signature picture

i've uploaded a picture, it shows when i look at the edit sig pic functions, etc.

but when I post - no picture in my signature??

what am I doing wrong - it is of an allowable size, etc...????

Well, it's not that you have sigs turned off, because it's not showing for me either.

Here are the size parameters: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

Does your picture meet them?

Does it give you some kind of error message after you press the button to upload the pic?

You could also try hosting your pic online and hotlinking it, either in the sig text box or below it, where it says 'Enter the URL...'. See this thread for details on hotlinking/inserting pics that are hosted on other sites.

thanks, it meets the size parameters, it uploaded fine.

when i look at edit signature, i see the pic, but it doesn't show up in my signature???

i'm generally pretty good with this stuff, guess not today.. lol

do i need to use IMG code or something?? it looks to me as if it's just like the AV or profiles pics - upload them, they should appear.

Hosting it online (if it's an adult pic, you'll need to find an image hosting service that allows them; avoid imageshack and photobucket, and google 'adult image hosting') and then hotlinking using the IMG code and URL of the hosted pic in the sig text box is what I'd try next.

Quick question: After you upload the pic from your computer, are you clicking on the 'Insert Signature Picture' link right next to the preview of the image? If not, you need to do that, and then it'll insert code into the text box and once you save the changes, it should appear in your sig.

i dont see an insert signature pic link - i only see a delete pic link. that is why i wondered if i needed a certain number of posts before i could use a sig pic.

i've tried it both ways (using flikr with all the filters checked), doesn't seem to make any difference.

i'm using firefox..

can't think of anything else, i'll keep looking.

Directly above the delete pic link there should be an insert pic link - but all this does is insert the following text in your sig (without the spaces) :

 [ SIGPIC] [ /SIGPIC ]

So you could try adding that manually if the link isn't showing....

I just tried it and it works for me, not sure if it's a post count enabled thing....

No, anyone can use the signature feature; it's not like AV's or custom titles.

See the attached screenshot for the Insert Signature Picture link. You should have it on your screen, too, even if the pic is uploaded.

Click that (it'll put
code in the text box above), then click the Preview Sig button, and finally, the Save Sig button.

You might also want to try logging out, clearing your Lit cookies, then logging back in. There might be a hiccup in the system.

Well, I right-clicked on my image from where it sets after you upload it, then used that in the [ img] tags to get it into my sig.
Not sure if that was the "proper" way to do it, but I did it.

I notice that you have resolved the problem, but I thought I should note that your first few posts inthis thread don't have the show signature box checked and aren't showing ANY signature, with or without picture.

That's the first step in gettin your signature to show in your posts -- you have to tell the post to show the signature.
