Shy's quaint country cottage

*smiles softly as she notices Vail enjoying the food and wine. She leans forward and plucks a few grapes from the bunch, nestles back into the chair and nibbles on them*
So how are you today Vail? What are you dressed for? I am glad to see your shoes aren't as...well...*struggles to find the right word*...intense as your previous ones. *smiles playfully*

thats really untrue. Most of the people I work with don't have IT field degrees. It does mean you have to start with the shit job (tech support, usually), but after that, its all upwards.
(I manage a tech support team for a small software company, I know)

Well, a standard computer IT degree is four to six years (depending on the specific discipline). an Associate of Science is 2 to 4 depending on where you go. Either way, I'm ineligible for financial aid because of being forced by other people to abandon college twice. It'd cost me about 10 to 20 grand to pay all that off so I could even consider trying again.
Oh dragon, I am so sorry to hear that! Here they have 'Certificates' that don't take as long or cost as much to complete. They aren't as 'detailed' as a university degree, but it is something. Plus the training is a lot more practical. Is there anything like that where you are from?

Oh, nothing in particular...jjust relaxing, and I love my ripped jeans...but I always found something really pretty, in a way, about wearing nice heels with casual clothes, so i tend to do so, the more casual the better

Those, however, were foolish shoes. I could dance in these for a while (and, unlike those, not get a nose-bleed being up so high)

Nothing really in that discipline. And all costing money I don't have in any case.

I do not!
When have I ever horded???

(though I do have a strange fascination with the show Hoarders.

-Pays a sudden, cutting glance to Shy. His eyes rake a stark appraisal of her figure, veiled as it may be in the thin, flowing panels of her robe.-

Then we'll share.

And the show is terrifically sad in most cases. But, like Intervention, I've gotten hooked into an episode here and there, too.

*looks at Vail's heels and ponders almost distantly. Snaps back to reality...* Nope, I still couldn't walk in those things. You are FAR braver than I! That much is for sure...

Well, what about making computers and selling them privately? I know a few people who just buy towers and parts and put them all together, and then they sell them for extra money. Is that something you may be able to do? I know it would cost some money to get the parts at first, but after that it would be fairly easy...PLUS you'd be doing something that you like to do! :D

*Turns to the voice of Light Ice*
Hording women? I like to think that I am my own free spirit here...

*giggles softly and motions for Light Ice to take a seat and help himself to the platter*

in that, you are correct, the show IS very sad. But it doesn't feel like its exploiting the people. It feels like they really are trying to help

I agree. In both cases. I think that the primary interest resides in the hope that they will increase awareness. The secondary, of course, is in helping the subjects of each story.

Still, I try not to watch -too- much. It's difficult, even for a cold-blooded reptile of a man such as myself, to witness suffering like that.

I grew up in heels, basically. Plus, you know, wonder woman always had heels and all the cool super spies and so I learned.

*looks at both Vail and Ice in slight shock* What is this show? What is it about? It sounds horrible!

The platter is paid no mind. A faint smile, scarcely touching his features, offered in muted appreciation regardless. Instead of delights, however, his attention remains on Shy herself. The stretch of a rugged arm allows his thick-fingered hand to lightly weave their way in an idle caress through Shy's mane and along the scalp beneath. "Thank you, Shy."

Considered that too. You need either startup funds or a customer base or both. Which goes back to "not taken seriously due to lack of degree"

I'm afraid I was the other type...I was a little tomboy, despite my parent's best efforts to put me in dresses in heels, I always secretly wore shorts underneath. *giggles* Now when it comes to me having to wear heels for a night out, I struggle greatly! I need to have an arm buddy just to help me around by the end of the night lol.

*A small shiver runs down her spine as Ice's gaze seemingly bores into her soul. She watches in curious fascination as he so boldly laces his fingers within her hair, another shiver dances across her skin at the touch*
You are more than welcome Ice. I am sorry if my critique upset you. I haven't heard from you so I assumed the worse... *pouts slightly*

*Her attention is brought back by dragon's tale...* Oh dragon...I wish there was something I could do to help. But I don't know your educational systems over there...:(

Its a show about people who suffer from the flavor of OCD called hording.
Basically, they refuse to throw anything away.
Trash, torn clothes, food, anythiung.
And the show comes in and tries to help them clean up their lives.
I mean, these are people who's houses are literally crumbling under the weight of all their stuff sometimes.

The downside of capitalism. If you're not filthy stinking rich, most people won't have anything to do with you.

Well, there's worse things in the world than having to hold on to someone

His hand withdraws, tangled thoroughly. The retreat of those battered digits comes at a price, a series of tugs, light in their lack of intention. It's not hard, however, to imagine what that large hand could accomplish if it wrenched a handful of that silken mane and tugged.

"No, Shy. I've simply been a bit absent from the boards in any substantial sense. I've been forced to focus on my stories in order to keep them moving."

It seems to me that I may be living with one as we speak! I am notorious for keeping things clean, so to live in such a way sets me on edge. Are you sure the show just isn't exploiting the people? Because it seems that way...

*giggles softly*
And yes, you are right. I am sure the men love having me dangling on their arm *giggles again*

You are right, though it seems to me that Australia has far 'easier' educational opportunities. I suppose that is why I am so lucky. But really, if there is anything you can think of that I can do to help, let me know?

*With a little whimper her eyes are drawn back to Ice's face, her eyes searching for his hidden intentions...*
Yes, you have a great many talented writers to keep on track! That isn't an easy task...especially ones as creative as those. *smiles warmly in an attempt to show him what she is thinking...*

Actually, I'm pretty sensitive about shows that exploit people's illnesses or weaknesses. This feels like thye treat the people with respect and concern

*smiles with relief* Good...it just breaks my heart when people exploit others misfortunes.
*leans forward and offers Vail some more wine*

"I try not to keep them on track, to be truthful."

A laugh, a glint in his eyes. They meet her own, hold there as he reaches out to lightly tap the underside of her delicate chin. She has soft features. Gentle lines. A contrast to the masculine edges of his face and the lean, wolfish cut of his jawbones. There's no doubting the nature of his appreciation as he looks onto her.

"I've no control. And, even if I did, setting them loose would be the most fun."

Heh. Not much I can think of. Most of my needs require money right now. Though if you could find a way to get me a pizza or some ice cream :D
