True.... on both counts. :D I've never made beer bread, might have to give that a go sometime, I usually put beer in the batter for yorkshire pudding, that's definitely better than without. :)

Oh it's quite easy - 375 grams (3 cups) flour, 67 grams (1/3 cup) sugar, 21 grams (1 1/2 Tbsp)baking powder, 7 grams (1 1/2 tsp) salt, 354 ml ( 12oz) beer - (oddly I'm not in the UK, but find the measurements easier w/ baking, simply grab a bowl and weigh the stuff ;) )

Heat oven to 350°F (175 Celsius)

In a large bowl, Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt together, add beer and continue to mix using a wooden spoon. Batter will be sticky. Pour into a 9 x 5 inch greased loaf pan.

Bake for 50 for 60 minutes. The top will be crunchy, and the insides will be soft. Serve topped with butter or cheese spread.

Oh it is yummy BUT ONLY if you use a good quality beer! I've used Yuengling Black & Tan, Sam Adams cherry wheat, and this one I just made was a honey beer - very good ;)

You are quite welcome and let me know how it turns out for you :) Ohhh and one thing I forgot to say, I'll usually take a bit of butter and brush it on top of the bread after it's finished baking :)

Well, so I heard hun :D I need to be a bully myself today, I was having a great day till an insensitive person spoiled it for me, but things are slowly improving.... and if necessary I can always put on me bovver boots and be a bully like you hun. :D

LoL well this is a litster that had previously left Lit -after having run off a couple of well liked litsters- and now is back again. Some may have forgotten the behaviour, but not me :cool:

Don't know who that lister is, but any lister that makes nice listers go away is an asshole in my book, nearly ended up leaving here myself over a scumbag asshole, certainly spent quite a while feeling completely sickened by the sick PM that the skincrawling paedo sent me. Don't know if the lister you're talking about is as sick as that, but I have no time for anyone that drives others away, that's just nasty.... so whoever it is, I don't like them. :mad:

I'm glad you didn't leave - but pity that you didn't contribute the PM to the educational PM thread :D but then if it were that bad, I can understand why you wouldn't have done so - and that is a thread I've been neglecting lately - I need to go through my PMs :devil:
