Setting the old west

Re: Sam

OOC: don't know if you want to go this way, as I know you guys have been communicating by email to work on this plot, but knowing my personality, and the personality I'm portraying, I woulda rushed out the door after Virginia, and across the street to the bank. If you don't wanna go this way, I'll delete my post. I am but a Sassy woman, and I wouldn't have sat back doing nuthin'. 'Specially since Virginia woulda been a good friend of mine.

IC: I see a young man dash after the scroundral I saw earlier, and momentarily forget the young man I spoke to. Then I see Virginia dash out the door after him. I raise my skirt and draw out my pistol, and hurry after her, knowing this must mean trouble.

He pressed the blade into her throat...

I came through the door moments after Virginia did, and saw the young man lunge for the rifle. It goes off, and I see blood squirtin' from the youngs man's shoulder. Virginia is suddenly grabbed by this would be bank robber, and her futile fighting is quickly subdued. His hands are around her throat, and he draws a knife and points it at her.

Behind the assailant, I level my 38 at the back of his head. I don't carry no "womens" light weight bullshit, and the tips of my bullets are slit.....you know they work like a hollow point. I just don't want to shoot him so the bullet goes clear through and hits my friend, Virginia. Hell, by the looks of it, she might have a chance to get outta this business, and I'd do anything in my power to help her. This was a lonely life, and I didn't wish it on ANYBODY.

OOC: I'll shoot the sob without a warning, if you wanna go this way. Right now, we got the advantage, but he don't know it. Tell me if you want me to proceed.

OOC: Ok, maybe you wanna do a kidnapping.....I'll back away if that's where ya wanna go.....but I was a posting when you were,.....Countess....(Virgina) lol

OOC: Finally!!!! More than two people in this town can interact :) I like where you're going and yes, we've been, um, talking about the storyline. I must admit, I like the sex, but this drama keeps me on the edge of my seat. :)

I'll e-mail you with more details in a sec...

Before they could slink out the door, I aimed my 38 directly at the scoundrel's head, and without thinking I fired. Wasn't the first time I'd killed, and probably wouldn't be the last. But Virginia was my dear friend, and NO ONE was gonna hurt her, if I had anything to say about it.

Cole fell, and he fell hard. The knife in his hand went flying to parts unknown. Released, Virginia went flying over to her new wounded lover. I covered the distance between me and asshole, and fired another bullet into his chest, just to make sure.

He was dead alright. I smiled in triumph, as I turned around to see the new lovers.

Poor kid was hurt. Hurt bad. Virginia was busy trying to tend to his wounds, and i shouted to some of the boys to drag this dead weight outta the way. We needed to get this boy to the Doc, NOW.

I went over to Virginia and her new lover, and whispered.

"Let's get him over to see the doc....prompto....I'll help ya."

Virginia

"Oh, Sally, how can I ever thank you?"

Sam's head was lolling in my lap while my hands pressed against his shoulder, trying to staunch the blood. Sally helped me get Sam to his feet, then I felt another set of hands holding him up. I turned to see Elizabeth Johnson. "Miz Johnson! Oh, thank you so much!"
Together the three of us got Sam to the Doc's office where he shooed us out of the room so he could tend Sam.

"Better get the doc to check this scratch when he's done with your lover in there. Looks like it might need stitching," Sally said, checking out the bloody gash on my neck.

It was a long wait, but the Doc finally came out and pronounced Sam in fine health, just a little weak. With a sardonic grin, he added, "Though he probably won't be much use to you for a few days." Despite my profession, I blushed to the roots of my hair.

I rushed in to be with Sam. He was awake, his eyes beckoning me...

i slinked out backdoor at gunshots and peered around corner....seeing the big onery guy dead i slipped over. i had done my fair share of nursing as my father was doctor but doubted this town boasted a doctor

OOC in intro i stated bartender took on most roles of authority in this town so I'll double play and act for him for now

DAN the bartender/sherrif/doctor/cook

I rushed out knowing trouble was brewing hearing the gunshots i cursed drawing my own gun.

"Curses Sally did you have to kill him? Now I'll have to bury him." I moved swiftly to injured man taking in knife wound. "Girls, let's get him inside, cleaned up and in a proper bed, I think Virginia won't mind giving up hers."
Shaking my head spying the slender brat i had seen inside.
"You two kid I could use all the level headed help I can get

DAN the bartending man

OOC Boarding house sounds good..let me

IC

I glance up and see woman who runs boarding house looking disheveled and she says we could use boarding house instead. we move their and i head back to bar and grab my black bag, it doens't take much to clean up the feller, but after washing the scratch on virginia's throat i say she can go see him

"You get outta this business before it's too late fer ya, and that's all the thanks I need, sweetie." I reply. I hated seeing new blood with no out. I'd live the rest of my life helping 'em outta this business, even if I didn't ever stand a chance of escaping myself. I smile just thinking a fellow inmate in this life of misery actually had a way out.

I turn back to focus on the poor wounded man at that time.

"Better get the doc to check this scratch when he's done with your lover in there. Looks like it might need stitching," I say.

