SEEKING writers for Old West RP

I got to thinking about a character and I think I came up with something pretty interesting. The owner of the boarding house in town. She's a sharp tongued woman who can gain the respect of the men staying there by keeping their secrets close. She has a rough past and likes to keep the local law out of her business by running a nice, quiet operation. Of course, because of this, she can provide help to outlaws or anyone else that comes along.

Don't know if this goes along with anything, but it's what I came up with. This is my first time writing on this forum, so please let me know if anything is out of line.

Sounds good. And what secrets would she keep one wonders ;p

Well then welcome to Lit, just be careful, there are some slimy people about. Me included ;p But DeathsKnight, SandDollar and I thin AmenRa are good sorts. But then what do I know ;p

lol. Thank you for the welcome.

And her secrets are secrets for a reason. If I told them all now, where would the fun be?!? I would think that her running a boarding house for men would cause all sorts of gossip. I also see her as a relative newcomer to town. Tongues will wag...

I'm still in the character development stage. I'll have something posted for a bio in the next few days....

Its all good AmenRa. I think we are taking things slow since AnotherOldGuy lost his internet, but hopefully he finds a replacement :D

Here for now, that way we can help you with anything if you need it.

On a side note, you may have a new customer for your boarding house :D

Check the latest post in the main thread to see what me be saying ;p

This is what I came up with....

Character Name: Penelope "Penny" Danville

Place In The Story: Owner of the Town Boarding House

Physical Description:

Female, 27
5’5, 130 lbs, willowy but strong figure
Fair skin, chestnut colored hair, light blue eyes
One visible scar on her right cheek, running from her ear and down across her jaw from an accident (described in character background)
Speaks with an Irish accent (Irish immigrant)

Character’s personality:
Extremely wise to the ways of the world and perhaps a bit jaded by life
Sharp tongued and strong willed
Keeps people at a distance but secretly longs for someone that can make her feel complete again

Character’s Background:
Penelope’s family immigrated to the United States when she was eighteen from County Cork, Ireland. The oldest of four daughters, she worked hard from a young age to help provide for her relatively poor family. She lived in a tenement house in New York City’s Lower East Side until a fire swept through the building, killing her entire family. She escaped by jumping from a third story window, causing bodily harm and the scar now visible on her face. To this day she suffers from an irrational fear of fire. She worked as a prostitute after the fire to support herself and finally resorted to stealing money from a wealthy client and she escaped New York on the first train she could catch. She traveled West and her journey ended in Barrowtown, where she is a relative newcomer and bought the local boarding house with last of her money. She treats the men that stay there with respect and calls them “her boys”. She feels safe for the moment but always looks over her shoulder.

Character’s Current Situation:
She has lived in Barrowtown for six months. Single and somewhat looking. I image there’s a fair bit of rumors out there about her being single and running a boarding house for men.

Character’s Direction:
She’s in town to stay unless something crazy happens. She’ll provide safe haven for someone with a secret (because she’s got them as well and values privacy). She’s done things in her life that she’s not proud of, but she refuses to be shamed by anyone.

nice. :D

I don't think we would have any problems with you posting. Maybe Lobo will show up. Or not.

My two characters, Murdock, lives outside of town, and prefers to not be bothered.

Evans is currently helping the Sheriff, but with AOG (anotheroldguy) away, I am thinking I will take over for a bit as him for the time being. If no one has a problem with that. I hope AOG doesn't ;p

No problems from me if you step up Jack, time for the bartender to write things from his POV and Mr Lobo to meet Miss Penny

he is, but I plan on having him and the sheiff back.

I Hope AOG likes what I will end up writing :D

So...Penny is a very complex character....who am I kidding? She's completely insane. lol.

Anyway, I mentioned Evan if he ever comes back on the scene. Also, are there any other characters out there that need to be met or created to further things?

This guy I'm introducing is just a throw away character. His name's Adam Turner and he's got a friend with him. He lives in Penny's boarding house. He can die quickly if need be. He's not really important. Someone else can have the other nameless guy though!
