The best option I have found so far is using an epilator....takes a bit of time and a lot of care, but is smoother and softer than any shave can do, and you don't need worry about it for at least 3-4 weeks.

Shaved!

Shaved is definitely the way to go. My wife was shaving long before I met her. Now when I see pictures of unshorn women it just looks...repulsive somehow.

I've shaved off and on over the years. I've found that the bumps go away with regular shaving (daily or every two days).

Recently I was in the shower and when I shaved my stubble I just kept on going. Now I only have hair on my head and arms. There are some bumps because it's new, but they'll go away.

Tip: Try one of the many hair inhibitors. They work!

Shaved under with a nicely shaped tuft on top. Don't like hair in my mouth or stuck in my teeth. Nothing is worse than going down on a guy and have to stop what I am doing to try to get the hair out before it gets swallowed....YUCK!

I use the triple blade razors along with Dove body wash instead of regular soap, shampoo or shave cream. Feels nice and smooth afterwards. The body wash works best for softening the hair and skin as you shave. The triple blade razors keep the hair from being pulled. Both dry or unsoftened hair/skin along with hair being pulled (dull razor) will cause the razor burn.

The one I have is the Braun EpiLady.....breaking in the new model which has new attachments to master....lol, supposed to reduce pain, but I think they are more likely to get the wrong things caught in those tweezer grips if you aren't ultra careful..have been cheating and leaving it off to just have the tweezer head itself.