I look around for the young pup I'd addressed earlier, but can't find hide nor hair of 'em.

"Curses Sally did you have to kill him? Now I'll have to bury him."

"Asshole didn't give me 'nother option, doc. Couldn't 'ave 'em carrying off me buddy here." I reply, still wondering what had happened to my new young friend.

OOC: i think we're blending well.....waddiyou think? It's yer thread!

OOC not about to discourage replies....just trying to get things to flow fairly smoothly

DAN....
Standing washing hands trying to figure out if i have a coffin big enough for him ready. I ask sassy to get back to bar, that I'll make sure Gini and her beau make it on next stagecoach out of town.

I eyeball the young kid who had helped me in shadows and look him over. their is something wrong about him but
i trust him the same.

"hey kid ever tended bar?" i don't wait for answer and tell Sassy to see to it he takes care of bar for while.

KID
the question startles me i thought for sure i was caught with my small hands and that woman. she'd had her eye on me for while and i looked down and nodded and hid my hands in the large sleeves of coat as we headed back

OOC mind the way i wrote you out? i really enjoyed your interaction, be nice to start a new thread...call it frontier or something and share your new ventures

IC:
I head back to the bar, kid in tow.....how'd I get strapped with 'em, I'll never know.....but as long as 'e could mix a drink, what the hell did I care.....?

There were several folks needin a drink by then, so i busied meself wit de orders, as i showed our new whippersnapper the ropes. He (?) caught on quickly, and I still wondered where he's come from.

Masses now satisfied, I relaxed a bit and looked o'er the frontier.....

OOC: WOW!! This has got to be the most interactive thread I've been on! D'ya suppose Gini 'n Sam could get hitched before you send us off into the sunset? Kinda had my heart set on a saloon weddin' :)

Sam

OOC: Well this place has certainly got busy since yesterday! Cool

Countess DeWinter said:
I took the money with a shaking hand and, with his knife still at my throat and Cole practically dragging me, backed out the door of the bank, my eyes pleading with Sam not to do anything that would get him hurt any worse...

IC: I saw the look of concern in her eyes, but I had to do something. If he got away with her then she was dead, simple as that. He'd kill her without a thought, just to hurt me, so I had to stop him, somehow. I tried to steady my hand but the shock from my wound was making it shake, and I couldn't line up the shot. Suddenly the room began to spin, and I felt as if the floor had disappeared from under me. My vision blurred and everything went black. The last thing I saw before consciousness deserted me was a figure behind Cole...

...

...

Light returned, and with it a thousand frantic thoughts: Virginia, where was Virginia? Was she all right? What had Cole done with her? Had he hurt her, or worse...

Suddenly my vision cleared, and I saw her beautiful face, looking down at me. She smiled -- -- not that lip stretching thing, but the kind of smile that starts in your heart and goes all the way to your eyes (thank you, mi'lady ;)). I felt compelled to say it...

"I think I've died and gone to heaven." :)

She leaned down and kissed me passionately, and I knew I was still alive. Being dead just couldn't feel that good.

"Cole...?" I said, questioningly.

"He's dead." She softly replied. I was about to ask how, but she shushed me and put her fingers to my lips. "Later..."

I saw the cut on her throat, from Cole's knife. "You've been hurt!"

She gestured to my bandaged shoulder. "I've been hurt?"

We both laughed, until my voice turned serious. "I know you hardly know me, and I haven't got much to offer you..." I held her hand to my chest and looked into her deep blue eyes, "just my heart, an' a whole passel o' sweet lovin'..."

"Virginia ... will you marry me?"

Virginia

"Virginia ... will you marry me?"

A thousand thoughts flashed through my mind. Sam deserved so much better than a whore... For that reason, I wanted to say no.

"Oh, Sam! You can't mean that!"

But for a thousand other reasons... I wanted him to mean it. I wanted to spend all my nights with him. I wanted to grow old with him, work side by side with him, dear lord! I wanted to have children with him (if I could).
I looked into his eyes and saw his sincerity. He really wanted to marry me. Girls like me didn't get these kinds of offers very often...

"Yes, Sam," I whispered, tears streaming down my cheeks. "I'll marry you, IF you promise to rest and recover."

"Yes, ma'am," Sam replied. He was having a hard time keeping his eyes open. He opened his mouth to speak again and I shut them the best way I knew how...I kissed him.

"You rest and I'll take care of the details. You're strong," I added with a blush. "You'll be up and around in no time." I watched him until his eyes closed and his breathing became the deep even breathing of a sleeping man.

Quietly I tiptoed out of the room and went in search of Sally.
"Hey! Sally," I hollered her way when I found her. "I need a maid of honor...I know you're no maid," I teased, "but I'd be honored if you'd stand up for me and help me throw a wedding together. Whadda ya say?"

Dan the Bartending Man (any guy who wants to take up this role can)

I go back in to see man sleeping i shake my head i had heard proposal. I guess I'd wire for a minister and the two of them could head off on honeymoon on that stagecoach. I didn't think a couch would come in until next week but if I wired ahead, it could be here in a few days

OOC don't worry I have just the minister for the job

The kid (yep i'm female just dressing as boy to hide from dad, he wants me married to his choice of idiot)

I could mix a fair drink and suddenly I was up to my elbows in orders. I watched the working woman and saw the look she gave me and i kept working. a wedding just what this place needed......

We're havin' a weddin'!

"Whaddi I say? I say it'll me my pleasure!" I exclaim. I'm so happy for Virginia, that I reach out and give her a big hug.

"Congradulations, darling! You've gone and found you a May-an! Whoopee!"

Virginia

It seems like all the saloon hangers-on are really excited about the wedding.
I asked Elizabeth to help me find a dress, a NICE dress to wear to get married in and the creation she came up with was wonderful! It doesn't show anything!! No tits bursting out of a too-low neckline, no legs showing out of a too-short skirt. Sam's probably going to be disappointed, but when I was a little girl, I used to dream about getting married just like every little girl. And that dream didn't include looking like a whore while I was doin' it!

I stood at the top of the stairs, waiting for Sam and whoever they'd found to officiate to arrive.

OOC: If'n y'all don't mind, I'd be real beholdin' if Friendly Dragon could do the actual ceremony/passionate kiss/riding off into the sunset part, but please, throw in any other perspectives. Thankee kindly XOXO -- the bride :)

OOC got someone who wants to be introduced to town as minister.....thought we could weave him in now but it would flow smoother if friendly dragon spun out the ceremony...so i'll just have him enter on stage coach and you two can write out teh wedding vows and he'll just be around to say "you may now kiss the bride"

I help the kid clean up the bar as girls scramble for dress. I sent out the wire the next day, and hoped to have minister here by Wednesday (real time)

OOC any time wednesday night that most of us can be on line?

working with bartender makes me think of idiot my father wanted me to marry and begin thinking i want to experience all life has to offer before settling with some dweeby docotr wanna be. Something about bartender makes me feel comfortable even in my disguise

Sam

OOC: Intriguess: If you're bringing someone in special to play the minister then I'd be happy to include them. Maybe they could do the "dearly beloveds" bit at the start, then I'd take it from there with what Sam wants to say, Countess can add some words by Virginia if she likes, Minister gives the "I now pronounce..." and "You may kiss the bride" bits, and then I take it from there until the end. Sound ok to everyone?

Also, would you mind if I gave the town a name right at the end (as they ride off into the sunset). I've got a good idea that I think would wrap up Sam and Virginia's part of the thread nicely.

OK, I've got a bit of pre-ceremony IC stuff I'd like to do. Sam will probably be in a flap trying to sort out a suit to wear for the ceremony and a ring to give Virginia, so if anyone wants their characters to help him out with these things, then feel free to use Sam in your posts similar to how I'm about to.

IC:

I was in a flap :). I really wanted to make this wedding special for Virginia in every way, but there were so many things I needed to take care of to make sure it turned out perfect.

My first stop was the boarding house, and I knocked politely on the front door. It felt slightly odd using my right hand; I'd started to get some feeling back in my left arm, and the Doc said it was gonna heal fine, but he warned me to use it as little as possible for a while. Good thing I'd already swept Virginia off her feet, I thought, as it'd be a lot harder with only one arm :). I laughed at the thought, and then it dawned on me that this was the first time I'd been in a truly good mood for a long, long time. I had a lot to thank Virginia for.

The door opened, and Elizabeth stood there. "Hello Sam," she said, smiling.

"S'cuse me, Miss Johnson. Sorry to trouble you, but can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Certainly Sam," she replied, "come on in."

"Thank you Ma'am." I followed her into the front room. She sat down on a couch.

"How can I help you Sam?"

"Well Ma'am, I want to make this wedding perfect for Virginia, an' I want to tell her how great she makes me feel an' everything, but I ain't much good with fancy words. I know what I want to say but I want to say it right. You're real smart Miss Johnson, so can you please help me?"

OOC i'll make sure minister does as you say...thanks
*hopping from one foot to another* damn it now i want to know what name you're going to give my no name town

I had fitted out the coffin and put the stiff to rest. I sorted through his belongings and decided sam would see it put to good use. the money would help the two start out right. I looked through clothing i had collected from previous corpses and wondered if it would be bad luck to have Ms. Johnson clean up and mend some of the suits for the wedding. I shrugged as long as the bride didn't know who was to tell her. The kid was still sleeping somewhere so I collected the clothing and headed over to boarding house to see how much it'd cost to get the clothes cleaned up.

my patient was already there and I talked to him about the money and belongings as Ms Johnson took the clothing.

The Kid

I woke up as sun beamed into my eyes, feeling tired grimy and overly hungry. It took me a while to even remember where I was and then I was still unsure of how long I could hide here

Shuffling through my jewelry box, I select a beautiful genuine pearl necklace. The bride must wear something borrowed, I think. Perhaps she would accept this to wear with the lovely gown being prepared for her. Clutching the necklace tightly, I hurry to find Virginia, anxious to show her my treasure.
