Setting Old West (a year later)

Molly

I was cooking breakfast when I heard Max I the bedroom,
I peeked in, she was dressed looking in the mirror. "Good morning, "Morning Molly, thanks for the use of your bed," she said. Max, do you mind if I call you Max? I asked. "No I don't mind, she answered." "You look alot better than you did last night. Did you sleep well? Come sit down coffee is ready, breakfast will be ready in a few minutes. Tom is feeding the horses, he'll be in in a munute or two."

Tom (U.S. Marshal)
The sun was just coming up when I finished feeding and watering the horses. I looked at Molly's paint pony, I had to smile when I lifted her right front foot. There was the little nick in the shoe I saw the day I came to fortune. It was Molly that was watching me take a bath in the river that day. I smiled, she dosen't know I know. I smiled again as I thought I'll have to tell her.

I went in the kitchen and found Molly at the stove and Maxine sitting at the table with a cup of coffee. "Good morning miss," I said, "how are you this morning?" "Feeling better I hope." "Good morning Marshal, a little better but I haven't changed my mind about leaving," she said.
"That's up to you. But you should know, that feller Trent that was in the saloon yesterday is a bounty hunter. Sam and me run him off last night after I left you here. The only reason I can think of why he would be here, is you." She asked,"do you really think he was here just for a hundred dollars Marshal?"
I said, a hundred dollars is more than three months wages for a top hand on any ranch. So for a couple of weeks easy riding dragging you back to your daddy would be, to a man like him, well worth the trip."
"Enough of that talk Tom, let the girl eat her breakfast." Molly said, putting big plates in front of us, piled with beef steak, eggs, sourdough biscuits. no one spoke while we ate. That girl could eat. she ate like she hadn't eaten in a week and no prospects of eating for another week.
After we ate, Molly said, "I have to feed the chickens if I want eggs for breakfast tomorrow." When Molly left, I said, "I just want you to do one thing for me miss, if you will." "I don't know Marshal. What is it?" She asked, after she had a sip of her coffee. "I would like you to stay here with Molly until the stage leaves this after noon. Or if you decide to ride out, please let me know before you go. I'd like to be sure Trent ain't waiting for you anywhere around town." I told her.
She nodded,"I guess I could do that Marshal, she said.
I stood up to go and when I reached the door, Maxine said, "Marshal," I turned with my hand on the door latch and looked back at her. She hesitated for a second then said,"Thanks Marshal." "Anytime." I said.

I went to the stable and got old jughead, saddled him and was leading him out, "Tom." Molly called from the chicken yard. I led jughead over there. She said "I think she's pregnant." "Who? Maxine? She doesn't look pregnant," I said. "Did she tell you.." "No no, she didn't tell me anything. And she's not showing. I was the youngest of five girls. My nearest sister in age was five years older. They were married and pregnant it seems the whole time I was growing up. I'm not sure I can explain it. It's just something about the way a woman carries herself when she's carrying a baby, I don't think they even know they're doing it. They just seem to move more carefully." "Damn," Isaid, something else to think about." I kissed Molly and held her against me for a minute. "I'm going to find Dan. I'll be back in a couple of hours." I mounted jughead and headed for the saloon. A baby. I thought, I'm going to have to find Trent to make sure he's not after Maxine. But first Dan.

Maxine

I ate breakfast eating more than i thought possible. the promise rolled off my lips even as i didn't want to keep it. he seemed determined to keep me in town and Molly was looking at me oddly all day as I helped her out. my mind considering other things. Wondered if it wouldn't be simpler to hide somewhere else, anywhere else. I shivered, seeing Dan flirt with another girl, told me exactly how little he thought of our relationship. I told myself he merely told me he loved me to keep me in his bed. I wondered how things went with the girl in the tub. I ran my fingers through my hair and wished I could see Virginia and the baby. Even as I knew I wasn't ready to face Dan.

OOC: Sorry, I think we're still in last night. We'll catch up soon...well, soonish... ;)

IC: I moaned quietly as she rubbed her hand over my stiffening manhood, straining for release within my pants. Tilting her face up to me, I captured her lips with mine, kissing her deeply. My hands slid over her back, working at the ties of her dress as our tongues flicked out, tasting each other.

As I slowly opened up the back of her dress, we broke the kiss. Her lips found my chest again, teasingly licking and sucking at my nipples. I leaned down, brushing her long golden hair off her neck, nibbling at the revealed skin. Licking my way up her neck, I swirled my tongue in a tight circle over the sensitive spot just behind her ear.

I sucked her earlobe into my mouth, biting lightly at her soft flesh. I moaned, my hot breath washing over her ear, as she opened the front of my pants...

Virginia

The throbbing his wandering lips caused between my thighs was almost painful, but I wanted to pleasure him so badly.
My fingers found his buckle unerringly and he skinned out of his pants so quickly, you'd have thought he was a man denied.

Laying comfortably on my side, I wrapped one hand around the base of his cock and my lips around the head. I swirled my tongue around until he moaned lightly, then lowered my head to engulf him completely. I know it hadn't been very long since we'd last made love, but I so loved the taste of Sam's cum. I loved it almost as much as I loved pleasing him.

I began a deep rhythm of up and down strokes with my mouth completely engulfing his cock and let my free hand wander around his body teasing and tickling various hot spots, finally settling on teasing his ass unti his breath was comming in quick little gasps and I could feel his cock start to swell.

Max wasn’t afraid of work, she helped the cook in the kitchen out of sight of the customers all morning.
I couldn’t help but look at her every time I went out there. I was sure she was pregnant. I wanted to ask her about it but I was afraid it would make her run away before Tom found that man Trent. Tom said he was a bounty hunter. I was really worried that he was after Max.
Midmorning, at 8:00 or so it slowed down. The cowboys that had stayed in town over night for one reason or another, the blacksmith and shop keepers having had their breakfast and gone to work. The heavy china plates and cups the pots and pans were all clean and stacked early thanks to Max. So we had some time before the noon meal.
I poured a cup of coffee for Max and me. I stood in the door to the kitchen with the coffee Max didn’t seem to notice me. She seemed to be lost in her own thoughts. Her sleeves were rolled up and her hands were all red from the hot dish water. Max ran her hands through her short hair, she looked so desolate and lost, my heart almost broke from the sadness in her eyes. She was much, to young to be feeling such pain. I put the coffee on the table and sat down across from her. "Do you want to talk about it?" I asked.

Maxine

I looked up at her, she asked if I wanted to talk about it. "I ran away from home about three years ago. I'll be nineteen here soon. Let's say I left for a very good reason. I've been here over a year, and I was happy. Now, I just want to feel safe again. I thought I found some security here, but it was just an illusion. The Marshall asked for me to tell him when I'm leaving but I don't want to get him involved in covering my tracks. The reward for my safe return is well too tempting for most any man." I shrugged, "Eventually my family will think I'm dead." The words tumble out and my mouth stays open for a while.

"tell me something molli, do you think it would be okay to encourage that belief?"

"Good morning," he said cheerily. Two other customers came in, looking for some breakfast. Why did he always have to keep up some sort of charade with the people of this town. When he felt sad, why couldn't he be sad? Because, whether he liked it or not, he was the backbone of this community, and people would run him out of town if he told them anything about his secret life.
She didn't show up for work this morning. He didn't suspect she would, she was probably miles and miles away from here. He wondered where she would go. Perhaps back home? His father wouldn't approve, but he knew fathers and daughters, she would get a severe spanking, and life would return to normal. Of course, she would have to marry that jerk. It was her choice though, he had told her how he felt.
His mind shot blank for a second. Didn't he tell her how he felt? He didn't think he could remember all of the going on's last night. He had to, he had a bleak memory of her riding off, so he had to have talked to her. Still, had he said everything?
Well, if he hadn't then, he would have now. Dan stared down at the letter. Five pages long, and he had writer's cramp up to his elbow. Still, it said everything he hoped it would. He just wished he knew where to mail it.
In her shop.
He walked next door, and slipped it under the door. If she wasn't miles away riding to a new future she would visit her shop one more time. He was sure she would read the letter, and then if she still didn't want anything to do with him, he would let her be.

(ooc: don't I get any say as to whether she's pregnant or not?)

Sam

Oh god...I could barely think straight, and I was having trouble breathing too, air entering my lungs in ragged gasps. I struggled desperately to keep the noise down, not wanting to wake the room's other occupant, but Virginia was making it very hard for me.

I threw my head back on the bed, eyes shut tight, biting my lower lip. She kept sucking relentlessly, teasing my ass at the same time, and I writhed and squirmed uncontrollably, my legs shaking with pleasure. Digging my fingers into the bedclothes, I arched my back, pushing my aching cock deeper into her mouth. She sensed how close I was and picked up her pace, bobbing her head up and down furiously on my throbbing shaft. With a long low moan of pleasure and a shudder, I erupted in her mouth.

Virginia

I swallowed...and swallowed...Sam seemed to cum for an eternity. God how I loved pleasuring him! There were days when I wished I'd had a more normal life, but in bed with Sam I was always glad I had some of the knowledge my profession had taught me.

Sam moved to undress me, and though I let him, that was all the farther I would go.
"Honey, as much as I would love to...giving birth is a lot of work that has set me off limits for a little while." His smile said he understood, as did his loving kiss.

And little Jon picked that moment to awaken, demanding something to eat. Sam stepped over to the cradle and gingerly picked up the baby then brought him over to the bed where I was unbuttoning my gown. I laid on my side and tucked the baby next to my swollen breast, helping him to latch on. His tiny hands balled into little fists held on to my breast while he greedily suckled. Sam merely watched, his hand caressing and teasing my other breast until a small stream of milk began leaking out.

Later, the baby fed and sleeping beside me, Sam spooned behind me and we slept.

“Eventually my family will think I’m dead. Why not encourage that belief? Max said.
“No no, that’s not the answer, I told her, That might work for three, six months or even a year. But one day someone tour father knows will recognize you then you’d be on the run again, or back to your father.
Henri Dubois has business dealings from New Orleans east to Boston and west to San Francisco. I’m sure that notice with your picture on it went to all the people he does business with. And some day someone will find you, even if that doesn’t happen. Do you want to be looking over your shoulder for the rest of your life?”
“And what about Dan? I asked, I was under the impression that you and him were a couple. Are you going to run away from him?” “He doesn’t care. He was in that woman’s room. I saw him on the shade.” It’s his saloon, maybe he was fixing something,“ I said. “No,” she said, he didn’t leave right away.” “Listen Max,“ I said, I don’t know what, if anything happened with that woman. And either do you. But I do know Dan cares about you. Last night after you went to bed Tom went down to the saloon. He found Dan falling down drunk trying to saddle his horse. Tom Asked where he was going go to look for you . Tom told him that you were safe and told him to go home and sleep it off. Tom said he walked off mumbling something about being a damn fool for not telling you something. Tom didn’t get it all because of the way Dan slurred his words. He does care or he wouldn’t be going out in the middle of the night looking for you.”
“Max you’ve made a home here. You have friends here. Virginia and Sam are your friends and the girls at the saloon just love you. The other day the banker, Mr. Evans and his wife were in for supper. They had passed you on the street. Mrs. Evans mentioned that sweet young lady that runs the dress shop and always has a smile for everyone. And Tom is out looking for that bounty hunter Trent, he thinks that he is here for you . So you see, you do have friends here and reasons to stay.”

When I left Molly I rode east out of town toward the river crossing. As I was crossing I got just a slight smell of smoke on the soft breeze. I didn’t look around , I kept riding across the river. There had been rain during the night so it was running deeper than usual. There was a bend about two hundred yards down the road when I got around it and couldn’t be seen from the river I swung jughead off the road behind a stand of high brush and scrub oak. I got down and tied jughead so he could crop grass at the base of the trees. I got my moccasins out of my saddle bags and sat with my back to the tree to change my boots for them. The thin soles of the moccasins let me feel what I was stepping on so as not to step on twigs that that will snap and alert anyone nearby. I slipped through the woods moving quietly from tree to tree. When I could just see the camp through the trees I made a wide circle studying camp and the surrounding woods. I found where he had tied his horse to a low bush. The camp was empty . Who ever it was, was gone. I followed the tracks as far as the road, where they turned toward town. Because of the rain the tracks were easy to read. There were just mine going east and these over mine going west. Whoever it was left their camp after I went by. I wondered why someone would camp over night just an hour from town. Unless they didn’t want to be seen .
I ran the two hundred yards to my horse and followed the tracks back toward town about a mile from town they turned on to an old game trail that circled the to north and came within a half mile of town behind the saloon. I let Jughead pick his own way down the trail through the woods . His ears pricked up and looked off to my left. I didn’t hear anything at first but Jughead did then a horse whinnied. I was off Jughead with my rifle and behind a some brush in half of a second expecting a shot. Nothing, not a sound. I waited scanning as much of the woods as I could see without moving for an hour. For in these situations, often the first one that moves is the first one dead. After about an hour I was pretty sure the horses were alone. I could see them cropping grass a hundred yards away. It took me twenty minutes to cover the hundred yards moving slowly, making as little noise as I could. The horses were tied to a low bush eating the grass around the base and had gotten then selves wrapped around the bush . Molly’s paint pony was there and a big black gelding I remember seeing tied in front of the saloon yesterday. I wasn’t sure who’s horse it was but I thought I could make a good guess.
I could see the back of the saloon and some of the stores about a half mile away through the woods. I brought them to where I had left Jughead. Holding the reins in one hand I led them down the game trail to where it turned toward town. Then I led them through the woods to the back of Molly’s barn and put then in the last stalls and closed the door after giving them a forkful of hay each.
I went in the kitchen and found Molly and Maxine sitting at the table talking quietly. “Tom, Molly said, do you want a cup of coffee?” “No thanks, I don’t have time, I found Trent’s horse in a clearing about a mile from here. And he had your paint there to.” “My horse!” Molly said. “Yes, It looks like he is planning to leave in a hurry and needed another horse. Probably for you,” I told Maxine. If you go out please be careful. I’m going to find Sam and Dan, we have to find this squirrel. I went out and headed for the saloon.

Trent.

A hundred dollars ain’t a whole lot of money but maybe Dubois will give me more work when I bring his daughter back. Trent thought as he waited. And I can maybe get another hundred for that pretty paint pony. A noise at the door startled him out of his thoughts so he almost knocked over a rack of dresses. He ducked down behind the cutting table with his gun in his hand, watching but the door didn’t open. Someone slid a piece of paper under the door. After they went away he picked it up. It was folded and sealed with wax He couldn’t read but he saw what he thought must be a name on it. Maxine. He put it in his shirt pocket thinking she can read it to me on the trail.

U.S.Marshal, Molly

Trent was dead. Dan had caught him in Maxine's dress shop when he went to see if she had come back and got his note ten days ago. Trent made the mistake of drawing on him. Trent wasn't very fast, doing most of his shooting from behind. Dan put two bullets in him before he cleared leather.
After talking to Dan and saying good bye to Virginia and Sam at the saloon I rode back to Molly,s. Iloaded the extra horses and sadded her horse and went in the kitchen to get her. I had asked her to marry me. I told her I was going to quit being a marshal and go home to Nabraska to help my dad run our horse ranch. and asked her to come with me. She said, "yes, when do you want to leave?" "Tomorrow," I said. That was yesterday. She was in the kitchen saying good buy to Maxine. "Good bye Max, I said, I hope everything works out for you." "Are you ready," I asked Molly." "Yes all set, let's go," she said. We mounted and rode west once we got out of town we turned north. We're going to meet an ex-Texas ranger friend of mine thats trailing a herd to Kansas City. We'll travel north with the herd. It'll be a lot slower than if we just struck out on our own but there's safety in numbers. So we said good buy to Fortune and headed north.
