made a resigned sigh. "Oh well, it's a fair bargain as long as nobody gets hurt pointlessly. And Rand is a very nice name. Consider yourselves a deal, meddlers in human lives... Ouch, what!?" he massaged his arm where Ash punched him.

"Be polite, honey," she said sweetly and smiled.

"Well then. That is all and unless you have some requests or wishes we could grant you we will be on our way. We've been postponing doing our duty for a while now and should get back to it," Lachesia said.

"Wwwwait just a moment. Which one of you three is responsible for cutting our threads once the time comes?"

"Oh bah! Who do you think?" Lachesia said again. "Merygold of course. Would you like to be carried by the hand to the Great Beyond by a toothless crone like Mebbeth?"

Auron glanced at Merygold and for a moment saw in the her the Cowled Fiddler who had spoken to him in Atrolia, at the very begining of the journey, after he had been wounded by the stone monster.

"I told you we'd meet again in our time, boy, didn't I?" the redheaded beauty winked at him.

Then he looked at Mebbeth, trying to imagine what she would have looked as death.

"I know just what yer thinkin' now, you naughty lad," she cackled. "Boo!" she scared him and laughed loudly and at the same time Rand woke up and began screaming.

Ash couldn't help but laugh as the three Fates left, leaving her to sooth an upset baby. Ganelon did the honors this time of scooping up the little guy and handing him to her. She smiled up at him as she gently rocked Rand back to sleep. He looked a bit rumpled, but still as handsome as ever.

It didn't take but a moment for the little guy to fall right back to sleep, snuggling up to Ash's breast. Carefully she handed him back over to Ganelon who placed him back in the crib. She patted the bed next to her where he gladly returned and embraced her. Warm and snug, they wrapped themselves around one another and rested again.

The next few days were a blurr for Ash. Between getting ready for their trip away from the mansion and dealing with a new child, she had her hands busy. Ganelon himself seemed to be running in and out, giving her grins and kisses and ocassionally wrapping her up in sensual hugs that left her wanting.

On the third day since Garlock's death, Ash was finally ready to go, but before the trip, she had the chance to meet Ganelon's Uncle Z. With Rand craddled in her arms, she pressed close to Ganelon's side as he lead her down to the main living quarters. "Think he'll like me?" She asked him curiously, "Not that it matters, I suppose." She quickly added.

Auron

Zelgadiss was too tired and busy to have them for long and he only expressed his thanks for their help, congratulating them on their son and hoping that he would meet them on the annual gathering of the Swordbearers. With that the audience was over and Auron was a little put off but that was just his uncle. The majordomo, a bit more polite than he had been during Auron's first visit, informed them that all of their wishes were to be granted. Auron thanked him and asked for a new room to be prepared as they were going to spend some time there before going their way. Ash was too sore and still tired after her ordeal to be able to travel.

And so they had remained in Zelgadiss's manor for a full month before they decided to depart. It was a month full of sleepless nights, healthy chaild's screams and cries, dirty diapers, etc. For a time he actually wondered if he'd also been such a screaming kid who just wouldn't let his parents sleep peacefully. Finally Auron asked for a pair of horses and provisions and they went on their way, going back to Auron's house.

Ash was thrilled to be on the way again. Although Ganelon's Uncle was generous - it didn't feel like home and she desperately wanted time alone with the two men in her life.

With Rand securely wrapped in a sling around Ash's body, she and Ganelon set out together, waving their farewells to the people they had become fond of.

Alone once more and on the road, Ash smiled happily at Ganelon, cuddling their baby close as the horse gently walked along the roadside. "Like old times!" She joked, giving him a wink.

He gave her one of his charming, heart stopping grins and chuckled. "Well...what do you think your family will think?" She finally asked him, peering down at their bundle of joy, "I'm sure they will be shocked. I just hope it doesn't cause any problems...you know, this was a bit of a strange meeting."

She look back at him, smiling, but clearly a little anxious and worried.

Auron

Auron extended his hand and grasped Ash's palm in his, squeezing gently, reassuring her everything would be alright. He smiled a warm smile at her and their son.

"Everything will be alright, baby. They'll have no choice but to accept you and our son. You see, I am the only son of my parents and now that my namequest is over I am a recognised member of the family. Soon you will be my wife so they will have no choice. Actually, the sooner we get married, the better I think. With the slow pace we are making it will take more than a month for us to get home. We might as well have the ceremony in Coliander. And we can have the boy named properly in a temple as well."

Ash smiled, beaming with joy. "I can't wait...it'll be so lovely. I just wish this little guy might have waited a bit longer...but it's perfect still." She sighed whistfully and felt as though her world was complete. "Well I cannot wait to meet your family...even if they don't accept me at first...I find families so fascinating. Will you be able to see your sister again?"

Just at that moment, Rand decided that it was his dinner time. She grinned and jostled him lightly, soothing him with a light voice and gentle touch. "I think someone wants to eat, Daddy...perhaps we should break?"

Auron

"Oh, sure," Auron stopped his horse, alit and helped Ash down. As she waited he spread a blanket on the grass and let the animals graze. As she was feeding Rand he prepared them a small meal as well: bread, some smoked fish, salted meat and a few tomatoes he had stolen from the kitchen.

Auron looked around, checking the horizon and local area for any other travellers and seeing none he sat next to Ash and poured some wine into leather cups and began eating. When the little fella was full up and burped Ash took her share of food and munched on it thoughtfully. Auron watched her with a small smile playing on his lips, more in love with his woman than ever before. They had weathered a terrible ordeal and come up victorious -- nothing in the world would be capable of separating them now.

"Oh! I almost forgot!" he slapped his forehead and rummaged in his sack, fishing a small pouch with chocolate he had bought what seemed like ages ago. He opened it and peeked inside, instead of neatly cut pieces of sweets he found a melted brown lump. "Well, shucks! I wanted to give this to you when we were finally reunited but it slipped from my mind completely. Sorry, I think it's no longer edible..."

Ash giggled and grinned, looking down at the brown lump that had once been a gift of chocolate. Tears filled her eyes and she suddenly sniffled, blinking them back. "Oh! Sorry...I've heard that women get emotional during and after having their babies." She swiped away some tears and gave him a sweet smile. "Thank you...it was a lovely thought."

Grabbing his hand, just pulled him down for a kiss. Fully intending it to be a soft, thank you kiss and yet it worked it's way into a hot, wet, heart stopping, body burning kiss that left them both gasping and aching for more. Pulling away, she gazed at him with glassy eyes. "Perhaps we should make a rule of not touching until we can finish what we started." She teased softly. Grazing a soft hand over his belly, she felt his stomach clench and quiver, feeling a rush of satisfaction that she still made him want her as she wanted him. "Perhaps when Rand is sleeping tonight I'll take care of you." She said with a naughty little wink and grin.

Her son squirmed on her lap and let out a short wail as if demanding attention and she laughed, looking down at him and letting him grab hold of a finger with strong little fingers.

Auron

The heart lurched in his chest and skipped a beat when Ash kissed him hard and deep and he followed suit. He smiled at her comment and stroked her cheek gently, smiling at their son who squirmed in his mommy's arms.

"It's okay, baby. Let's wait until we're in a safe place, not afraid to be jumped by somebody. In Coliander perhaps? We'll see if we can get the same room as last time?" he smiled at his woman charmingly and nibbled on her lower lip, purring as she bit him and giggled.

"I'll hold you on to that, mister."

With the afternoon turning to dusk they decided to prolong their stay and spend the night under the stars, so Auron quickly prepared them a sleeping place with the baby between them, wrapped in additional blanket.

"I'm telling you, he'll grow up to be a heart-breaker and a vagabond they way his life is starting," Auron joked, looking down at his son.

"Nuh-uh! We'll raise him to be a proper gentleman, not a skirt-chasing fencer like his naughty dad," Ash teased.

"Hey, who's naughty," he replied, pretending to be hurt.

The next morning after a hurried breakfast they moved again and by dinner they were in Coliander, renting a room in the very same inn they had stayed previously.
