Better yet, the United States should just go down to Mexico Southern border and block it off, they pretty well closed down the borders with the United States, now just get a few Navy ships along the coastal ports and take over the country of mexico. After all we are there primary source of Revenue as so many people send money down there and they depend on tourism from the United States. It would be much easier to take over than any other country and we could run it as a colony just like we do Puerto rico.

Not exactly. It was originally a Spanish/Mexican colony, Alta California. (Mexico still has Baja California.) The U.S. took it in the Mexican-American War.

That is why so many places in California have Spanish names. Usually names of saints, the Spanish being so extremely Catholic.

Come to think of it, that is probably why the U.S. did not annex Mexico in 1848. There was no slavery in Mexico. Admitting Mexican states would have completely destroyed the Southern pols' strategy of making sure there were always at least as many slave states as free states, so no anti-slavery legislation would ever make it out of the Senate.
